Download a 3rd party remote or live with it. It is not there because your TV stations doesn't support online content feeds. So just select whatever country you want on the setup until you finish it then just use the learn/manual function of the remote and use it against your TV.

Just randomly choose something. When the phone does not have a profile for the device you want to control, it will start a step by step guide on how to create your own profile. Basically, the guide will ask you to point the remote at the IR blaster on the phone, and the phone will record the signal.

Thanks guys now I can use it.

It's listed as including BLE API's. The question I have is if this is lost if you load up a customer rom?

HTC One cannot receive pics via NFC from other devices..is it a fix or workaround?

I was just checking out NFC on my One with my Samsung Galaxy Axiom. Everything seemed to work fine except the ability to receive pics. When the pic on the Axiom shrunk and I pressed it to beam, The HTC One recognizes it but then goes to the Play store and displays the message "Item not found...Retry"
have anyone else encountered this issue or know of a fix for this?
I experienced the same on an S4. I could send a picture but not receive one. Was sent to the play store. I installed a few nfc apps and still was unable to receive.

I may call HTC about this...they advertise it and recognize it as though you can send pics via NFC to any device, they both must have NFC and have it turned on.
This is not a big deal breaker for me, but I am a little upset about it. When I had my S4 (that I traded for the One) it worked great sending and receiving pics via nfc.
oh well, hopefully some more people can chime in...
Thanks for replying
I couldn't send or receive anything by NFC between phones until I installed and used superbeam (really any NFC app should work though). From my understanding the trouble with built in NFC apps is that they seem to be proprietary. So a galaxy will communicate very well with another galaxy, and nexus 4's are buddies, but they don't mix between brands in my experience. But again third party apps can solve the issue.

Yes it is.
Interesting, again that's just my own limited experiences so far. But for my One that's what I had to do anyway.

I'm going to agree. there's never a problem while sharing files with same manufacturer. I have Xperia S and I can easily share pictures and files with another Xperia device. But when I try same with Galaxy S2 Galaxy S3 or even Galaxy S4, they don't even recognise that something is about to shared.
I'm not so sure about superbeam
if your phones basic configuration doesn't allow you to share files than how would a third-party application can override and send files ?
Superbeam is a neat app, however thats not what I was talking about. With superbeam you have to be one WiFi ..this WiFi direct.
I'm trying to receive pics via nfc. I can send them fine.

All you have to do is enable NFC on the phone to enable it, which the OP did so the phone was ready. Superbeam doesn't website anything, it's just a client that allows you to utilize NFC. The phone just needs a universal client like that.

You can't transfer anything by just NFC, it can't support high enough teacher rates. NFC is only the initial communication between devices that sets up the transfer, then either bluetooth or wifi direct MUST take over to do the actual transfer. So really there's no other way to do it, that's just how NFC works regardless of which so you use.
Also (just in case you were curious) wifi direct is not really the same thing as wifi. A wifi direct connection is a temporary private network between just the 2 devices that fits not require either to be connected to an Internet wifi network. So the transfer doesn't occur through the Internet. Think of it like bluetooth but with higher transfer speeds

Right ...I understand that. However on devices, that I used to when I sent /received pics which was Galaxy Devices and Sony devices as well as Motorola Devices. When I used those devices, I did notice that Bluetooth was automatically turned on and used in order to send the pic via nfc.
Which is fine. But what I'm coming to the conclusion of is that HTC devices do not receive pics from other devices. However they are able of sending them...which is kinda strange to me.

I can't say what the issue you're specifically experiencing is, but I can personally confirm that that my One can receive things using this. I just did it last week by using wifi direct established by NFC. I do definitely think it's weird if you really can't receive though...
Sorry, but why do you think superbeam won't work? I don't mean to push it on you but it did exactly what you are looking for.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong but with SuperBeam don't you pick files you want to send, then a QR code is made then the other person scans the QR Code and it downloads the files to their device...is that how it superbeam do it
With WiFi direct, I assume you have to be connected to WiFi...then...correct?

Superbeam worked for me this time.
One question is....the person would have to have superbeam to send to send the pic then...correct?

Oh haha I understand what's going on, I had the same damn confusion you have to browse the file on your phone (outside of superbeam), select share, and select superbeam from the options. That will then open superbeam and allow you to start the transfer. For example, to share a picture browse it in gallery. And if you can line up the phones just right you can use NFC instead of the QR Code
Nope, you just have to have your wifi active but it does not have to be connected to anything. It will make is own network to connect to for the transfer. No Internet required

Psst... Remember that sending files using NFC such as photos requires android 4.1 and above. On devices on or higher than 4.1, beaming a file should initiate a Bluetooth pairing and transfer automatically.

Haha yeah that is a good option isn't it but some people are determined to use NFC. I get it, it's new, it's exciting, it's full of promise... For the first time you use it... I was excited about it once too

I've just tested the NFC with One and Nexus7 and it works fine.
You don't need bloetooth or Wi-Fi to be enabled to receive or send the file.
The only thing that you have to do is not to move the devices. If that happens during the transfer then the upload will be aborted and you'll get the store message.

For sharing files through wifi direct in HTC is not working. But it does in Samsung.
Superbeam is better for that..
In mine even Superbeam was not working.. Later after rooting, it works fine..
From the threads I gone through, even HTC care says to find a good app for wifi direct..

I think it's country restricted, not a single reason for the device not to meet the requirements. Well I'm sure I'll find the way around it, I was just hoping for someone to come up with a idea

Yeah country restricted. I set mine up on the One 4.2.2 ARHD 12.
Fwiw you don't need the app for anything. Setup can be done through a web browser. It just makes it easier by automatically connecting to the hotspot and stuff

I tried yelp, it seems to be buggy and not working correctly but that might be because I live in sweden. We have swedish yelp so it should work I guess.
It might also be because I'm using custom ROM called liquidsmooth in my galaxy s3, yelp doesnt work always when my screen on my phone is off, so it could be some powersaving feature that turns off GPS and stuff in that ROM, I'm not sure.
It's a known issue. Foursquare doesn't seem to be working at all, and some people have Yelp working intermittently. Neither work for me at all, and never have. I've e-mailed Yelp and Foursquare's tech support departments but it's been months and have yet to receive a response.
no dice here on FoursSQ.. any one heard from the devs ?
Foursquare was working for me while it was in beta. Now it doesn't. Ha

On Yelp.. try disabling "Discovery" on your Pebble Watch. On mine.. Discovery works when enabled but rest doesn't.. if I turn OFF Discovery.. all works but Discovery feature.

In Czech Republic has over 48 thousands active users (3/2014) and still growing, which is no so bad :good:
See at http://www.gosquare.cz/4sq-stats-cz/
Last I checked I got the error that Yelp couldn't access location on rooted, stock galaxy s3. All location settings were good and other Pebble apps a day watchfaces could get weather.
