STRANGE BUG
The first time I faced this issue, I ignored it, but this issue cropped up again yesterday while I was listening to music.
Issue - I am using Player Pro as the music player on my HTC One. When I play music through the Player Pro application, the music starts at a very deafening volume level when using headphones. Even the volume rocker is of no help. I tried reducing the volume and I reached the last point on the music volume scale, but the music sound level was not reduced.
I then tried using the stock player to listen to music and it very well responded to the volume rocker and I could control the level of the music. What could be wrong here? Is this a bug?
Another instance, I connected my Bluetooth headset (Dell BH200) to HTC One and was listening to music on the same player " Player Pro". As usual the same problem, the volume rocker doesnot control the music level. I then tried to reduce the volume through the control of my bluetooth headset and I was able to reduce the volume.
Could this be issue with the player or the phone.
This same apk file which I used to install the app Music Pro to listen to music on my HTC One was used to install on HTC Desire S and it worked FLAWLESSLY! I was very happy with the player. What could be wrong here?

The button on the headphones is too ingrained with the media player.
When I am listening to a podcast with Google Listen, and I pause it, it pauses just fine.
But when I press the button on the headphones (sony ipod compatible ones or the ones that came with the captivate), Listen starts back up, but so does the built in media player. I end up with Rich Eisen talking about Mike Vick and 10,000 maniacs at the same time.
I checked in the media player settings, and there is nothing for the button function.
Any thoughts?

Something a little weird with my Optimus 2x. When I have bluetooth headphones connected, sometimes I loose all volume control. Today I was hitting the volume on the headphones, and it wasn't changing. When I turn down the volume on the phone, the sound dips to really quiet for a second or two, then jump back up to where it was.
My headphones are HELIUM DIGITAL HDBT-700
Any thoughts?

So, I found out the problem is the Power Amp app. Everything works fine when I use the stock music player.
That's unfortunate; Power amp is a good player. Also the stock music widget is pretty ugly.
Is there a replacement for the stock music widget?
i know of phantom music control, and there's probably more.
phantom music control is compatible with most media player apps, has several button themes, and has the ability to hide itself when no music is playing.
Hi I updated my Note to ICS (LQ2) and for some reason whenever I listen to music during quiet parts of a song there will be no sound. When the song gets louder then the sound comes back on. This happens when the media volume is low like at 1 or 2. When I turn the media volume up however, it plays normally. Does anyone else experience this? I tried reflashing but the problem is still there. I've also tried other music players and even on Youtube videos the same thing happens.
Can anyone recommend me an app which will increase the volume of Google Maps? My volume is perfect on everything apart from that one app even on max volume.
The other ago I need is one which will let me control volume on different profiles. For example, when I'm listening to music with my speakers plugged in, I don't want to switch to an app which has music so that it plays over the top of my media player, I'd like to setup apps to mute when I have my speakers plugged in.

I am filled with red hot rage whenever I switch apps which use sound (music player, video player, game) and the volume is different. For example, I was listening to music on max volume with my headphones on this morning while walking to work. At work right now I'm testing apps with the volume all the way down so I don't bug my colleagues, but in one of the tests I needed sound. So I plug in my headphones, the music player kicks in and it's played at max volume. I have the music player set to autostart when I plug in headphones for other reasons, but why doesn't it take on the volume I've just set? Why does it need it' own volume setting?
Is it possible to have a module which just uses one volume setting for all apps? You lower the volume to 50% in MX player, it stays on 50% in Poweramp, Trials, Elevate or any other app.
AFAIK, this is not a standard Android behavior. Looks like your player app is trying to remember the last volume
setting it was playing with to later use it when it starts again. Try taking it up with the app developer.
If that's the case, there should at least be an option within app for such behavior.
It's been my experience that if you have the volume ALL the way down (vibrate), plugging in the headphones will turn the volume up. If you just have your volume low but not all the way down, plugging in the headphones won't change the volume. That's just anecdotal, though, so maybe I'm wrong. Is that consistent with what you're experiencing?
