[Q] HTC One China and the ROMs - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I live in China and have bought an HTC One China Version without LTE but with double standby sim and MicroSD card.
As Google and China are not the best friends, there is no mention about Google in my ROM which is fun as Android is Google... but there are a lot of stuffs that are useless for me because I am not Chinese.
My question is, is there a way to install an International ROM (original ROM is just fine for me) or even a cooked one so I can get back all the Google stuffs that are essential to any Android smartphone ?
Thanks for your expertise and advice.

Don't think it's possible without porting as the hardware is different. Also, you will lose dual SIM functionality even after porting any M7 ROM.
Instead, try to search to manually flash/add gapps and services

Thank you !
I was hoping that the International ROM does contain the lines of codes for the Dual Standby Sim for instance but were just not "used".
So basically all I can do, is to root the phone and flash the Google Apps inside, is that correct ?

Hi again,
I could manage to flash the recovery.
When in the Fastboot, I try to enter recovery.
The phone will restart showing "entering recovery"
but instead of entering in the recovery menu, the phone will enter a loop.
I can break the loop by entering fastboot (power+volume down), then normal reboot will bring me to the regular welcome screen.
I have tried TWRP and both CWM touch and non touch. Flashing goes fine everytime but I cannot get in the recovery menu.
Would anyone has an idea ?

On the "entering recovery..." screen
at the bottom, it is written "this build is for development purposes only etc."
does anyone has an idea of what is going on ?

The problem is that the root img is not the same for Chinese and international version. The img can be found via Google root+htc+802w
Everything is fine now
Thanks

Go into HTC Marketplace app and search for HTC GMS. Install that app. Be sure your external SD Card is removed during the whole installation process. It will come up with a command prompt dialog. Press ok when your sd card is NOT in the phone.

Not jet. Just read it Shall try this on weekend. But FYI, I do not have "One Sim" version. And looking forward SPSPaWn thread to see does anybody already try it...
At the moment all about he write is for Dual Sim model, but on the Koush site, Desire 500 is not supported ...jet. So. maybe is better to wait little bit more
I would suggest you to unlock your bootloader first, but you will lose your warranty.
Maybe it wont work without unlocking the bootloader.I tried without unlocking the bootloader and it didnt work.
Maybe someone could port cwm for our device.

Yes. I confirm that metod working. I managed to unlock the bootloader (htcdev.com), then to install CWMRecovery and to root the Desire 500 (one sim). It would be the time for opening a topic dedicated to HTC Desire 500...maybe someone is reading this.

What about custom roms?
Edit : Root works ! Amazing, thanks.
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh, i rooted to change the density of the display..Now everything is messed up.
This is the risk of rooting the phone! You have to know surely what you're gonna do, else you'll have a messed up phone. After rooting, I strongly advise to do a backup under CWM recovery, this way you keep your chance to revert everything back to the initial status.
I made a backup .
Waiting for some developers and a nice custom rom.

Still now same problem my network goes out.
As now in this rom bluetooth and wifi not working , however i can get this over by installing "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2743490.
but as i am not that much familiar will you xda guys just give short note how to do this.
In bootloader mode (after pressing volume down and power) there is a menu sim lock, is it ok ?
It could be a result of flashing a dirty rom meaning that you didn't do a factory reset before and/or after flashing the ROM. The sim lock could be a result of flashing the ROM, because I think it's able to "re-lock" the sim.

Do not fret from the restrictive access popping up in the status bar as that's only an HTC component monitoring what's happening in your phone. As for the simlock that will be there always, you might not have noticed this before because it's only shown in fastboot but not the boot loader itself. It is impossible for the Sim to relock itself with a ROM flash as that has to due with the deeper bottom layer security on the phone. Your Sim is not locked but I do suspect that you might have messed up the phone's radios from a dirty flash. What I suggest now using is the sense 5 ROM if you personally like sense (which I don't because stock is days faster) and note that if you use the sense 5 ROM only the specific kernel the depelover made for it will work. Other kernels will result in Bluetooth and WiFi being broken. The steps are these:
In cwm Wipe data, cache, dalvik cache, system, then do a factory reset. Proceed then to flash your ROM of liking. Then flash the kernel (specifically for sense 5):http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2744735
Proceed to then enter boot loader mode (note that if you're s-off you're done and can now boot normally and do not need to complete this step, though if you don't know what that is chances are you're not s-off) and select fastboot. Now extract the boot.IMG from the kernel and flash it using the command "fastboot flash boot boot.IMG"

Handsfree Activation Bootloop FIX

Hi Guys. First off I'm posting this for information in hopes to help anyone else having this problem. I'll go over the problem I was having. What caused the problem for me and the steps I took to resolve it.
Problem:
A Handsfree activation bootloop. More specifically, no matter which rom, RUU, OTA, recovery or firmware I flashed, my phone would go threw a HFA and PRL update, say that it was successful and reboot on it's own and start the process over again. If at some point by chance I could catch it and disable the vDM.apk would be the only way I could stop it and boot normally. I tried resetting my profile, factory resets, Sprint support (which was completely useless) and everything else mentioned above. I even threw the kitchen sink in for good measure. lol. I was able to make phone calls, receive text and mms. I even had LTE and 3G service. But my wifi calling and sprint zone didn't work. So I knew something wasn't activating properly.
Cause:
Well for me it started when I accidentally flashed a M7 rom. Yeah don't laugh, it happens. Anyway, in recovery it said it failed but not before it formatted "/dev/block/mmcblk0p37" which is the system partition on the M7. But on the M8, it's the /carrier partition. So it erased all my info and filled it with a bunch of s**t. To the point that the partition was full and activation couldn't write to it. It also injected a bunch of s**t in "/dev/block/mmcblk0p39" which is the /devlog partition on the M8. So just a big mess. This is just how I got to this point. I'm not saying this your cause but the fix might help you.
Fix:
1 Get your self to a point that you are booted up to a rom. If you can't, try flashing an international rom made for sprint like "insert coin" for example. Those don't HFA bootloop from my experience.
2 Download MSL reader from the market. And get your MSL you'll need it later.
3 With a good root explorer, go to /carrier folder, do a backup of it (just in case) open the folder and delete everything in the folder.
4 Go to /devlog folder, open it and delete everything in there. (You don't need this stuff, it will rewrite itself).
5 Download the zip at the bottom of the post, extract it and copy the contents to your /carrier folder. Don't worry about the /devlog folder. leave it empty.
6 Now your going to flash a RUU. Download the one you want. I used https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95784891001604379 (Don't worry it won't get you S-on or lock your bootloader). It will probably do a HFA again and it should fail. If not, try disabling it. Because we need to get to the dialer.
7 In your dial pad enter ##786# and go to edit mode. Enter your MSL if it asks you. Go to the menu button at the upper right and hit reset. Go threw the promps, the phone should reboot and restore. Let it boot up. It will go threw HFA again. But now you'll notice it activated properly. At this point your all done. Flash a custom recovery again. Profit.
Special Thanks to @Captain_Throwback You rock.
Let me know if this helps. Please post any questions and I'll try guiding you threw.

What ROM?
If it is stock based you can try this, either go through TWRP and select file manager or do this in the zip before flashing.
Go to system/app/HtcOMADM_SPCS and rename the apk by adding .bak after .apk.
After the phone boots and you pass setup you can always rename the file by removing the .bak
You might get better results by posting this question in that ROM thread, or make a thread in the Q&A and put the ROM name in the title of the thread.

and so sorry for this. i hope you can understand why i am asking for this. !
A Possible Approach To Fix The Problem
Here's what we can do since HTC Support seems to be unwilling to assist users who face these problems due to failed OTA updates.
1. We get someone with a working HTC Desire 626G+ to make a backup of their current System Image using ROM Manager.
2. Get them to upload it and share the link to a free download service like Dropbox or MediaFire.
Because it's now appearing that the worst phone to own right now would be a HTC since they have absolutely ZERO support for OTA update failures on their website.
This is what I'm trying to do. If I'm successful I'll share a download link. :fingers-crossed:

Here's what we can do since HTC Support seems to be unwilling to assist users who face these problems due to failed OTA updates.
1. We get someone with a working HTC Desire 626G+ to make a backup of their current System Image using ROM Manager.
2. Get them to upload it and share the link to a free download service like Dropbox or MediaFire.

626G+ Original ROM
Dear Friends, I've an HTC 626G+ dual sim with the original European stock ROM, the only one problem is that the touch screen display is broken (LCD is working well).
Please try to explain me how to made an image of the rom, and this night I will share with you on dropbox or Onedrive cloud.
I've on another new 626G+ phone, the same problem after OTA update, continuous reboot on Recovery and can't findany way to restore it.
Will any one help me out!!!
Hello Guys, I am using HTC Desire 626G+,rooted (kingroot) the system and attempted to update the rom, forgetting OTA conflicts. Now I am stucked at NO COMMAND error and then i found a solution from
http://forum.xda-developers.com/…/fix-htc-desire-626g-updat…
While using SP Flash Tools my mobile is not dected due to I turned off usb debugging..
So is there is any way to enable usb debugging??
Hi,
i had the same problem:
Flash the device with the orginal ROM from: The scatter file is included.
http://www.easy-firmware.com/index.php?a=browse&b=category&id=682
Take care to install the right USB driver. MT65xx Preloader. You have to disable Windows driver signature check if you have Win 8 or 10.
Search in google to do this. Afterwars, Sp-Tools will detect your drive if you install the usb drivers manually. If you don't find the driver, tell me i can give you a working copy.
For the next time, search for a twrp recovery.img. Flash it after you have restored your orginal system. Then, download supersu and install it using twrp instead of kingroot. Tell me if you need a copy.
Kind regards,
Sascha

HI Sascha...I need password for this Rar/Zip Data!? U know this???

Moto X mobile data not working.. i messed up

Hi. I am in the UK and have the first gen moto x. i was dicking around with roms etc and i ended up accidentally erasing internal storage. I managed to the get the phone back to how it was apart from the fact that it cannot make calls, text, get 3g signal. it is essentially a small tablet. when i use the dialler code to show the imei number it is 0. i tried reinstalling modems etc and none have worked. i have tried differnet roms and even flashing lollipop. I am wondering if the modems files i am using are not working because they are US files and I need some kind of EU file? Idk.
I had my imei written down so i was going to try and change it to that on the phone but engineer tools does not open or even seem to exist on the phone. i cant try using the stock rom etc because it is on a site (something like sbf developers ) that says it is forbidden. i literally have tried everything. can anyone help? :crying:

Hey! If you've installed a US ROM, you are using the wrong baseband files to access your service provider network ( XT1053- US ; XT1052- UK)
Try installing an XT1052 based rom and report back . Also, be careful while flashing your new chosen ROM. Ensure that it does not downgrade / modify your current bootloader as you may end up bricking your phone (since you've upgraded to LP)
Best of luck mate .

Strange . Do elaborate as to what rom you are flashing and which rom you are currently using (The one that has a problem).
Also, are you wiping the system before flashing ?

Hi again. i googled xt1052 rom and found a few. the one i tried was cyanhacker(obviously based on cm). after i got that error i tried editing the updater script to skip over the process in which it checks what device it is on. after that it appeared to flash successfully but when i tried to boot it showed the bootloader unlocked screen, vibrated then restarted and just kept doing that bootloop.

1. Please download the correct ROM for your device from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/general/official-collection-firmwares-fxz-sbf-t3146628
2. Head over here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/general/guide-moto-x-return-to-100-stock-using-t2446515 and follow the Instructions. CAUTION: If you decide yourself for manual flashing DO NOT PASTE THIS CODE:
Code:
fastboot oem config carrier vzw
Or you'll end up, like me: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/moto-x-qa/carrier-retail-devices-t3174988
In case I could help you with some guidance, I would be happy, if you could help me, in my thread.
//EDIT: Your battery should be on 70% or more, before you try to do anything! Keep this in mind, else flashing could be interrupted!
Kind regards
