Hello all. This is the Glory theme made by Oijkn, not myself. It comes from my Acer Iconia. I liked how it looked on my phone so I thought I would share. This is my first attempt so don't expect perfection I've tested all flashable files myself on XperimenT 2.6 rom, but it should work on any device using the drawable-xhdpi files. Here's some information about it...
Version 1.2
framework.apk
-fixed bad images
--enlarged small ones
--cropped out empty borders
-fixed radio buttons that were being squished
SystemUI.apk
-Recreated 100+ status bar icons to match battery
-New notification panel background
Install:
1. Boot into recovery
2. Backup (or read manual method below)
3. Flash the zip
4. Restart and enjoy
I take no responsibility for anything that happens to your phone from this
Create yourself a quick undo...
PC & Phone Method:
1. Open a file browser on your phone that allows you acces to your system directory (Root Explorer for example)
2. From your "/system/app" folder, copy your "SystemUI.apk" and "Settings.apk" to your SDCARD
3. From your "/system/framework" folder, copy your "framework-res.apk" to your SDCARD
4. Download THIS file
5. Copy all 4 files into one first on your PC
6. Using 7zip, WinRar, or WinZip, open the My_Restore.zip file
7. Navigate into "system" then "app" and "drag and drop" the two files Settings.apk and SystemUI.apk
8. Go back/up a directory then into the "framework" and once again, "drag and drop" the framework-res.apk into it
You now have a flashable zip to restore without doing a complete nandroid backup. Just copy it onto your phones internal/external card before attempting themeing
Android Method:
I use Root Explorer paid version to do this....
1. Download THIS file
2. Open Root Explorer and navigate to your "/system/app" folder
3. Press the menu button, Multiselect, then check SystemUI.apk & Settings.apk and push the Copy button
4. Navigate to the My_Restore.zip you downloaded
5. Long press the file in Root Explorer and "Extract" then "Go to extracted"
6. Go into the "My_Restore" folder then into "system" and finally "app"
7. Now press the Paste button.
8. Navigate to "system/framework" folder(by using the ".. parent folder at the top to get to the root folder then system/framework) , long press on "framework-res.apk" and copy.
9. Navigate to where your My_Restore was extracted (or press the back button until your get to it if you followed the.. methd above)
10. Go into the main "My_Restore" folder which contains META-INF and a system folder.
11. Menu> Multi Select> Select All> Zip and give it a name.
12. Now you can "Go to zip" so you can move it to an easier location to find in the recovery menu
Ill continue to add more as I have time. And if possible, have it available in multiple colors.
Thanks to Oijkn for the Glory Theme 1.1. And to VillainTheme System

It works for me just fine. All this does is theme, not actually add the percent mod for the battery. You can delete the images from the zip before flashing and you'll get everything but the battery.
Anyways... I made wifi/cell signal icons last night. I wanted to match the battery's look, so I created them from scratch with a stock look but the battery's style.

Not sure why the settings.apk would do that. I use XperimenT rom so I can't test. Ill downloaded the rom and check the settings.apk to see if theres something I can do.
As for the bg on the notifications, ill make it into a separate flashable zip or create one to flash back stock. Otherwise, delete notification_panel_bg.9.png inside the SystemUI.apk folder in the zip. Its actually the toast message image. I tried modifying it with draw9patch but it didn't work for some reason. Ends up being stretched like a normal png, but ill continue trying.

I just wonder when the update comes... thanx in adv =)
Ill start working on it again soon. I didn't get much feedback or activity in this thread so I lost my motivation plus I've migrated from writing Windows application to coding android apps recently, so my free time has been spent on the 3 apps I'm working on. But ill work on it and have something new soon. Thanks for your interest!

hi could you add nav buttons bar and a transparent bar, but with the buttons I'm content just greetings and thanks for your work
The navbar was a mod I did, its not part of the theme. Same with the statusbar. I followed the transparent tutorial but used an image I made for the background instead of just making it completely transparent. It involves more than just changing images, but ill upload a zip of it here shortly.
The navbar icons are the zenyth style, but I added a glowing dropshadow. Ill upload them as well.
As far as the theme being worked on, ill try to get at it today but no promises. Between work and everything else, my time to myself is minimal, but it will get done.

How kitchen works
Kitchen originally was build for HTC Desire, but now it supports most devices with Android OS.
Kitchen takes files from your rom and adds modifications you choose.
It works for most custom deodexed roms: Froyo (2.2) and Gingerbead (2.3).
You can use kitchen with stock odexed roms (if you have .odex files in your rom - kitchen works for you too)
How to use kitchen
1. Go to Kitchen page http://uot.dakra.lt/kitchen/
2. Browse through available mods and choose what you need (don't forget to press Generate preview if theris such button)
3. Go to File upload section and upload your files or choose rom from kitchen's list (most roms in the list is for HTC Desire)
Files needed to upload:
Froyo rom: framework-res.apk
Gingerbread rom: framework-res.apk and SystemUI.apk
Gingerbread with sense rom: framework-res.apk, SystemUI.apk and com.htc.resources.apk
Cyanogenmod7 rom: Cyanbread.apk or Androidian.apk or any theme for ThemeChooser (rename as you like it to apear in theme menu)
NOTE 1: if you uploading theme apk - do not upload any other files (you just waisting trafic, because kitchen will ignore additional files)
NOTE 2: Font packs and Bootanimation do not requires uploading files.
4. Go to Summary section. All choosed mod must be in green background. If there is mod in red background - it means you did not finished it.
press Submit work to kitchen
5. Remember UOT file name. You can wait for a kitchen to cook your request, but after 5min waiting will be stopped (nothing to worry about).
6. Go to Pickup page http://uot.dakra.lt/pickup/ and wait for your file to appear (it can take up to 30min or more)
7. Download UOT zip into SD card of your phone
8. Reboot into recovery
9. Wipe cache and dalvik-cache (just in case). Do not make factory reset.
10. Flash UOT zip
11. Reboot phone
How get files for kitchen
Check your How-to page
What to do of the UOT-......... ZIP file
1. Reboot into recovery.
2. choose "install zip from sdcard"
3. choose "choose zip from sdcard"
4. locate your file UOT-... .zip in SD
5. confirm "YES - install UOT ... .zip"
6. wait for script to finish
7. reboot phone
If you cooked file for ThemeChooser - you can unzip UOT and install apk as regular one. After that - select new theme in Theme Chooser and reboot phone.
WARNING! Flash UOT file after you have first boot.
If you flashed new rom, boot up your phone first time
and after that reboot into recovery to flash UOT file.
What to do if you get SHTF error
Kitchen uses inteligent approach to your files and tryes to fix most of errors, but sometimes apk tools fails to recompile your files and kitchen can't do nothing.
If you get SHTF error and want to ask for help in forum - please, mention UOT file name and ROM or Theme you are using. Also, telling your device will be very helpfull.
If you using popular ROM/Theme - you can try to cook our corrected framework-res.apk from the list.

Disclaimer
It took a lot of effort and time from us to make this kitchen and it takes a lot more to maintain it .Users should realise this and appreciate the work done.
Bugs and errors (except decompiling error) will be tried to solve but we need the code you receive back when you upload your file. backups of the same will be kept for 12 hours. so if you have an error respond within that time
We are not responsible for any damage that occurs to your device by the use of the themes created here though if such an unfortunate event occurs do tell us we'll be happy to help
There is a lot more to come in the near future like changing the status bar, icons, notification screen, the popups etc etc.
Suggestions are welcomed for future releases.

So iwent through the whole process and uploaded the cyanbread theme apk. from theme chooser, it completed the upload but when I go to "pick-up" section how do I identify which file is mine?
the "file upload" sevction did give a UOT-xx-xx-xx-x to identify exactly which file is the one I created..
Thanks

It might have been a bug but it was a welcomed one! Please bring it back!
Seriously, is there any way to implement it? The known method (editing notification_config.txt) doesn't solve the problem, it creates an empty space (see attachment). I'm sure I'm not the only one who would use it.
TIA.

I did it using greybread, works fine. I can't seem to get a transparent/25% background working though.
mendozinas,
The resulting apk files that I get back from UOT Kitchen are consistently much larger than what I upload. The only mod I'm using is the battery mod.
For example, I just uploaded the framework-res.apk from ProTekk's #8, which is 3.29 MB. I applied the battery mod and cooked: nothing else. The kitchen returned a framework-res.apk that is now 6.19 MB.
The framework-res.apk I submitted contained 1,156 files. The kitchen added 178 files, which makes sense since it has to create all the battery images. But it also changed an additional 669 files. Why?
It looks like a lot of files are being unnecessarily replaced with less optimized versions that appear the same, but are larger in size.
Example: /res/drawable-hdpi/btn_zoom_page_press.png
Input: 2.98 KB
Output: 3.48 KB
Is there a way to prevent this?

Kitchen is not changing others images. File size can increase because kitchen is recompiling apk.
And it up to apk tools how it treats images.
Kitchen don't use png optimizing.

Only if you are annoyed with the "stock" look, like me.
And because of that, I did some simple mods which were available around and only made it compatible with our lovely Xperia TX.
So all the credits to the initial creator of the mods.
Warning: You need a de-odexed ROM for the mods to completely work.
Try either one of these 2 stock de-odexed ROMs for TX.

For battery percent text only (no battery icon at all). Just remove the stat_sys_battery.xml from your SystemUI.apk. Just use 7zip or WinRar and delete that file in "/res/drawable" folder.
Now, for a much nicer-looking animation - 1% step Battery Icons

Battery_Sense_White_with_percent_inside - Download
Battery_Sense_White_block - Download

But for those who wants center-clock as well together with no-percent-battery-text, dkownacki has you covered here.

I know Search is redundant since we already have the "Google Now" but some apps can be assigned by "long press" search.
Lastly, if anybody wants my personal setup, here it is.
Rycon33's setup - Download
Patch to add volume-wake to my personal setup above - Download.
battery icon - Sense with 1% increment/decrement on charging/discharging
navigation height - 38x28(portrait by andscape)
navigation buttons - power-back-HOME-recent-menu (for power soft-button, short-press is screen-off, long-press is power menu)
navigation icons - Nexus HD
power menu - added "reboot" option
Again, like in my personal setup, if you are on ANY of the 1%-step battery icon mod, and you feel bored on your current battery icon and would like to change the ICONS ONLY while retaining your other mod, here are the flashable icon images.
Shared Folder for changing_battery_icons_for_1%_step_mod
And to revert to "STOCK" look in case you didn't want any of the mods anymore.

actually, no changes in status_bar.xml, only if I know how to make the VRTheme flasher work, it would have been easier
anyway, here's your modified SystemUI.apk
I have a template of VRTheme.zip, but for the life of me, I cannot make it to work on my phone.
EDIT:Finally, I got the VRTheme flashable zip to work on my phone. Now you can try this flashable zip as well CWM_V_140_no_percentage.

EDIT:And for those who wants battery percent text only(no battery icon at all):
Just remove the stat_sys_battery.xml from your SystemUI.apk. Just use 7zip or WinRar and delete that file in "/res/drawable" folder.

Mate, if you want to remove the battery icon, just open the SystemUI.apk in winrar or 7zip, go to /res/drawable folder, delete stat_sys_battery.xml
You only need apktool if you want to remove the battery percent text and edit status_bar.xml. Here it is if that's what you meant, only battery icon(no percent text).
Which one you meant?

INSTRUCTIONS AND DOWNLOADS
The first thing I recommend you to do is to preform a nandroid backup (it's optional, but highly recommendable).
Secondly, if you want a clean install, get the XXMA3 Stock Firmware from HERE. This is a stock firmware package ready to be flashed through Odin and it's the one I've used as base. I've downloaded it from SamMobile and then created it using SplitFUS2.
Don't know how to use Odin? Click HERE!
Relevant downloads:
Download ClockWorkMod Recovery (if you don't have it already). Don't know where to download it? Just search for Millan.SIS CWM (for example)
Download TransfROMers_V1_2.zip (Please don't make any mirrors...)
Optional downloads:
Download and extract Rings_Notif_Alarms.rar -> OPTIONAL! Not needed for the ROM to work. These are just some custom ringtones, notifications and alarms arranged by me.
Download and extract Original Sounds.rar -> OPTIONAL! Only if you want the original stock sounds (in case you don't enjoy the ones included with the ROM).
Download and extract APK.rar -> OPTIONAL! These are just some cool apps that I use (specially Noozy Player).
Enough downloading, let's get started:
Place the downloaded zip file (and optional extracted folders) on your SD Card's root.
Turn off the phone
Access stock Recovery (Turn on the phone with this Key combo -> Long press Home+Volume up+Power Button)
Choose Wipe DATA
Choose Wipe CACHE
Choose Apply Update from SD card
Choose CWM -> you will boot into CWM Recovery
Wipe DATA and CACHE again via CWM
Go to Advanced
Wipe Dalvik Cache
Wipe Battery Stats (only if your Battery is full, otherwise, don't do it)
Press Back Button
Choose Install zip From SDCARD
Choose zip From SDCARD
Select -> TransfROMers_V1_2.zip
Choose “yes...."
Wait for the Rom's installation to finish
Press Back Button and choose "Reboot"
DONE!
To enable OTA Updates, please click the link to Version 1.3 and follow instructions.

NOTES
Since I didn't include kuro's data2sd script, I recommend you to use Links2SD in order to minimize the phone's storage. Don't know how to use it? Just click HERE.
Deadly's compact kernel has "THE" brightness bug. In order to fix that, just access CPU control and set the Freq. min clock to 312Mhz. For more information about this, click HERE.
Don't forget to enable all windows animations.

I really appreciate all of your replies. Thought no one would give a damn about this, you know, since there are a lot of other cool ROM's out there.
Give me your feedback as well as your suggestions. I'll try to update all that's possible to turn this humble ROM into a better one.
Things I still want to accomplish:
1 - Remove the status bar from the lock screen
2 - Move the all apps/home icon to the dock's center
3 - Your suggestions...
By the way, don't ignore the optional downloads...
Hasta!

Yes init.d is supported (the kernel supports it).
The folder doesn't exist simply because I didn't add any script. But anyone is able to add they're favorite scripts.
You may ask why I didn't add any script...that's simple, because I didn't felt the need to.

Please note: this thread is no longer being developed, nor the files are up to date. Therefore, the following files will not work with the latest 4.4 Kit Kat. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.
Ever since 4.2 was pushed out yesterday for us the Xperia Z owners, well I've made some small changes to them and I want to share with you, wonderful people on XDA. LitoNi's Style! lol enjoy!
Before you begin:
For odex or deodex stock roms, PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU'VE DOWNLOADED THE RIGHT ONE FOR YOUR ROM
Your device must be rooted
A working root explorer or whatever you use to move the system files
A working recovery. Backup your entire system if it matters that much
Backup which ever apk(s) you have decided to overwrite with my file(s)
I will most likely not accept any request in modding anything. The reason behind this is that I cant satisfy all of you, and I'm still busy with school. But Ill see what I can do when Im free!
NOTE:
Did all experiments on my Xperia Z C6603 4.2.2
Instructions:
Download the apks I've provided below
Put it in SD card or internal storage
Go into Root Explorer
Move it into System/
Change the permission to RW--R--R
Move it into System/apps/ (overwrite the current one)
Reboot and Enjoy
Side note: You can more more than 1 apk file at once, saves you time and hassle.
Side note 2: I once had issues moving systemui.apk and home.apk at the same time, therefore move either one in first then reboot and do the second one.

can anyone give me the stock xperia z 4.2.2 launcher ?
Litoni can you make just transparent dock mod? Without modifying the app drawer icon?

dont move into system/app/ then set permission. do it before.
move the apk into system/ first
set permission to rw-r-r
then move the apk into system/app/
try that
no luck LitoNi . but it should run as gnex runs on 4.2.2
how do you use the Simple Text app to change the icon of the dock?
I can create widgets only, cant move the widgets to the dock bar...
thanks

Hello I installed the xperia lockscreen apk on my zl and it works but only if I had my phone in english.
I use it in spanish, and keep saying the slide legend.
"Deslice hacia arriba o hacia abajo para desbloquear"
Is there a way you can fix this? Plisssssss!

I dont quite understand you.
You used the lockscreen apk i provided and it worked? If it worked, then there shouldnt be any words "slide up or down to unlock" or whatever language it is in on the lockscreen.
or are you saying, you used the lockscreen apk and it worked, but it popped up "slide up or down to unlock" in spanish on the lockscreen?
Yes it's what I'm trying to tell. As you can see on the screenshot the arrows are missing, but the message is still there. :S

Hi all, this is a mod i started making for my own device, and decided to share it.
It is based on the files contained in the deodexed ROM I uploaded here, which is in turn based on the FTF uploaded by @Leo here.

Even though I do delete/disable most system apps I don't use, there are some that I don't consider bloatware (although don't necessarily use) and I leave installed, which I have also modded since after changing the system framework they would look wrong/weird, and which are also included here, in case anyone uses them.
This is not a "theme" which you install and manage through the Theme section of settings. This is a modded framework and apps which, once flashed, will replace your current framework and the apps included. It mods the entire framework, which will change the aspect of certain apps that rely on system default themes. Even though I have tried to check and correct every visual flaw, there might be certain apps that might have visual inconsistencies. If you find any, please let me know.
Also, since this is a "blue" colored mod, it will look best with a blue theme, such as Air or Xperia. I personally don't use themes, and leave it on the default "Xperia" theme. The apps packaged in the zip file will not change if you change the default Theme, they are hardcoded to use the color I've used for this mod. If you have and use other apps that change depending on the theme, then you would probably want to use any of the two themes mentioned above.
I would have preferred to make this into an actual installable theme APK file, but haven't found a way to actually compile asset files while using a modded "styles.xml" file, since this mod doesn't just replace PNG files. Anyway...
Apps contained in this mod:
Calculator
Calendar
Messaging
Contacts/Phonebook
Dialer
Settings
SystemUI
Xperia Home Launcher
Clock
Package Installer*
*Fixed the visual bug with the app title dropping over the divider line, so no need for the "Fix Sony Bugs" Xposed module
Custom Features:
Transparent gradient status bar/navigation bar when on Xperia Apps, or windows identified as having being able to use a "transparent background" for status bar and navigation bar
5 button symmetric navigation bar with custom icons. You need Gravity Box, (or similar app) to force the left-most menu button to always be visible, and I use GB to reassign the key commands as so:
Double tap Menu key to turn screen off, and long press it to bring up the Power Menu; reassign the the "Recent apps" button so that it behaves as a "Back" button, and enable the "Menu" button to always be visible, that you way you have the exact same layout on both sides, so you can use it with one hand either from the left or the right. Then I make the "Recent apps" list appear when double tapping/long pressing the "Home" key.

Default button placement is, from left to right: "Recent Apps, Home, Back, Menu".

Installation notes:
Even though this is intended to be used with a modded services.jar, which can be done manually following this guide, I have also attached a "signed" version, which might work with a non-modded ROM. I can't confirm this for a fact because I haven't taken the time to restore the unmodded services.jar, but it worked fine on my modded ROM. Anyone one who wants to try it out can do so at their own risk (as if anything seriously bad could really happen) . Attached is my modded "superuser.jar".
Installation:
.- Make a backup (obviously)
.- Flash modded "services.jar" file, or patch it yourself.
.- Flash AP_NeonFrameworkMod.zip
.- Wipe cache (optional, but recommended)
.- Reboot

*People who want to try the theme and haven't modded or flashed the "services.jar" file, you can use this file, which has signed apps. Once again, I do not take responsibility if apps force close and you don't know how to restore your default framework/apps.
The status bar and navigation bar icons seen in my screenshots have been modded used Gravity Box (xposed module); The wallpapers are also attached which match the default background used as the default background: a scrollable wallpaper for people who like a scrolling wallpaper, and another one for those who don't.
Disclaimer: I am not responsible for your phone not booting up due to changes you have made to the default state of your ROM

HINT: In the event that you would want go back to your default ROM state without having to restore an entire backup, you can simply extract the apps listed above from your ROM before flashing, or extract them from the zip/FTF you used to flash your ROM, use them to replace the ones in the zip file using 7zip, and then flash that file.

All you'd need to do is use 7zip to open the same file you flashed, and replace the apk files contained in system/app with the ones from your original ROM, as well as replace the "framework-res.apk" from the system/framework folder.
