Heu guys,
As the title states, I would love to know (shortly ofc) if the LQE firmware version performs better than the Serbian LQB one. I've installed via Odin the Serbian one earlier this year and I wanted to know if the (for example) UK version of the LQE is performing better since I've noticed some issues with multi taskong on this one.
And by the way, is a factory reset required after the Firmware Odin Instalation, in order to work smoothly?
Thank you very much,
Adrian

if you have problems Factory Reset is the only solution for you but if it run smooth, no
the difference between LQE and LQB is that LQE has no lockscreen shortcuts unlike LQB but performance wise LQE is somewhat better. but if you want to try most custom roms like CM LQB is recommended.
I've just done a factory reset but I'm observing the same situation. The phone is sometimes lagging so hard, the screen goes black and the response is like 30 seconds - 1 minute later. Is there any solution to this?

Only the German version of LQE lacks the option for lockscreen shortcuts. All the other LQE firmwares have that and if you look at my signature you can have 4 shortcuts I Like the LQE Luxemburg very much, so far. Tried the brazil latest debloated of tim stuff, and it had issues with media scanning using a lot of battery and ram so went over to the xxlqe from Luxemburg. It is a bit smoother than the LQB imho.

get rooted, and install cocafe's kernel. you'll find it in the development section. search root.zip and you'll find that too
I was afraid that I will be forced to install a custom rom. The worst thing about this is that I know nothing about rooting and installing a custom Rom. It seems that I will need to find a tutorial for the "I know **** about Android" users.
Thank you Bob. I will have the phone flashed with the Luxemburg LQE and then search for a tutorial on rooting and installing a custom rom.
The reason for not installing and not being interested in installing a custom rom is my fear of getting my phone bricked.
Hoping it's gonna go well.
Thank you again!

I don't use any custom rom I love the stock, with just my mods which makes it look how I like. It is the kernel from cocafe that makes my phone rock!!
So reconsider if you wish to stick to stock. One thing, I do use holo launcher with a few extra options you can explore... nothing against the rom builders meant by any means just my personal taste. just sayin'
Sorry, I must have confused custom roms with the kernels..anyway..i'm having a friend over to my place tomorrow to install me the cocore's kernel since he's an android guru and I'll let you know how it went.
And regarding the Ui, i don't really care how it looks as far as i can send a message smoothly while i'm listening to music or surfing the web. I just want to feel that dual core processor..
Thanks!

cam i use this rom with baseband .58 in italy or what can i do for testing this rom? thanks in advance
I just wanna say "Thank you" for this good rom.
I like the style, everything is very polished!!!
I have one single problem:
After using bigger apps as Google Maps or anything like this, the launcher flies out of the ram.
It must have something with one of the optimizations you made.
On stock rom, this never happens, but stock rom has about 30 megs less ram free.
But Launcher kicking isn't good, takes 25 seconds to rebuild.
Can we anything do against this?

Hi, n0ob here again
I on stock at&t ics ruu and the I'm jealous of all the other ppl with other phones with the standard cool ics blue battery .
I'm using go launcher and I prefer to keep using it.
so is the any flash or app to get the ics blue battery status ?
Thanks in advance....
I think you mean how to get all the cool stuff on your os ?
If so they are running custom roms and there are some things you will need to do before you can flash custom roms and kernels .
If that is something your willing to learn about I will help anyway I can and there is many of threads on how to to this as there are far smarter users here that are willing to help with the learning process.
Just ask .
Thanks for your reply.
Well I rooted already... Just can't bother with any custom roms for now; was hoping for a cm9, but won't hold my breath for that.
I ain't rom rabid, kernel krazy, or a flash fanatic...
I'm yet to see a Rom for the vivid that I really want to jump on....
I'm hoping for a flash to just change the ics battery colour from the stock green to blue.
Update...
I think I have found something close to what I am seeking...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1561772
not sure if it has the battery though...

didnt for me ether thats why i went to a custom rom
I could change the clock color with it ... Not the battery color, could not get the network carrier name , could not get WiFi icon etc...
if i remember you had to get the paid version to get alot of those to work even then it was still buggy
Rom tool box has it as a built in option... For the pro (paid) version...
Found it out after I tried the lite(free) version...
oh well.
edit.
tried it in the pro version... diddly squat. No change.
UOT kitchen, works great on our phones. IF your rooted than its no problem.
Just google "UOT kitchen"
wow UOT KITCHEN...
this is impressive,
I have seen it mentioned in a few other threads, but never checked it out before.
So from what I have read:.
I just simply chose what ever I like and want to put together as a package, upload my choice and then the chef with cook it up for me and I then download it and flash it ? (Right?)
So if I choose only the battery icon, that is all that it will affect. All the other things in the status bar will remain the same?
I am using wcx recovery , and I saw on kitchen where the say flash with cwm ...I assume this this will be a non issue ... Right ?
Yeah it'll work with wcx, just used it myself Just select your choices, upload the files it asks using a file explorer capable of navigating the system directories ( astro works fine and is free), and submit the work to the kitchen and it'll give you a zip back. Flash the zip with recovery and your all good Just an fyi i can't get the ics animations to work with my holics rom, uot errors every time, might work on stock, but every other mod works great

Rom toolbox won't change that stuff for our phone. I bought it thinking it would, it didn't, I talked to the Dev about it and he said it was something about the file paths being weird on the vivid. I highly recommend NOT using rom toolbox at all if you've updated it recently. It bricked my phone about 3 days ago and even after flashing a new rom it still won't work right.

Hey guys,
Here's just a ROM I have been messing around with called HighOnAndroid "Flyin' High" ROM for Galaxy Note 10.1 Wifi GT-N8013.
Since there's no ROM out now for Wifi versions, here's one you can try out.
It's pretty much based off stock ROM but I removed some bloatware (like Yahoo widgets) and put some features I wanted.
Features:
- GT-N8013 UEALH2 Base (Latest)
- Custom Boot Animation (put bootanimation.zip in /system/media directory with ES File Explorer (and enable Root Explorer/Mount in settings!)
- App2SD (You can read about it here)
- Jelly Bean Animations
- Init.d support
- Rooted/Superuser
- Deodexed/Zipaligned
- Only for those "Flyin' High"
Changelog:
v0.1 Deodexed, zipaligned, init.d support, jelly bean animations, custom boot animations, app2sd.
I am really working on my free time (and trust me I've got a million things to do), this is just something I do for fun. But I will try my best to update it at least once a week.
I do welcome any suggestions for features. Please keep them not "too wild", remember I don't have much time to really do a full ROM development here (Yes, I actually have a life and have to take kids to school like everyone else!) but little hacks here and there I can do.

so here goes,
i have been trying to make a new port based on the RD miui rom, which initially worked out well, with the limits of the Custonexus rom + usb storage sharing which seems incompatible completely for now.
it has been tested , but somehow not lived up to a satisfying degree. the new base is little improved and got the fixes from custonexus rom included to support better handling and enabling/disabling in general (which of course should be perfect now)
anyways, there exists a big drawback on this alpha i will publish, which is it cannot currently use ClockWorkMod to restore to stock or another backup. and i have struggled to solve it, but unable to.
so it comes with a certain degreee of being less perfect, since you need to be experienced in using kdz recovery.
question is, how many would spend time with it, if you cannot use ClockWorkMod to restore (although most should know kdz recovery programs by now) is it worth releasing?
no problem for me..really happy to see u are the only person work hard to make custom rom for LG 4X,,,so no reason for me to buy nexus 4...thanks a lot!!

totally agree and why i wondered. but i checked other sections and there exists worse ports than this MiUI.
but i cannot go back on a XX:1 in favour of releasing it, so here it is. Those that dislike the release, can simply skip it.
my secret agenda is that someone sits down and say i can do much better, and release a new 100% working ROM if possible
thankyou dexter once again for more great work, and in response to Zhus06 - because one has an opinion doesnt mean its favoured by everyone, gratitude should give regardless if one person likes or not

a common developer excuse is simply : we got no chance of compiling a kernel with fixes.
actually in this case it would help MiUI on the vibration fix, since they expect to control vibration with parameters with an updated kernel driver we do not have a chance to fix, so its messes up somehow expecting a newer driver.
and yes, i know there exist appreciation and worth the effort trying to show o4x can actually go all the way, and better if i get my f....
(AND i just got my cm10.1 compile fully sync'd YEAH!!)

I'm not sure any custom ROMs will save you much battery. The stock one isn't bad if you set it up correctly. Custom ROM will give you a different look and feel to the UI though.
Give this thread a read if your interested in battery life
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2382712
In terms of flashing custom code to get better efficiency, I think the DooMLoRD Kernel is probably your best bet with some undervolting action. I believe this only works with stock or stock based ROMs
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2172888
Or for a custom ROM with all the customisability you need try PAC
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2208249
I was also wondering the same thing... I got an unlocked xperia z yesterday for a blackberry z10 (which I did like) but this phone is nice... I was wondering which rom to go with??? I have a nexus 4 which I love dearly and I like this phone too... I just feel like I'm missing something... I love paranoid but I want to still be able to use PlayStation 3 remote... I do own. Sixaxis but like the fact I don't need it... I was also wanting a T-Mobile radio I can put on here and see if I can do better then

Hello
I got a new Xperia Z and updated it with the Stock 10.3.1.A.0.244-ROM.
Since then, My battery life seems to have dropped quite a bit...
So... I'd like to install a custom ROM. But I'm a completely newby, what I want is a fast, clean device with a good battery life - I dont need to much stuff on it.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Dominik

Have you unlocked your Bootloader yet or you want a ROM to go with a Locked Bootloader?

Both PAC and Carbon are great to go with Unlocked Bootloaders, In case you want something that has a taste of stock and has sony's special features included you should go with monxDIFIED or EXCELSUS Z. Although if you have got some good bandwidth and some time to kill, I would suggest you should try all the ones that you feel would suit you.
Yeah, you must find the best suited rom to your personal needs.

Very slim , great battery with very few system apps running in the back ground.
You'll need to unlock your bootloader for this ROM
