Thanks! I'm guessing they're compatible since
BB:
Output 5V=700mA
Input: 100-240V ~ 200mA 50-60Hz
Ace:
Output: 5.0V=0.7A
Input: 100-240V ~ 50-60Hz 0.15A
Am I right?

If you charge your Ace with a BB charger it will not produce the same voltage as needed.

What ?! Who said this ? I've been using a charger with a lower rating for over 6 months now. Not even a single flaw until now. It just takes a bit longer to charge that's all. Don't believe Samsung when they say use original chargers only & similar bull ****. Those brutes do that to market their products. That's all.

I see. It's because I gave my ace to my girlfriend and the charger was broken but she has a blackberry one. Everything is fine then I guess.
Thanks a lot guys!

[Q] Charge status question..

Hi.
Sorry for this noobish question but I really don't have any idea if this thing is charging or not -- I have attach an image when device is powered off.. though it looks like it is charging but every time I turn the device on it says that it is not charging on status settings menu, and got that "Connect your charger" on the lock screen.
Sounds as if insufficient current.
Are you using original wall charger?

No. My sister give this to me but she forget to send the wall charger, so what I'm using is my current HTC adapter. So this is how tab works? lol. Darn. I thought chargers are all the same.
My charger (original) is rated at 2.0A
I think it does need rather high current.

you can charge it with lower current as long as you turn off your tab (just like what you are doing in the picture), but it will take at least half a day to charge it.
You can probably charge it slightly faster by connecting it to the computer with Fast Charge enabled. FWIW my Tab charges just fine with a 650ma, a 1A, and the 2A stock charger.

I dont think I can get a official again. Cuz we dont have a repsenter here.
I also dont know where will i buy an usb cable..

check you adapter
output of original x8 charger is (5.5V | 850mA)
if output of xperia ray charger is same like x8 then it cant hurt your phone :good:

To be more specific if the charger output is equal OR more than 850mA, it will be good. If less, then the charger gets hot because the phone wants to get more "A" than the charger designed for. Note that it must be 5.5V.

Input = 150-300VAC ~50-60Hz 0.15A
Output = 5.0V = 1.0A
I think charger with output 1.0A or more will charge faster
But its always recommended to use the original charger
thanks bro.

Any USB Charger will do. I use a 2.0A one and nope, its not faster. It takes the 1.0A and thats it.

Cygnett 2M MicroUSB Cable

I purchased one of these cables at Fry's (Frys # 7673737) and when I use it with the usb plug block which came with the Note II it charges faster than the original Samsung cable. I also get higher numbers on the Galaxy Charging Current *Lite* app. It was originally $14.99, but on sale now for $4.95.
Hey there rvb1. How much higher were your numbers when using the galaxy current charging app? I am curious because I was in the market for a new cable and live within distance of Fry's. Wish I had known sooner, I already pulled the trigger, purchased, and now waiting for d.i.y. usb and micro usb connectors to fashion my own heavy gauge, high current cables. A few of them I will make for charging only (data ports bridged within plug) because I have another charger or two (non-samsung) that will not charge at high rate unless the data ports are bridged. Until now, I have been using a usb adapter that I made to do so. Anyway, good find and at a good price.....
With Cygnet I get maximum 1800. With the original Samsung cord I get 1300.

Anyone that understands the whole wiring and power in cables; why is that if the charger is 2.1 amps, why does it not fully hit that or am I mis understanding the concept. I know different USB cables will vary.

It may have something to do with the overall supply of power to the outlets. As in the wiring through the house. I think that's the only other legitimate option as to why we can't get the whole 2.1. Or maybe even the hp concept for cars. Maybe have 300 hp rating but after output and everything you're at 275. Just my 2 cents

Reason for the whole horsepower deal in cars it's simply the fact that at the crank or the flywheel it will make all that power it just loses the power going through the hole the whole engine to the actual wheels I can go further in detail into that but its not necessary

1000ma 5.0 v for my sgs i9000

HI guys . i want to ask u if my chrger 5.0v 1000ma Input: 100-240V 50/60Hz 5W <100mA ( not original charger its for HTC ) gonna make troubles for my SGS i9000. because the stock charger is about 5.0v 700ma . What u think ??
THank U XDA developers

Dont worry, its not a problem. Voltage is most important and should be (about) equal. Higher amperage means it will charge more quickly (pbb up to some limit, but definitely OK in this case). In my experience all USB/phone charging equipment can be used for i.e. phones.
Thank u l0kiii . you re the best
