No, its the app, not the phone. It's a piece of garbage. You'd think one of the biggest companies in the world would have a halfway decent app.

FB app is a well known PoC. And its permissions violate privacy to no limits (like pulling the list of running apps). Stick with the web version or friendcaster

Stock rom or custom? If custom, which rom? Reason i ask is i remember it being a little sluggish too, but on 4.2.2 it seems much better.
It will lag until Facebook decides to get their **** together and make a proper app. I can't understand how they went from making the app HTML5 and then into NATIVE Android code and STILL lags this much??

If you're suggesting that they use the same programmers for every single app they have then that would be true, but the FB iOS app suffers no such lag and after releasing the app for so long on Android, you'd figure they would have improved their coding or hired a small group to program in Java/Android especially now that FB is pushing for mobile revenue...

There is a fix, indeed
If you're on anything beneath 4.2.2 - settings -> development -> advanced -> tick the box for "force GPU rendering" -> done
4.2.2 hides the development settings by default, so to show them, -> settings -> about -> software information -> more -> click on the "build number" 5-15 times, rapidly to uncover the 'development' section of the settings menu
Let me know if it works!

For many reasons, Google+ seems to be a better option.
App is 100 times better designed / programmed
No ads / spam
almost no people that are annoying..

You guys seen their new website? Much, much better! I actually like how it looks now. Check it out.
For those who don't know, not that there's many who don't, it's a site where you can get ringtones/wallpapers/etc. for your phone 100% free, no catch, no bs.

Can you tell me what is the point of visiting their website? If I want to download a wallpaper or ringtone, I'll just use their app, why care about what their website looks like?
Because there might be people that rather have a bookmarked site over an app
What do you mean? I still don't see the point of bookmarking or visiting their site.

is easier if you install their App from Market
then you can pick sounds / wallpapers directly from it, and sets it into the system settings
Yeah for sure the app is a really handy one. Use it all the time when i get bored, and there are no new roms to try out.

Completely agree, thanks for the post. I would much rather use my laptop to find what I want to download before I spend 2 hours searching the mobile app for it. Not all of us have blazing fast 4g!
I had a look at their website, you guys are right. It is much easier to browse through the website, however one thing I find strange, how come on their website they don't separate ringtone from notification sound?

I'd imagine because on most phones it doesnt matter. I remember back when I had my Moto E816 I could only use certain file types for a ringtone/notification/alarm/etc., now you can use pretty much whatever you want.

They should add a remote install feature to the website, obviously requiring you to have the Zedge app installed on your phone. That would make it really worthwhile using the site over the app.
I do agree that the site is better for browsing, but the app sets things for you. We want the best of both worlds.

You mean something like the Market where you pick something you want to d/l and instead of downloading on your pc it automatically d/l's to your phone? That would be sweet!

Yes mate - exactly that and yes, it would be awesome. Google would be doing a great thing if they included something like authenticated remote installation in the Android framework. That would get used so much!

Hopefully this is fixed with the new 2.7 update of the app.
Thanks for many kind words regarding the webpage! We are however not finished with the revamp
For those who are using this app how was your experience?
Considering you are using internet yes it consumes more battery, about RAM well yes IMO. I suggest using Fast Facebook. So lightweight and data loads fast.
I use Facebook app with my background data off.
I experience little battery drain.
It is much more better than the previous versions for sure.
cause i have seen on running process that there is "Facebook" or "upload manager" and eats up around 30mb from ram even though Im not online and I exitted it. So is that process or service really drains battery and ram?
Its both. Try my suggested app. If your into simpler UI with fast loading performance with same FB app feature then FF must try

I have LG Optimus 4X HD since 2012. It was good until I upgraded to JB 4.1.2 (official). Severe battery drain, game lags, heating etc forced me to install custom ROMs. First tried CM, better than stock but not as good as I wanted; then tried MIUI V5, much better than both stock & CM. Never tried custom kernels though. I even tried other Chinese ROMs (based on stock) to see if better. Battery, UI etc were more than satisfactory with MIUI but lags in games and sometimes hanging while opening apps were still frustrating. Then one day I saw "Performance Booster" somewhere & gave a try with free version first. It drastically changed the performance then I installed donate version which improved overall experience. As mentioned in the app it didn't improve benchmarks but improved phones performance for sure. In other words, it saved my money from buying a new phone. Now I don't need new one as I have 'Huawei Mediapad X1' for reading, games & watching videos, which I bought here in China for less than 300$ (it's 400 Euros outside China).
So what is it? I don't try to be rude, but at least you can share where we can find it or something. I know Google it's a good friend but I don't know what exactly. BTW thanks for share your experience

I think it's not allowed to post links to apps here in this forum so didn't post. You can search in play store, it's there, give a try & see yourself.

I don't think that it's forbidden to post links, as long as you don't earn money by doing so (for example adfly links). But I'm not absolutely sure.

Got curious and decompiled the apk. Most of the stuff is license checking. Otherwise it sets a few process management properties and that's all.

What the title says. Write your findings and differences.
OP will be updated thanks to your contributions and suggestions. Special thanks to all contributors.
This will help in an easy way to locate what has changed for our beloved Note's.
1)-I find fingerprint sensor much more accurate.
2)-I personally find that phone gets a little warm while charging (N910C)
3)-Phone app seems faster but had 2 hangs to closing the line. Red button was not responding.
I had a clean install.
4)-You can now change colours in folders in the app drawer and homescreen.
5)-Now third party apps optimized for LP can write to ExtSDcard.
6)-a. Settings-security-trusted agents : enable smart lock
b. Smart lock now appears under settings-security.
7)-MISSING: RAW implementation is NON existent in N4. Samsung dropped the ball. Oops.
8*)-"Recent" apps remain after a reboot.
9-) Added battery drain. Internet hogging apps keep continually connecting.

Do this once a week. I do it on every saturday or when I feel my phone is laggy.
Off-topic advice:
Do not buy a phone like the Xperia Z3 Compact running on an outdated Snapdragon 801 which is not 64Bit. If possible, get a better phone running Snapdragon 805 or 808 or 810 or Samsung phones like the S6/S6 Edge.
