Every time I flashed a new rom or kernel my phone always hangs when I'm in the aroma. I'm using twrp by the way. Is this recovery problem?
Sent from my HTC One
It's an aroma binary issue.
Isn't a recovery issue.
Amarullz is at work on new binaries...
I've seen this mentioned a couple times now... Try reboot recovery and run the installer again, but from the point that Aroma loads don't touch the screen, use only the volume and power buttons to navigate the installer. Apparently this is a temporary workaround for the issue with Aroma freezing (saw this mentioned in a ROM thread FAQ, can't remember which one though).

I installed CM10.1 from this thread and everything went smooth and works great. However, no matter what I do I can't boot into recovery mode. I've tried the hardware key combinations, the power menu in 10.1/4.2.2 and I've also tried ROM Manager from CWM (to install the latest CWM and boot to it). Everything just boots like normal.
From what I've read I'm guessing I have a recovery that isn't compatible with my ROM? If that's the case, what recovery should I use and how can I install it using nvflash???
Finally got ADB working and was able to install gapps using the method found here (with minor adjustments): http://www.keyables.com/2012/05/use-adb-to-install-google-apps-includes.html
Very cool.
It would probably still be nice to be able to get into recovery if I ever need to... oh well.
Power Off
Press Volume+ and Power and HOLD THEM
Select option 2.
Please put questions in the General section as this is for development only.
I am havIng the same issue with recovery but when I press and hold volume+ and power I get the samsung custom screen and I see recovery in very small blue font in the upper left, I am still holding both keys and then the phone just boots up normal. Any ideas?

Hello
You know, I appreciate the work of the developers.
However I have been trying to install a number of ROMS but AROMA just freezes either at the start, middle, end... it seems almost random.
Other times the screen flickers and returns to CWM 6.032.
I hold down the Power and Vol Down keys for 60seconds plus and nothing happens. Then a few minutes I try again and again and manage to exit the frozen mess AROMA has left me and start in bootloader only to try again!!
What is the problem here?? Really this is crap!
Is there something else I need to do to get a ROM flashed?? So far tonight its been a pain in the arse just to flash any one ROM.

Wait a little bit before beginning your install once aroma loads, also use the volume keys to navigate and your power button to select options and move forward. This also needs to be in the Q&A section
First of all,
Questions go in Q&A
Yes Aroma is a buggy mess.
However you can minimize lockups ny using volume buttons to step through menus and the power button to make selections.
AROMA cont.
Hi
Yes have done all that... use buttons, wait, press gently, breathe in...
What has just worked (or was it a fluke??) was to go to Fastboot erase cache - that fixed the issue so far.
Pain over - for now anyway.
Cheers

AROMA is known to be buggy. I personally do not use roms that use it.
Made you look!
Yeah I know that the battery is non-removable, but I'm stuck.
I had Renovate nightly installed on my One and on rebooting it went to the HTC logo, then the screen went blank and after a couple of minutes looped.
However pressing the usual power and volume buttons had no effect other than to cause the capacitive buttons to flash.
When I plugged the phone into the pc and tried something ... I can't remember exactly what (not that there's many options) I finally got into the bootloader and then from there into TWRP.
Maybe this is where I went really wrong ...?
Instead of wiping and flashing I decided to just reflash the ROM. everything was good until after the aroma installed where I have the choice of "save logs" or "next" buttons to press, and it froze ... but again any combination of power and volume does nothing just the capacitive buttons flashing at me forever.
On any other phone I've had I'd pull the battery and try all over again ... please help!
...someone ...
Hold the power button for 7 seconds. When the buttons flash, do not let go. It will then force itself off.
If you're in recovery, you can try to use adb command like this:
Code:
adb reboot
or
Code:
adb reboot recovery
.
However, if you've a bootloop, try and try to reboot with the longpress of power button.
And if your rom will not boot, try to flash the kernel in fastboot
Unfortunately holding the power doesn't force reboot, the buttons just keep flashing ... I'll see how long I can hold it for ... again.
And I can't get back to recovery either. it's still in the aroma (kinda waiting for the battery to empty now) obviously adb won't work while in the aroma.
I really don't like these aroma installers, just give me .zip ... they work perfectly for me.

Aroma is cool.
Only with our Phone and, thereotecally, with the S4 will have freeze.
This, because, binary aren't updated for FullHD screen.
However, sooner or later, it will reboot, just try and try
Yeah .. sore fingers, that was about 2 minutes of holding the power button ... entered recovery, flashed a kernel, but still no boot time for a full wipe and reflash I think or try a restoring a backup.

Umh, strange... :/
Maybe try TrickDroid or OrDroid
InsertCoin is good too!
Little trick that I have discovered after having same scary experience where aroma would stuck and no power button or adb would help rebooting.
Press and hold power button for 5+ seconds and then while still holding it press one of the capacitive buttons, either home or back. Voila!

Hello, first of all I ask sorry for my English is very bad,
Now, I have a problem I have damaged the POWER and HOME buttons, and I'm on JVU stock
* cm10.2 would like to install from a recovery but without the home button I can not install it, the solution would someone pass me some RECOVERY TOUCH, maybe some serious TWRP or something, to install the rom from whether thank you very much
Search on Google Playstore for a widget that can reboot into recovery then flash cf-root to get CWM and root. http://bit.ly/RgA6YS
EDIT: CMW uses the power button to navigate so if you have a damaged power button not sure if you'll be able to use it anyway, only other option is to flash a touch screen version of CWM.
EDIT: PhilZ Touch recovery, but i think it's bundled with a CM11 kernel? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588649
EDIT: If you can find a widget that'll reboot you into recovery mode you could flash ''Mackay CM9'' http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2660668 it has TWRP 2.2.2.0 recovery and it's the rom I'm using. highly recommended.
thanks

Thanks Man! but i need to navigate and select Wipe data and install zip from sd card but i dont have home button! anyway thanks:laugh:
The only thing I can suggest is to flash a rom (if you can boot into download mode) which has touch recovery, Mackay CM9 has TWRP. sorry can't help much.
EDIT: actually there's an app called "button remapper" (needs root) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=850464 maybe you could try remapping the faulty buttons.

In CWM you don't need home button at all. Navigating with volume buttons / confirm with power button.
I would suggest you to install Mackay ICS 2014 CM9 based. It features TWRP, it is much faster than CM10.2 and has also better battery life.
Around pages 3-5 mohammad.affaneh has posted flashable zip SystemUI (just link to it) which gives you functions power button by touching uppest right screen corner (minutes of the time). Zip doesn't work in other ROMs

You can use USB jig to turn into download mode if necessary and ADB to reboot into recovery.
Once you are rooted, app QuickBoot can do all basic boot commands with just touching a screen.

Hi,
Although i dont posses much knowledge about technical aspects of flashing and stuff, but somehow i successfully installed a custom rom using the guide on the following link
http://www.ibtimes.co.in/install-an...m-to-samsung-galaxy-ace-s5830-tutorial-551133
when i tried to install zip file of google apps the operation was aborted.
Then i tried to update the CWM from 5 to 6.0.4.6 using a zip file i downloaded (https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23269279319200003)
This update failed and gave a blue screen of death. Now every time i go into recovery mode by pressing the power and home buttons it shows the blue screen of death, then i have to press the home button a couple of times to reboot the device.
Kindly let me know how to fix this blue screen issue.
thanks
