Yes if your bootloader is unlocked. SafeStrap and Rom if not.
Quicker to fastboot -- only 3 commands
fastboot -w
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img

And have problems with radio? Or others

I have installed it with rsd with no issues, except the lte symbol shows 4g but it's just an icon issue lol otherwise stable and with no issues i found

when I am on the stock rom mine shows the 4g symbol but when I go to the 4.1.2 mex rom it only shows 3g , the 3g goes blue lol so I assumed it was just a quirk now I am wondering if im only getting 3g lol

Mine's like that as well. Took me checking the AT&T coverage map to realize that the stock rom lies and I live in a 3g only area.

Can always swap icons out with ATT stock. It's in either SystemUI or Framework-res. For icons, all you have to do is drag-n-drop from one apk to the next, no need for apktool or any of that. You need to be deodexed to do this.

CaelanT has a point since it is technically no longer a fruit cake.
Edit:
Having thought about it, the fruit cake I am working on is getting to the point where I should probably remove gapps (even though it is still a fruit cake).
So what exactly is the point with the froyo rom?

[SOLVED] Restricted access changed

The other thread was closed due to use of Spanish I think...
I'm now suffering with this issue.. My city always had a good signal but from last days it started...
Happens every 5min ... Any tip?
____
Solved. Rooted (JB, finally!), installed Batakang ROM and *#*#4636#*#* (doesn't work at stock JB).. switched to WCDMA only..
Didn't have any disconnection again!
Re: Restricted access changed
Do you upgrade to JB?
Sent from my MB526 using xda premium
Yep but it worked great a few weeks!
is a problem with the quality of the phone network, to me was the same but only in places where the signal was not good, it is a problem of the radio that comes with JB
if we get root.. is it possible to change radio?
Re: Restricted access changed
I think thats a boot loader thing? But if flashing via recovery can then yes.
Sent from my MB886 using xda app-developers app
Even with the locked bootloader?
Re: Restricted access changed
That I highly doubt
Sent from my MB886 using xda app-developers app
I think this is not network fault..
I think that it happens only when the phone gets hot and the 3G is in use.. It won't happen while I'm at wifi
Thanks Dan to root my phone! It is finally working perfectly now
did I miss something, can you all say if it's the phone or network. Have a dual sim Huawei G500 works fine if both slots uses the same network. But once the other network is introduce, problems!!!

Hi, what i did to solve this is installing phone info and with it i can choose the network type. for some reasons when 4g signal isn't good enough it gives that error so i switch to gsm only and i never get that error in my house wich is mainly where it happens.
hope this helps you.

So homeslice can stop saying ****.
Sent from my Vivid 4G using Tapatalk 2
Its Chinese not Korean. And seeing as its just our official cyanogenmod ROM with a touchwiz theme it should be OK to talk about it here I think. There is a camera app in the play store called cam dictionary that can translate using the cam. I think I actually have that ROM on my PC I'll take a look in a bit.

Formated /modem, I Need Help!! No phone service, no Wi-Fi (FIXED)

Trying fo fix an error I accidentally formated /modem in my Atrix HD. Please help me, I don't have phone service right now! What do I do???
SOLVED
When you do have this issue, first of all you need to flash with RSD Lite. Check this thread and follow the steps (Say thanks to the OP): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2231249
When you have phone service active, you will notice that Wi-Fi is not working.
Here is what I did to make it work:
First of all, download the file that I attached.
You need root access!
Extract it with 7Zip or Winrar.
Use a file manager like Root Explorer (I couldn't make it work with ASTRO)
In the file manager, give it root access.
Copy the unzipped .bin file to your phone.
With the file manager, paste it on "/persist"
If you can't copy it there, you will need to set RW permission to /persist
If there is another file with the same name already, delete it.
Reboot phone.
Enjoy!!!
I am using a company from Mexico so the AT&T solution won't work!

Oh god, thank you so much! I followed this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2231249
Unfortunately,I don't have Wi-Fi connection. I haven't tried data services yet, but my guess is that I just need to set up the APN. Do you have any idea how to fix the Wi-Fi thing?
Again, really, thank you very very much!
It's weird because I already used 3 different NON-KLOS.bin files to flash the modem but the Wi-Fi still not working.
The data service is working and the phone service too, but I just can't get the Wi-Fi to work.
I already flashed 2 times with RSD Lite, and still the same. I checked and verified every thread with the word "Wifi" here but still without luck.
Any advice?
Which file you flashed using Rsdlite?

I took them from here:
http://sbf.droid-developers.org/dinara/list.php
I flashed with RSD Lite the Retail Mexico (I couldn't flash the others), but downloaded and extracted all to get the NOS-HLOS.bin. I flashed every single one of them with fastboot, different combinations, erased modemst1 and modemst2, but still the same.
It is weird because there are people saying that it worked for them. Maybe my phone is doomed.
Is weird because once you go stock again it should fix everything for you to start all over

The APN is right, in fact I have data services but no Wi-Fi. The issue is that I have limited quota (250mb, believe it or not), that's why I need the Wi-Fi.
ProBAM does include modem as well? I just tried ParanoidAndroid (nice room, btw) but still the same. I am already downloading ProBAM, will report results again. Thanks!

Flashed with RSD Lite again, tried that but still not working.
Extra info: I tried to format /firmware and it throws the following error:
E: format_volume: make_extf4fs failed on /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/modem
Error formatting /firmware!
I makes a reference to the modem, does it sound familiar to you? I am still searching for another solutions
Here are some screenshots of the phone.
As you can see, first of all, the Wi-Fi option shows like if it were unavailable from the Menu.
When I enter, I can move the slider, but it returns back to OFF. It shows the message of turning on, but it doesn't do anything else. The two buttons of the left are unavailable, too.
When I enter in advanced options, the Wi-Fi doesn't have a MAC Address.
As far as I know, everything else works fine (I haven't tried the bluetooth), but I don't know what else to do.
I already did:
Like 10 RSD Lite flashes with the Mexican Retail.
Manual flash step by step with fastboot
Changed multiple NON-HLOS.bin files manually with fastboot
Wiped system, cache, data, etc, etc
Set up APN correctly (Data is working, BTW, but not Wi-Fi)
Format /modem again and tried the same procedure with slight changes
Erased modemst1 and modemst2 manually
Flashed multiple Custom ROMs
Used multiple different fastboot files
Everything following every step provided in the posts.
Still not working. Not even a clue what to do. Maybe I am ignoring an important step?
Please, can anybody help me?
Important detail: My phone is from Mexico, not AT&T, I bought it in Mexico, and it came with Mexico Retail Stock.

Just found this thread and read through it.
I have US AT&T and unfortunately made the same mistake you did of erasing the /modem directory. I tried everything you did, and ended up with the same issues.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=46155106&postcount=163
The only thing that worked for me was fastboot flashing the US JB from where you found the firmware (the Mexico JB only worked with data):
http://sbf.droid-developers.org/dinara/list.php
Why can't you flash US? What error do you get? Can you try flashing US from this?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2226527
Currently, the only thing that is working for me (trust me, I have tried EVERYTHING except for Halo Blur ROM, which I may as it is close to stock) is a combination of:
1. Flashing US Retail (data/wifi works)
2. CMB rom (everything works, but phone seems to drop out).
I've noticed that NONE of the JB roms seem to have good radio performance, which has been disappointing as that's why I got this phone (from an HTC One!). It may just be that the reporting is off.
My next step is going to be:
1. AT&T stock JB with Halo
2. AT&T stock JB only
3. AT&T ICS

Mokee Open Source Rom

Has anyone tried this one yet? Doesn't appear like it gets many downloads. The builds are unified though.
http://download.mfunz.com/?device=moto_msm8960dt
Edit:
Flashed it this morning and everything worked fine. Pretty smooth. I'm not a fan of the third party apps it comes with though.

I went back to CM for today but I can update the OP tomorrow morning with some screenshots. There are some YouTube videos of the ROM too. It's basically like most aosp roms out there but I was surprised to see it still has Halo included.
ROM works good like other aosp Roms. Everything seems working but in call audio issue is on this ROM too. There are not much customization like liquidsmooth but it's not bad ROM

I tried to install this but I'm stuck in boot. And then I try to reinstall when it did. I got pass boot but it got stuck on preparing android device and its in Chinese. I'm not sure if I did it right tho coz I didn't really erase my internal storage coz I don't have a PC or usb-otg to put my back up
