I own a pair of in ear headphones that come with
S3 (Tmobile) phones but volume buttons wont work on my Droid 4. I tested them and they work properly on an S3 is there a way to fix this.
Motorola Droid 4
I think the problem might be that the headphones user different standards: CTIA or OMTP.

I have a Jabra BT3030 and paired it with my Galaxy S.
Stereo sound works fine, but my gripe is that none of the bluetooth controls work (back, pause/play, forward). I tried this with another headset (altec), but is still doesn't work. The volume controls work fine though.
Has anyone experienced this?
Is this an android limitation or is it just with the Galaxy?
btw, my firmware is JM7 in case it might be with the firware...

The buttons work fine on my platronics bt. Wait for froyo official as its said to have improved bt headset features
working fine with
Jabra BT8010
Motorola HT820
my car CZ509
and a few other older BT stereo headsets from Sony, Plantonic, etc
I'll suggest to pair it again.
the controls are usually 1 touch for pause/play, double tap for skip next, unless it has its own buttons for that, and... well lots of other combos depending on the buttons setup on the headsets
@allgamer
paired it again and still a no go. it has its own buttons for play/pause, forward, back, volume, answer. basically, its a bluetooth module where i can plug my own earphones.
it's working flawlessy with my omnia hd.
do you know what bluetooth profiles our galaxy s supports?

not exactly, but i do know it supports all the standard stereo, a2dp, avrcp, file transfer, contacts, GPS, phone calls, the only things not supported are HID mouse and keyboard
hmm... something doesnt add up... maybe the rom since i havent tried it with prev firmwares. i'll try pairing again.

I have the same issue. Use SBH650 bt. But it appears only in standart player. I also use Ambling Player for audio books and it works fine with it. My firmware is JM2. Re-pairing doesn't solve this issue.
I'm using Sony Ericsson MW600 & DS980.. both seems fine..
still no go for me... seems the answer/end key does work, as well as the volume keys. so only my playback, fw/rew key don't work. but when i press them, the screen lights up and the touch buttons light up too. i'll try experimenting with a diff player and see if it's just with the samsung misuc player.
OT: DaRkMyk, where'd you get the SE MW600? I've been looking for that for a while now.
MW600 and Galaxy S
I see that a few people use the MW600 with the Galaxy S. I recently bought a MW600, the device is paired to the phone, plays music fine with all the controls working. It is also the default calling device. And this is where I have a problem, when I make or receive a call the called/calling party can hear me clearly but I can't hear anything. I have turned up the volume to max, I have also reset the MW600 and repaired it with the device, turned off the wi-fi on the Galaxy S,. Basically tried most of the solutions that are available. Has anyone else had this problem. I tried the MW600 with some other phones (Nokia X6) and had the exact same problem.
@aridoasis I bought mine here in singapore for S$118. I don't know if it is available there in the Philippines, but you can always buy from eBay & it's also cheaper.
@sandsri I never experienced that problem, have you tried your MW600 on other mobile phones?

Gents (and ladies if there are any about)...
I have a problem with my Note II and am hoping someone can help me out. It's a 7105 and the supplied in-ear headset (with mic/vol buttons) appears to work fine. However, another wired headset that I have (Astro A40) does not. This headset worked fine with all my other phones, including a Nexus S, as headphones and as a handsfree kit (i.e. with microphone functionality etc).
In the Note II, they will only work as headphones, as soon as I try to make a phone-call the little "headset" icon disappears and the audio reverts to the in-built earpiece/mic.
Does anyone have any ideas as to why this may be and what I can do to resolve it? Will my headset (which is awesome BTW) just not work with the Note II?
Any help/tips appreciated.
sf.
Hello,
Although I like my One, the battery and bad camera have to go. Thinking about the G2 but both trips to verizon and att stores left me a bit disappointed. I use Bose In Ear MEI 2 headphones. The One let me use the mic and button on headphones (Jay's Headset Control), however, when using it with the LG mic did not seem supported and even Jays headset control couldn't get the buttons to work for music.
Do you have any experience with these headphones?
Additionally if these don't work are there any headphones that will work letting me speak via mic and use controls for music? I hate taking out the phone everytime I need to change a song.
Thanks!:good:

I just got these today from best Buy Mobile
LG HBS730 Tone+
Now I don't even have to touch my phone. And the battery is lasting from what I see. I might do a full review another time (tons of them on youtube). But ALL features of this headset work including FF and Rewind. Had to take a call with them and the headset vibrated and my caller had no issue with hearing me since they have noise cancellation features.
They said you can connect 2 devices to these things. From reviews, one reviewer had this connected to his phone and his PS3 at the same time. Which is a plus to me so I wouldn't have to disconnect from one device to use it on the other. For music, since I use Viper4Android and the volume boost hack, music sounds great (couldn't tell you from default as I'm not a fan of default volume on Android phones)
But I can testify all controls work and, since both the headset and the G2 are apt-X capable, audio quality is really good (said this earlier I know).
Oh, there is an app that LG makes called BT Reader+ that will read to me any text message or notification I get. Comes in handy when I don't even want to touch my phone to respond to a text right away. Unfortunately, you can't respond unless you use Google Now or Voice command.
I dont understand why your bose wouldn't work. Unless they are designed for the iphone? I have a pair of phonak 122s that have just the single button and they work.

They were designed for the iphone, however they work on my htc one. I originally got them for the iphone.
Looks like it was a bad pair of headphones, my girl stole mine and I used yours, (same ones) one pair worked one didn't, bought the phone can't wait to test it, headphones work nice and proper.
Hi. I heard that any kind of old earphones don`t work on Xperia Z1, Unfortunately. So, I`m looking for advice about using my Xperia Arc`s earphone.
The wiring swapped to be the same as on the iPhone I believe, perhaps back with the Xperia S onwards.
You might be able to get an adapter, but I'd suggest just getting new earphones unless you're really attached to the ones on the Arc!
All normal "3 pin" earphones work just fine (except for a little bit of static noise for a few seconds after plugging in). There will be problems with old headsets though.
Headsets must comply to the new CTIA headset standard!

I should have added that normal headphones are okay, it's anything with a mic or control buttons (e.g. call/end).
Anyone happen to have Bose Sound Canceling headphone (SC model) and try them with their Turbo? I've used a number of different headphones with my Turbo without issue, but for some reason my Bose ones only output sound to the left headphone. I have no issues using them with any other device. Very strange and curious if Im on the only one....
I first encountered that issue on my Moto X. Use the other Headphone wire that came with the Bose (the one without in line volume controls).
I have had no issues with QuietComfort 15. Just used them to and from London with no issues.

Fixed Problem with Bose QC15 Headphones and Motorola Droid Turbo Phone
I had an issue where my Bose QC15 headphones would not work properly with my Droid Turbo. Once plugged in I could only hear though the right headphone. I found a solution on another post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2545405
1. Disconnect the headphones to the phone and start music on any player(Google play or your choice) on the phone.
2. Once the song starts playing insert the headphones into the jack. Imp Note: remove the headset part from the wire.you should only insert the wire without having the headset piece.
3. Now the song will continue to play. Now switch on the headphone and insert the wire into the headphone. It should work now.
All credit goes to member bonthukarthik.
That worked for me. Headphones and mic are working properly now.
Not yet. But i am thinking to try one of them in future.
