I noticed that the nook hd (not hd+) doesn't have any roms out for it except for this and this says sdcard. so my question is is there a cm10.1 that you can flash to the system(eMMC) of the nookHD using the CWM sdcard from here or is there still the locked bootloader problem?

ok well how do you then? because i dont know why but the [Nook HD WIP] Dual boot stock and CM10.1 Hybrid 2/21 runs horrendously slow, not sure why, because when im typing it runs really fast its just when i tell it to do something it runs extremely slow.

'How do you then' what? I just said it is not done. And what I meant by that is no developer has made anything available to make it happen.

Apologies if this is a stupid question. I have a rooted HD+ with stock. If buy one of these (USB gender changer) can I then mount external USB drives? This is not a deal breaker or crucial just a matter of curiosity.
No you would need a cm based rom

Thanks I suspected as much.
If you don't want to change your Nook you could setup VeryGreen's development SDcard which does not change the Nook but also gives you access to the cool features. I am doing that running stock rooted and booting to the SD when I need a feature that isn't available on the Nook software.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I found the FTP facility in ES File Explorer and that does everything I need to do.
Hi, I managed to succesfully root my Nook HD thanks to the excellent tutorials here.
Everything is running smoothly except for video.
A mp4 file which was running smoothly on my stock Nook and VLC now stutters and shows artefacts.
I tried MX player as well and that now has the same problem.
I changed the settings around but nothing helps.
Has anybody had the same problem?

Well CM10.1 is a totally different operating system from stock. Sometimes things don't run the same as stock. Post your question in the CM10.1 thread and maybe more folks can help.

Ok thanks . On a side note; I installed diceplayer and this does play it smoothly.
So I think I'll just use that.
I am going to be installing cm 10.1 sometime this week, but first I wanted to know if I would still have the barnes and noble shop app and the nook ereader software.

If you install CM10.1 to internal memory, no. It replaces stock and those things only work on stock. However there is an Android version of the Nook reader app that works on CM10.1.
But if you install CM10.1 to SD, stock is left intact and you can dual boot.

It is the Android Nook Reader app that is usually on Play Store. But unfortunately Play Store blocks installing it on the HD/HD+. The solution is to get it on the 1mobile.com store.

Yes because it gets downloaded to the wrong folder. Do not have it install it automatically. Boot to recovery and look in internal memory 0/cyandelta.

What do you mean you checked the file?
You need to download the file, then boot to recovery, install zip from internal memory and look in /0/cyandelta and flash it.

It is exactly like cyandelta does it. It takes the Delta file and makes a whole new rom in that location. So when it flashes, it is just like you downloaded a complete ROM. It is a dirty flash so all your apps and settings remain.
But you have to complete everything in the cyandelta menu except the last step which is booting to recovery and flashing the newly updated ROM zip. You do that manually.

That's mean cyandelta only fresh new rom without wipe ??

It means that file in that folder is just like you had downloaded it directly from CM. No need to wipe.

Getting info from you is like pulling teeth. What device are you running? What operating ROM were you running when it developed the boot loop? And describe the boot loop. What logos show and how far does it get when looping? How did you try to install the stock ROM? Did the install complete successfully? What do you mean it won't go when you wipe data? The data wipe does not complete or it completes but still boot loops?

Thank you. But I'm afraid I have bad news for you. With some HD+ running CM11 it does truly brick. I suspect it has to do with CM11 running trim automatically on devices with the buggy emmc chip. And your symptoms match that (the device becomes essentially read only). I know of no known fix. You tried the ones I would recommend and it did not help.
Sorry
Edit: you can still use your device running a special version of CM on SD. Search the dev forum for noemmc. Verygreen made a ROM that will run on SD for bricked emmcs. I think succulent even made a CM11 version.

Not if it still shows the cyanoboot logo. B&N says that voids the warranty.

Just by flashing the stock ROM back, which you can't do.
