[Q] Camera fix - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Anyone have a proper camera fix for 1.29.707.16 firmware? Tried tons of other camera fix given but still not working. Currently on ElementalX 0.11 kernel.

What "fix" are you needing?

The fix file/zip for the camera. It just went black, can't take pictures or switch to front camera. Tried this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=41712563 and others but no luck

Wouldn't that be a kernel issue and should be asked in that kernel thread?

Well yeah but since I'm a "junior member" and my post count is not more than 10 yet, I'm not capable of posting/replying in kernel's thread That's why I posted here.
EDIT: Nvm I can actually post there now. Silly me. Asking in the kernel's thread instead. -.-

I was like you none zip helped me but I found this one and voila! Camera is now working try it

Nevermind.
I did buy a nexus 4, what can I say I've always wanted a nexus phone and I was irritated when the galaxy Nexus was put on the play store just a day or 2 after my 30 day return Window was closed on my Vivid. However after lots of thought, I decided screw it, might as well keep the Vivid, a good backup phone, and resale value isn't the best anyway, and I regretted selling off the Captivates when I got the Vivids for me and my wife. So I'm not going anywhere, looking forward to the finished product!
Also eta is 5-6 weeks so I'll be using the Vivid quite a bit longer.

I keep debating about getting a nexus 4...only thing holding me back is the no SD slot...16gb isn't enough for me and my 200mb data plan can't support cloud storage :/ (would still keep my vivid...)
Edit...don't respond to this post...just realized it has the potential to lead to non-cm10 related conversation...blame my add

It's all good, as long as we aren't clogging up the development thread. I hear ya on storage, that's why I chose the Vivid over the one x originally. But hey now I can repurpose the Vivid as a dedicated mp3 player

Not the slim world ...this may be biased since I maintained it for the infuse for a fee months...but slim bean is my favorite...light weight, full of features, and stable....it weighs in at 70mbs without gapps and tons of features under its ASS! If you add in gapps its still only about 110mbs...still less then cm10
BTW...Advanced Slim Settings = ASS...its literally labeled ASS in the settings on the ROM lol

So what's the difference between pacman and the other 2 or 3 jb roms that are here?
Sent from my HTC PH39100 using xda premium
IIRC you'd need to flash the boot.img again for rom you want to restore if it uses different kernel.
davebegue said:
I think pac man is like phandroid and aokp combined? Not sure though. Hey any tips on restoring a nandroid... If I flash the pac man one, and then want to go back to my nandroid - does it restore the old kernel/boot.img or should I flash the old boot.img before or after restoring the old nandroid? I am s-on. Skeered o wires
Click to collapse
Since you're S-On, you'll need to reflash boot.img manually. If you were s-off, you can nandroid backup your boot partition, and it will restore as well, but not when you're s-off. You can backup your boot partition, but it won't restore.
ParanoidAndroid introduces Tablet and Phablet modes, as well as per-app DPI and per-app coloring
AOKP adds customizations for the UI, nav bar, lock screen, power menu, etc
PACman combines some of the best features of Paranoid, AOKP, and CM10
Oh so pacman is in other words; best haha

listed as a bug in the OP of the pac thread, and aokp actually. both have borked wifi. Haven't quite figured out what I broke
So I'm not asking for an eta but has anymore progress been made? Seems the thread has been dead since we made this one. Just curious

Weighing in at ~106mb w/o gapps. Eh - no boot though so it doesn't count

I'll take a look at that tomorrow. I didn't notice it not refreshing when I was playing with it, but I'll test a little more in depth. And I definitely wouldn't have noticed a problem with Instagram.. only ever used it once and haven't installed it since.. but I'll throw it on to see if I can find anything..

Btw...I know data has been working for a while now...but i can confirm even lte does...just choose the pta APN and switch network mode to lte/CDMA/gsm
You will then get the 4g symbol with lte speeds (it won't say 4glte)

Trying to record 1080p video crashes for me....
...and playback of 720p recordings is blocky/pixelated for first few seconds.
...and I can't access settings for entering apn ...goes back to general settings...so I can't enable data

Vibration intensity

Hi.. I'm coming from s3 and would like to know if I can adjust the vibration intensity on the one?
Thanks in advance...

you can with a custom kernel like faux

Thanks but that really sucks.. Such a basic feature not available as standard...!
Is the kernel suggested based on stock as I wanted to stay as close to stock as possible?
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 2
Guys.. Unfortunately I can't find the link to this kernel and without this variable vibrate intensity I'm afraid I'll be forced back to Samsung plastics!
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 2
Go back to Samsung if your main concern in HTC1 is the vibration intensity.

Thanks for a really positive reply... Yes it does bother me... A lot as it's stupidly loud/strong and it's a basic feature that should be included in the stock rom! I like a discrete vibration for my notifications... What's wrong with that?
Plus it's a software feature that could be easily implemented... I'm not asking for any hardware miracles... I'm glad to move away from Samsung (and I am a big Samsung fan) because of their cheap looking plastic construction... I also want htc to do well as its good for competition... They've won me with the hardware but there are certain things that bug me which i miss and want a work workaround

Nothing at all. I noticed this too. Its with all htc phones. IMO, the vibration is too loud. Yeah a custom kernel fixes it

Lol who would ever touch a plastic device again. And if you don't know where the kernel is then my guess is your just an average user. Faux123's kernels are not for average users and are more focused to power android users.

What really annoys is that it's a software feature that wouldn't cost htc anything other than a little development time to implement... Being stubborn doesn't get a company anywhere... Look at Nokia for example!

That's what I don't like when companies try to impose rather than giving customer the choice...that's why I don't have an iPhone because Apple are very stubborn and impose their stupid ways onto their customers! Android is meant to be different as it's open source and customisable...
I also miss the shortcut toggles in the notification bar but I've read somewhere that mods are available...

You hear little this noise?
If yes, all One that i tried have this noise.
So i think is normal.
Is very low
Maybe with x.xx.xxx.13 base this problem is solved or with a custom kernel
Thanks my friends, I'm glad if it's not a defect

White light under the two sensors?

So, I have this white line of light under the two light sensors in the top left. It's only visible at a extrem angle, tilting the phone so it almost stands on its head. Is this normal or should I get it replaced?
Here's a picture of it.

The purple camera thing is due to the phone being hot.. the Older HTC one's had improper heat shielding that wasn't sufficient enough to cool the camera. Send your device to HTC they'll fix it for free. atleast they did for me
