interupted when partition process running, fone drop, Voltage error, formatting to many times, ignoring pit mapping, too many times doing repartition with odin, fone heating, sudden changing partition system when upgrading, so much thing could cause internal to suffer serious bleeding
FYI in this almost 3 years i been using i9000, i only formatted it for 5 times, only, either using odin or flashing using cwm or repartition internal doesnt force me to format internalsd.
u cam mess, throw or even step on external sd, it can be change anytime, but internal? only mr adam with his UNBRICKABLE MOD can bring back zombie i9000 to life

Normally means its bricked if it freezes on flashing the factory file
Did you perform any factory resets while on ics?
Sounds like superbrick, have you got warranty?

So that's a workaround that will repartition your chip, means you will lose some space on internal SD.
Can you let us know how much space you lost? Its usually around 3 to 4gb, but have seen as high as 5.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
It is possible to try and regain some of that lost space, but its very time consuming, There is also a way you can swap the memory around, So your external SD will become internal and vice versa, Pretty neat if you have a 16gb+ external sd.
Although with the brickbug bug, Id much rather keep all my precious stuff on my external sd just incase.
See this link - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=28057775

how to repair bad sector on internal storage

hi there...just superbricked my n7000 n got recover by using manual re-partition...after manually repartition i notice that about 3gb space on internal storage cannot be use that we called bad sector...now i just have about 9gb internal storage...is there other guide or technic to gain the 3gb bad sector back...
sory for my english...
Don't know if it would work or not, bad sects ore are usually marked as such due to being physically unusable, but you could run e2fsck (Google it) via terminal emulator. Or run DD (again, Google) with dev/null being the source file, that would wipe out any corrupted data, may have to be run more than once, two seems to be the magic number when used to do a routine wipe on my phone.
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium
By repartition you will get your note working again, but *will* loose about 3gb of your internal memory. No solution to it.
Even if you do manage to unmark the bad sectors, it will just get your phone to the position it was in before you repatitioned. I think it will be as good as bricked again.
Better option, if your binary count is zero, you are on stock kernel and your note is under warranty, get it replaced under warranty.

Use "triangle away" download from google play. It will reset binary count to zero and remove yellow triangle.
After that brick it again and send to ssc for claim new mobo.

Hi All,
Recently I've also super-bricked my phone. I've tried reparation by pit but I loose precious 3GB from Internal memory.
then again I've bricked my phone and gave to SSC. Hope I get e-mmc replaced.
BTW
I'm from INDIA. I told SSC that I was just upgrading my phone and they said it is "dangerous" to upgrade phone at home .
Edit: Got my phone from SSC with new board.

[HELP] Galaxy Note GT-N7000 keeps rebooting after 10-15 seconds of usage!

I just got this Note USED and it's been rebooting on 4.0.2 and I upgraded the firmware to 4.0.4 thinking it would fix it, and it made it worse! It rebooted every 10 seconds. I tried rooting and installing a custom rom and kernel, but it kept rebooting! I removed the SD card and STILL rebooted. I tried wiping and factory resetting, still no luck. I tried different Kernels but I got a yellow triangle, so I tried to download TriangleAway but I couldn't access the market fast enough to download it without rebooting! I searched all over the forums and I can't match any problems anyone had, all the answers were mumbo jumbo take out sd card blah blah. please help! I've been working on this for 5 hours straight!

Yes. It's worth installing a safe kernel after installing ics. Can guide when you're there, but read Dr ketans thread on rooting procedures.

Can you go to settings and check the storage numbers? I'm wondering if it's got a damaged emmc chip. If so it would read under 11.9 gb internal sd card. If this is the case you'll need to flash a custom cm based or deodexed rom as they don't write to damaged partitions.

okay, I went ahead and installed various AOSP/AOKP Roms. And the problem still persisted. I'm starting to think it might be a hardware problem, or maybe a battery problem. I've basically worked 20 hours on this haha!
Have you tried running it without your sim card as well? Also without battery, just plugged into a wall charger.

Have you tried to boot into recovery? does it reboot as when in recovery or stable?
One reason could be damage in emmc in some location. So if it is stable in recovery try to use the partition scanner tools from hg42 to see if it detect something:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1823918
Hi there, I installed a stable release of CM9, and I had reboots but not every second, it reboots every 10-20 mins, but a friend of mine told me they had the same exact problem as I do but with a different device. All he did was buy a new battery and it fixed. (Maybe because the battery is defected and isn't sending enough juice to the CPU and GPU, thus causing reboots). I'm getting a new battery soon, hoping it will fix it. And I could boot into recovery but sometimes freezes, which I think is still a battery problem.
I did with the SIM card, still reboots. I haven't tried the battery thing because I never knew that was possible and I will do it soon.

Should try to borrow another working battery. But should also give it a try with partition scanner to see what it tells.

[Q] Note constantly freezes and crashes

My Galaxy Note keeps freezing and/or crashing without any reason, even when using light apps like Gmail or Evernote. Nonetheless, it runs 3D games without crashing. It's pretty random. Sometimes it unfreezes, sometimes not. Tried factory reset, tried everything. No success.

That means you've likely got damaged emmc chip. Did you perform any wipes under ics? Freezing os is a symptom of emmc damage as part of the system resides on the damaged partitions and can't be read. Cm based roms often work best under these situations.

Use a rom that's not of a huge size as CM10 or slim Bean. it will work the best in this case. But how did u get emmc damage? did u brick ur phone b4 or bot a used one? How much is the phone storage?

Total Internal storage 1.97 GB, total USB storage 8.24, SD card 14.94.
yes this has been repartioned using custom pit file or manually. that's y usb is showing less value. usually it's 11.07 GB.
This has left a 2 to 3 GB bad block in the memory due to which huge roms like stock ones will not work properly. Go for small roms. shud work without any issue.
You've got a re-partitioned internal sd card, it should read 11.9gb not 8 something. With a reconfigured internal storage its often the case that you can only use cm based roms like cm9/10,paranoid android etc as they are about 150mb versus 800mb of stock ROM. Sorry dude. If you've got warranty, I'd claim it after recreating brick.

Avoid using poor quality SD and avoid using exFAT and stuff over 32GB (which is only recognized by very, very few recovery versions). Under-32GB FAT32 on a good quality card should be just fine.

OOPS, my apologies - if the problem is on internal memory things are probably more complex - you might need to repartition with Odin in download mode (and using the right partition file for you type of device)
If that fails too it is probably a hardware failure
Thanks imma try that first and see how it goes
