Hi.
I'm new to android. I have an Lg optimus 2x P990 stock rom and i want to upgrade to jelly bean. Can you recommend me a stable one? And if it's not to much can u link a tutorial, that i could follow to upgrade ( Where is shown step by step what should i do )
Thank You!
Look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1037751 and may use search function
An ROM recomendation is really hard, but on my opinion this one s at moment most stable and closest to be bugfree

Hi!
You can use any rom with your phone. It does not matter if your phone locked to orange or any other carrier.
ok, but that rom isn't a T-Mobile rom? so it will find signal on orange?

Even if you flash vodafone branded stock rom to your optimus 2x you can still connect to orange. Roms has nothing to do with that your phone locked to what carrier.
If you flash cm10 rom you will find signal on orange
If you flash t-mobile branded stock rom you find signal on orange
If you flash vodafone branded stock rom you will find signal on orange
If you flash unbranded stock rom you will find singal on orange
If you flash chinese miui rom you will still find signal on orange
If you flash any other rom you will find signal on orange
I hope you understand now
If you change rom it does not lock your phone to an other carrier
So last words: It will find signal on orange

Hi
I'm using CM10 but I assume it's the same in CM10.1 . In the messaging app itself there is a notification setting you need to turn on. It might be that.

Dear Friends
I am using unlocked Tmobile HD2 in India
Now if I flash it with custom ROMs will it again lock it to the Tmobile network
Please help me friends if some precautions to be take for flashing
Thanks
No, dont worry, once unlocked it cannot be re locked.
Do NOT try to flash any stock roms except tmous stock rom. Example never flash the stock India rom,,, all stock roms will destroy your phone. Only use roms that say " tmous compatible," or "leo1024" or similar.

If I flash the official Tmobile UK ROM..will it relock itself
Thanks
Ohhhhh right, in future don't say "t mobile hd2", its unnecessary, confusing and you will get wrong advice.
also, this "t mobile" section isn't for you, its for t mobile USA, which is kind of a different phone.
Answer no, it will never be re locked.

hd2 rom update
Hi, i use an US t-mobile HD2 in Hungary. Its unlocked.
ROM version: 2.13.531.1. I like to update the rom to 3.14
I found on t-mobile's site some instructions, and the new rom.
My question is: when i update ROM with original t-mobile ROM(3.14), can it be re locked?? Thanks (sorry for my bad english)
No it will not be relocked by flashing a new ROM (stated many times in many threads including this one)
If flashing you would be best looking at Energy 29017 custom ROMs unless you have a very good reason to want flash original ROM.
Custom ROM is superb & functions far better than any latest operator build.
I had T-Mobile 3.14 & flashing to Energy 23699 build ROM is like jumping forwards 2 years in software development (probably closer to a decade at MS development speed)
i have been using maglr 1.13 i think im locked out now i open up a daf an it reads Readme.txt for this release is missing.can someone steer me in the ridgt direction
Steer yourself at Google and type "magldr rearmed.txt missing", loads of results.
Hello
Something weird as hell is happening to my lg 2x (p990h), I am from Sao Paulo, Brazil
Last week everything as fine, using Vivo as carrier, no problem, but the device did not work with TIM (no know reason), but it was no big problem since Vivo is my phone co.
But now Vivo does not work here, and I can only use Claro SIM card to make it work and i HATE Claro.
What happened to my phone and what I can make to get it back to work proper ?
I even reflashed baseband to see if it was not a baseband problem, and nothing, same problem
Went to Vivo store to replace the SIM, and even so no luck...
Installed CM7 to see if I could recover some stuff by placing a custom ROM, and nothing...
It recognizes the networks by their names, but no phone signal at ALL, and when I try to register at the mobile network settings, it just can´t get anything
Tks
I think thats a problem of vivio, got you a signal in an other town ?
Gesendet von meinem LG-P990
You didn't wrote what exactly happened. I Flah stock rom (v20s) and find matching ril. Then try again.
CM7 require V10 ril only.

Hi

I actually found BIN_LGP990AT-00-V20q-EUR-XX-JAN-24-2012-0
That Europe one is best suitable for Brazil
And vivo used to work with no problem before
So if i use this ROM it will be ok ? Ir do i have to fix another stuff to make it get signal ?
tks

If you flash stock rom, you don't need to xhange/fix anything. It is needed only on NON-STOCK based roms.
Cheers.

Hi
tks
I got it now, and my phone is back and good
But Vivo still not working here, dunno why or even if the carrier blocked its IMEI number, because it was working fine until 15 days ago
But Claro is working fine
Do you know anything that could be resposible for that ?
tks
Hello all!
I am a noob so apologies in advance if this is not where it should be and not described how it should be.
My father in law yesterday had an galaxy s3 lte i9305 Orange upgrade and gave it to me! I however am on Vodafone so with my tiny little brain I set out to flash the phone with a Portuguese Vodafone firmware! This has not allowed me to use my UK Vodafone SIM and now left the phone with the custom firmware.
Is there any way at all I can reload the original UK firmware in order to sell the phone??
Any immediate help will be greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks

You don't have to sell it unless that is what you want to do.
You can have it SIM unlocked for about £17 on web.

I did have a brief look at this but none of the sites I looked at had the s3 lte just the s3 as an option, are the unlock codes likely to be the same?
I will try this now. The portuguise version I have has th UK option but a few portuguise apps also download and the default language is obviously portuguise. I really would like to restore it to original if there is a way.
thank you very much for taking the time to respond.

Hi guys, I'm a big n00b in terms of flashing as well.
I'll get a i9305 from Hong Kong in a few days, which obviously will have a HK firmware on it. The problem with that firmware is that it only supports 6 languages. I live in Norway and want my phone to be in Norwegian so I wonder if those firmwares from the UK support all languages or only the language of the region included?
Thanks in advance.
To restore original UK Rom download checkfus from the market and write down all the info for pda phone and csc etc and enter them on the pc checkfus app and download the Odin Rom from there!

If you want to install the official Everything Everywhere (Orange) LTE firmware, download and run Check4us. This lets you choose model and region then provides firmware options. Select the UK version, download, flash with ODIN and you are done. All back and working as a new Orange set up. As it's a vanilla Samsung install you might find it works for Vodafone although you will need to search the web for Vodafone APN settings and update the phone accordingly.
Hi I have as listed above a samsung galaxy s3 lte i9305 does anyone no where I can download a jellybean 4.2.2 rom all the ones I have tried dont work on the ee network

HI. I am in the UK, on EE, have an i9305 (Galaxy 3 LTE) and have tried a few different ROMS and have had absolutely no problems on 4.2.2.
I tried the Supreme ROM 4.1.2, but upgraded to the LiquidSmooth ROM 4.2.2, v2.2 (STABLE) and have had absolutely no issues. In fact, I would recommend it to anyone.
Why do you go in and select the Carrier? Whenever I have flashed a ROM, it has automatically selected EE as the carrier. Is your phone unlocked?
Don't know what's wrong with your situation. Are you wiping properly before installing each ROM? Are you installing Gapps with each ROM?

If you're getting the T-Mobile network, you don't need to unlock your phone. You can try out various websites like HTC-Codes for a paid code to unlock your phone. There is also a free option, but it's a bit involved and relies on your phone being on 4.1.2 firmware. URLs are -

I got Liquidsmooth from - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2149746

Never had that problem tbh, but make sure data connection is enabled in data usage settings.
Failing that make sure you have the right apns installed in mobile network settings (I'm on orange and have orangeinternet and orangemms). If in doubt, ring them and ask you to send your Internet settings to your phone for you.

Hello,
maybe someone can help me or at least talk to me:
I purchased a new, sealed and locked I8190N in Germany, from TCHIBO Mobil. They are subproviders in the network of O2, j4yi.
To use the phone with another provider, I purchased an net unlock code from Ebay. I received the codes (NCK and SPCK) after some days from the seller, which do not work for me. It says something like "problems while running unlock process". Unfortunately the seller is an imposter, as he does not give me refund even I was able to show the codes he sent me do not work. But this is another story. :silly:
My question would be: Is there a stock rom I can flash to my phone? I checked my phone, at the moment 4.2.1 is installed, with I8190NXXANA1 as baseband. The last hint could be unlocking it at a phone dealer shop in town, because I was told unlocking with cable is more likely to help if code does not work. But who knows... I'm used to flashing mobile phones, running CM on my Motorola Defy all the time. But with Samsung and the special NFC version I got, I do not know wether I can use CM I8190 (without N) for my phone. Or if I should unlock it at a dealer somewhere in my town before starting flashing anything.
Thanks a lot for help and reply! :good:
afaik, you dont need phone unlocked from service provider to flash custom rom, phone just needs to be rooted.then flash rom with custom recovery. stick to roms suitable for n, i have n version & run virginity rom, but try a few & see which you prefer, there is a lot of great talent here.be careful & enjoy.

Thanks. I only wonder if it is maybe not possible to unlock it afterwards any more (after I have flashed CM). I will go to local dealer, to see if they can unlock it.

You said your Android version is 4.2.1 Do you mind sharing what's your devices' model number, 'cause GT-I8190 runs android 4.1.2 and GT-I8200 runs 4.2.2. I haven't seen anything like your firmware on the S3 Mini (official by Samsung, that is)
