So I got two D3's for my parents and they don't care for any of the social apps at all nor Blockbuster or anything else. How do I get rid of these?
Damn this phone has a lot of bloatware, even for a Verizon phone.
Well, you have a few options, but only one actually get's the bloatware out of your hair.
You can root the phone and freeze all of the apps they don't want to show up (see the list of safe-to-freeze apps in the Development section of this forum). That approach provides the benefit of keeping those unwanted apps from running in the background, using up resources. Under the circumstances, though, it might not be a good idea to root your parent's phone if they aren't tech savvy, 'cause they might break it (and, of course, there's that whole voided warranty thing).
You can use the App Groups feature in the stock D3 app drawer. Just create an App Group (call it "Favorites" or something) and add only the apps that your parent wants to see. This is a simple method of getting all the bloatware out of your face. The downside, though, is that, every time you install a new app, you will have to remember to add it to your "Favorites" App Group or you won't see it in the App Drawer by default (you'd have to switch over to "All Apps" or "Downloaded Apps"). Also, this doesn't do anything to keep the bloatware from doing stuff in the background. Option #1 is the only way to do that.
Use a third party Home Launcher. I don't know which ones do and don't have this feature, but Launcher Pro has the ability of adding apps to a "Hide" list for the App Drawer. This way, you can pick all of the bloatware that you don't want to see in the App Drawer. Compared to Option #2, this approach is better because, once you've built your "Hide" list, you don't have to do anything else. There is no need to add newly-installed apps to a group so that they can be seen or anything. The downside (or upside, depending on your perspective) is that you will have completely changed the look/feel of the Home Launcher from the Moto Stock Launcher. Personally, I prefer the look and functionality of Launcher Pro, but some may like the Launcher that Moto put on this phone from the factory.

I rooted it and ran the remove bloatware script. Seemed to do the trick. Much faster. Now my old lady wants me to de-bloat hers. I manually rooted the d3 (the day it was posted), but they have the one click root now.
I hate Blur, like im sure a lot of people do, is it possible to get the stock AOSP apks to work as default?
It's possible.
How I would do it, rather than freezing or removing the standard text & messaging applications, is also install a launcher, something like ADW launcher.
Then you can remove all links to the standard services and put shortcuts in the places for the standard apk's.
You 'shouldn't' damage your system by installing the standard APK's, but I would do a back up of your system first, by installing safestrap.
So I'm rooted with a full nandroid and I'm ready to remove all the bloatware..
Are there any apps that shouldn't be removed? If I remember correctly, the og Evo had some problems if you removed the stocks, or news app, I forget which one.
I just switched from a Note 2 and on that thing you can pretty much delete whatever you want without affecting Touchwiz. Hoping I can do the same with the One.

I've got a couple of questions regarding the Note9, which I'll be getting this week:
1. What is the best way to migrate everything from my Note4 to the Note9? I've read that there a few ways, what's the best? what do I do with content that isn't backed up like game's progress?
Does Smart Switch, for example, copy everything? Do I need to migrate everything to do with my Google account separately?
2. When using Nova on my Note4 there were a few things that were disabled when changing Samsung's launcher, like attaching Notes to the screen or using the calendar widget.
Does anyone know what we lose, if anything, by changing the launcher on the Note9?

I'm having the same problem with the calendar widget; is there a workaround to get the Samsung calendar widget working on GoLauncher?
To answer your first question (although you may not need the answer anymore but maybe other people do): I copied all my files from a Xiaomi to Samsung Note using Samsung's Smart Switch app, available on Google Play. Works well, except that favorites and settings within the apps are not copied to the new phone.
Helium Backup is a good solution for non rooted devices to transfer your apps including all data to a other device. Not all apps but around 95% of your apps you can copy....
If your devices are rooted, you can also use Titanium Backup - thats the best solution but works only with rooted devices.
I always use Titanium, since being rooted.
Not 100% on this but I've read it's better to do a clean install than full transfer, what I mean by this is just backing up through your Google account and redownload all apps and settings. Manually transfer documents, pictures, music etc.
If I were you I'd removed Nova launcher before using smartswitch to transfer. Better still do a fresh install as others have suggested.

Samsung Smart Switch copies all documents, pics, contacts, phone data, etc. Just not all settings for apps.

Yeah, if you are running the stock Samsung Launcher then Smartswitch is the way to do this. As it litterally moves everything from your old android device to your new phone. It does a much better job if you are migrating from a Samsung device too. I use it when I upgraded from my N910C to my N950N.
correct, Helium Backup transfer also settings and datas from many apps including the application itself (not all apps), thats the reason why I prefere Helium Backup

I know it does but I once had pictures and somehow they became corrupted through Smart Switch, they still transferred alright to the new phone but I deleted them from the old phone and when tried to access them through the new phone they were all corrupted and I lost them, that's why I rather manually save them.

So i just successfully rooted my device with SuperSu and I'm looking to delete some bloatware, I've read good things about Titanium so i thought i'd give it a go. I'm mainly just removing all the stuff i don't use on this Tab to speed it up as all im doing with it is playing Mobile Legends and browsing, I've noticed that after removing app's their icon is still viewable in the draw but when i click on it nothing happens.. Does this mean that the app has been successfully removed and i just need to hide the icon?
I was also wondering would i be able to delete TouchWiz if im using another launcher (NOVA Launcher) or will it bug out?

I generally freeze things in Titanium initially. Then, if no problems crop up after a reasonable time, I'll go back in an uninstall. If problems *do* crop up, I can thaw the app with (hopefully) no harm done.
That said, I've left TouchWiz alone since it is tied fairly tightly to the whole OS (and yes, I do use Nova).
