[Q] App

What is the name of the app that lets you wake up your phone without using the power button?
I have the no lock app but, its not working. I'm using Cm 6 rc3 and Launcher Pro

You are the man ... Thanks I had trackball unlock on but wake was off by default.

power button options

is there a way to add options when we long press the power button? optionto not only shutdown the phone but also reboot.

The CyanogenMod (CM7) ROM, does this. If you can live with that ROM (or any ROM based on that), I can highly recommend this one from wgspoelstra.

does it have the 64RAM hack (freeing up an extra 64 mb ram)

Yes, CM7 uses the vorkKernel which has this hack.

thanks! i have the WGSPOELSTRA on my phone, working great, i am on v.26, i haven't updated to the latest because i'm seeinig some negative feedback on the release

It would be great to use the volume buttons to unlock the screen.
Anyone knows if it could be plausible?

i can't find it again...i knew i found an option that does that... now i'm not sure if it's in the slick custom roms or the WGSPOELSTRA's

CM7 has this functionality.

yan go to CM7 settings --> input --> and volume rocker wake option

Whilst it is possible with stock it's a lot of framework edits. I took a look and hacked together a reboot proof of concept... you have to call an existing function and LG have obfuscated this function in their framework...

Brilliant. I love LG 2X but the power button at the top and volume buttons on the right are a big fail in my opinion. I might be too use to the layout on SGS.
Having said that I don't mind if there is a workaround and this for me is perfect. Thanks.

Volume rocker wake up

Good day friends,
On the Atrix 4g and Atrix 2 there was a way to configure your device so it would wake up from sleep when pressing volup/voldn; of course, you had to be de-odexed and modify policy.jar and some other stuff; does anyone know if there is a way to have the Atrix HD wake up on rocker press?

This is probably not the solution you're looking for, but i believe that magic locker lets you do that.

I suppose there is some sort of setting to have volume rocker wake up phone ?

Yeah, I saw the setting in there while trying out the lock screen, personally I didn't have a reason to use it, but it should be in the main app's settings

Swipe to Wake

So I've seen many people asking for Volume Wake mod on every ROM that comes out. Most people want this either because their Power button is not working or is about to stop.
But I came across something. It's not a ROM glitch cause I've tried it on multiple ROMs.
If you swipe over were the navigation buttons are (i.e. Home/Menu/Back/Search buttons) the screen will actually switch on.

[Q] MOD for wake screen with shake or volume or ...

hi, is it any mod in cyanogen or stock for lg 4x that wake screen with volume or shaking or any other way? i searched and tested some programs but not works good and i think it must implemented in a MOD.
why cyanogen dosnt have it? old versions (7 in my nexus one) had this option...
if its possible to shake wake, Dose shake wake drains battery?
.powe button is in very bad place!

Arararagi rom based on CM has option to wake by pressing vol keys. It is under display settings.

i have that rom and its my only option to volume wake, but want a mod that work in any CM based rom , if its possible. because that rom have many options more and its not last stable CM.
and second question is about shaking phone to wake, is it possible and is it battery drainer?

I'm not sure if this is the right path, but this may help us abit in finding clues??
