Unable to charge device ( please use supported charger) - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone,
I got the problem Unable to Charge the Device. I rooted my phone before and everything working fine after update the version 1.29.1540.16. I tried to factory reset the phone using RUU 1.29.1540.16 and still get same problem. Do anyone know how to fix the problem?

I'm having the same problem, except my phone often thinks it's in car mode too.

same here just happened today, had it plug into my PC transferring music, came up "use supported charger" oslt, it now won't charge through both charger or when plugged in via usb to PC. The PC says drivers not installed. When I reboot it will charge for say 1 min then go straight into Car mode...running ARHD 10.1

I am also running ARHD. Sometimes cyanogenmod used to put car mode on by itself too, I'm going to flash CM and see what happens now.
Edit: Running cyanogenmod lets it charge perfectly, I don't even see random Car Mode notifications.

Hi everyone,
I was having same problem it just started like two days ago, car software opening, bluetooh turns on and off, charger doesn't charge my device, can't plug in to pc, then i figured out maybe it was all because of Htc Car Software, then a uninstalled it, after that my problems have resolved, maybe you can try this solution if you don't use car software(i couldn't use it anyway because of country restrictions of google and i don't have a car)I hope this can help you

Tab not recognized when plugged in

Posting for a friend.....
He just got the samsung tab. As soon as he got it home, he updated to the newest software to 3.2
Started the root process but quickly found out when he plugs his tab in via USB, it does not come up with an option for USB storage. His computer reads it as an audio file. He says he does have debugging checked.
Any ideas? If I can get more info from him, I will update.
This happened to me after I used a car charger that would at best only trickle charge... Does it react normally when plugged in to a wall outlet charge? Mine would still show as "discharging."
I never found a solution and mine was replaced by the Retailer.
not really sure if drivers are on this problem. try updating them though.
Hate to ask... Has he rebooted? I would try disconnecting the cable, toggling off usb-debugging and rebooting. Toggle it back on , then connect the cable....

Phone won't connect via USB

A couple of days ago I installed this ROM on my P880. Everything worked just fine except for the torch app, a known bug and whatsapp has some difficulties with changing from landscape to portrait mode or vice versa (I hardly use landscape mode so not much of a problem). However, when I connected my P880 to my computer today using the USB cable, neither my phone nor my pc gave any response or errors - nothing happens. My phone claims to be "discharging" when connected to a computer, but is does charge. The same thing happens when I plug my P880 charger into the wall outlet - nothing, but is does charge. My device is rooted and the bootloader is unlocked
Things I have tried so far:
Use 3 different cables
Use different PC's
Reboot phone and and switching it off/on
Disable USB debugging
Any ideas on how to fix this?
Is keeping the ROM mandatory to you? If not you can always change, I think. Not a very good resolution, but since not a pro, not anything else I can think of..
I'm willing to switch ROM, but I like this one when it works. the weird thing is that the USB connectivity suddenly stopped working. I didn't change any settings nor made I any adjustments to my phone. Also, when I turn my phone off and connect it via USB to my computer, it does get recognized and my P880 displays the charging animation. But when my PC begins looking for drivers it suddenly crashes (BSOD)

I got the BSOD several times too, with different ROMs. In my case it is caused by using Windows 8 and shutting the phone down (or rebooting it) while it is connected in anything other than 'Charging' mode. We know that Windows 8 drivers have issues with this phone, and this is just another of those problems.

that cm is basically an alpha version, it was the first rom on 4.3 we got for our device. plus, the kernel in it is also 3.4 alpha instead of usual 3.1 which is more stable, so check out official CM 10.2 for our device. you should not have any major issues with it.
When I plugged my phone into my AC charger this morning, It bleeped and confirmed that it was indeed charging. I tried my connecting to my PC and it connected like it should. I didn't turn my phone off overnight, nor have I tried any fixes. It seems like a self-breaking and fixing ROM

I will try the official CM 10.2. Is the kernel the only difference? (I'm fairly new to custom ROMs)

[Q] USB Connection not detected - Strange charging bahavior

Well this problem drives me crazy.
My phone (i9070) doesn't make any sound when I plug it on my computer or charger and no charging indication appears either on the phone.
On computer side device appears under the storage devices.
However is seems that the power connection is working since if I restart the phone while the power plug is still connected the charging indicator appears. In addition after the restart the battery seems to reach 100% extremely soon (which is not normal at all). Unplugging the charger (or the computer) doesnt detected either by phone, the charging indicator is still active until restart.
I tried to factory reset the device and still "no juice".
I have tried 3 different cables with two computers where the device was connected few days ago without any problem.
I don't know what should I suspect.
Faulty battery? Faulty data connection on phone plug? OS based issue?
Any ideas?

What ROM and what kernel you are using?
Sent from my GT-I9070 using Tapatalk
Sorry forgot to mention these info:
Kernel
3.0.31-CoCore-EP-8.2
Updated to 8.2 after the problems I had CoCore 8.0 until the problem appeared.
ROM
LightJB v1.2
I used to work with JellyMod v4.0 until the problem appeared and I switched to LIghtJB v1.2 to test if the problem fixed but the same behavior here.
Should I replace my battery?
Is there any way to check if the USB connection gets detected by the phone hardware (a diagnostic procedure)?

Put the phone in download mode, connect to PC via USB cable and open Odin. If the phone connects, I recommend a reflash with one firmware.

Is it charging? Bad cable? Change USB port on PC, put it in some other.
You said you have charging problems? It is not shown (in phone, procentage is not going up) or it is not charging at all?
Luckily for u it's a broken flex (cheap) it costs $10 including tools to fix it yourself on ebay

[Q] Phone cycling through charge

Hello,
I am getting a big problem with my HTC one here, it won't charge. It's been a problem I had for like two weeks, when I messed up the installation of a kernel. I don't know if it's related or if it's just a coincidence, but it has never happened before.
So here is what happened. I make a backup of my rom ( pranoid 4.6 BETA-2) and then install the kernel. I install it and it fails ( can't boot ) because I messed up the choice of the kernel. So I restore my backup and then boot.
Later that day I put my phone to charge, one my computer, and notice that it doesn't really charge. Like I plug the USB cable in, it charges for a few seconds, like maybe 5 but can be up to 30, it's random) and then just stop charging. And if I plug the USB cable out of my phone and put it again, it will charge again, but if I plug in and out of my comp it won't.
I tried charging it with wall adapter, same deal. But the major thing that make me almost sure that it's not hardware, if I plug it on my comp, even when the phone stops to charge, it will continue to detect and be able to access USB storage.
I wiped and flash everything I could and it stopped, just like that and started working normally again. Happened an other time, during the whole afternoon, and then worked again.
But happened to me yesterday and still haven't been able to charge it.
So I came here for help, hope some of you can help me fix this.
Thanks
if you think that this is not the hardware problem, you can try to flash RUU.
Find RUU for your CID and flash it via fastboot.
I assume, that your PC sees your phone in fastboot, right?
If you will have any questions, PM to me, coz I'm not all the time at Q&A here

Phone Won't Charge Unless I Restart

Hi,
I've been using my Redmi K20 Pro since November and I encountered a problem where my phone won't charge. I tried my backup charger and usb-c cable but it still didn't work. Once I restarted the phone it began charging again. Based on my testing once I unplug the charger I need to restart again to see the lightning icon charging indicator. I also noticed that the charging speed is very slow unlike how it used to. I am using xiaomi eu and I updated to the latest version thru the update app but still having the same result. Has anyone encountered this or have an idea on how to fix it? I see lots of similar issues with xiaomi phones but of different model on google but I can't find anything useful.
Thank you

Sounds like there's and issue with charging port and daughter board, if you've done a reinstall. Does the same thing happen when charging from a laptop or pc?

Ah okay, that's really strange, I was thinking it might be the port but if it works fine on USB then maybe not, and you've tried a completely different plug and cable aswell?
Do you use any battery charge limit apps?
If you are like me flashaholic, then sometimes with dirty flashing rom gets messed. Try flashing stock (fastboot rom) miui to teset everything to stock and then see if it charges normally. If not there could be hardware issue
With regards to the replies above..
I've only flashed once to Xiaomi EU. I've also tried a different usb-c cable
I notice that when I plug my phone to my laptop, it keeps getting disconnected and reconnected for any small movements of the cable
Sometimes I get fast charging when I perform a restart so it starts to charge
I don't use any battery apps or any cleaner apps

Sounds like the charging port has an issue, the fact if it is connecting disconnecting from movement of cable points to it I reckon
Hello,
Have you solved your problem? I have the same insue and I can't solve it, the last option was to flash the last oficial global rom (fastboot methdo), but it didn't solve it ...
Thank you.

So, I have this issue on my another phone poco f1 what I did was clean the charging port with some stick and cotton. Basically its a charging port issue, you have to clean the port or take a service to clean port completely or change port this issue will be solved
Mi 9T (Global) have the same issue, i check with USB Tester...
every restart the charging system is reset.
Before restart: 9-10W
After restart: 16-17W
Same adapter & Same cable & same time
Some times the phone not charge at all
Restart solve this issue
When i connect the phone to computer it's not work
Restart the phone when his connected to the computer solve the issue
Xiaomi fix you hardware & software !!!!
Hello
I have the same issue with my two phones MI 9 T PRO, never used USB C before, even 3.5mm jack, i have the error message on the notification and i cannot remove it: "Can't play audio through adapter. Use digital earphones or earphones with 3.5mm plug". when i plug my charger into my phone the fast charge is displayed but it won't charge, The only way to charge my phone is to reboot it and it's charge like there is no problem! but the error message is still on notification but charge with fast charge! I bought my phones march 2020, and the issue appeared since sept - oct. I have the latest update MIUI 12.0.3.
I facing same problem on my mi9tpro with global miui12 what's going on guys how to fix the problem?
Hey guys, I think I have the answer!
Its all about the MIUI optimization, you just have to go into developer options, search for MIUI optimization, turn it off, restart, turn it on and restart again. Everything should go well after this! I hope all of you end with this headache!

Hello team!
I was facing the same problem on a Redmi 3S Pro, and decided to come by and let u guys know my handling of this.
My phone has quiet some years of usage right now and its a bit beaten, but still runs great.
Out of nowhere it decided to not charge anymore, and I noticed it would charge with device off or after a plugged restart.
It decided to work again after i entered fast boot (unplugged) and exited fastboot back into system then plugging.
Not entirely sure this fixed it, but looks like it.
Some notes:
I was trying a couple things like trying to enter safe mode and combinations of plugged/unplugged restarts
I did not factory reset
I did not let it end the fastboot loading (force rebooted somewhere in the middle of loading fastboot)
To fastboot, power off the device, then press power button and down volume
If u dont know what u doing, DO NOT go sticking metals into your usb port to clean it, cause if it charges when off, this is NOT dirt problem. Be advised..
I was able to reproduce the issue (sadly) after playing with normal reboot/fastboot then reboot , but then i tried reproducing the fix:
Unplug and turn off device
Turn on to fastboot (down volume + power)
Now, first time, after entered fastboot screen, i rebooted and it did not work, then i tried again but i had to let it run a bit longer on fastboot screen then reboot for it to work
I know the fastboot performs some system checks while loading, but i don't have much time to keep digging this, maybe another day i'll come back with more info.
I'm guessing its system issue, not hardware (at least in my case).
But now, charging is working even after normal reboots for me, so i think i'm onto something =]
Hope this can be useful to someone.
Happy hacking!
Cheers
Hello everyone , I had the same issue and fixed it .
My solution was to change the usb-c port (daughter board). everything works as its supposed now.
I looked everywhere for software issues , flashed many different roms to no avail.
There was only one rom that tipped me that there was a problem on usb c port though, ita pixel experience rom, it showed a persistent notification that there was something plugged in the usbc when there was nothing there.
once I replaced my port (cost only 14$ for original with fast charging IC) ,and upon inspection of my replaced board under microscope , the last pin on the left in the usb C port was bent in a way that was impossible to see with a naked eye, now I bought a usb c port and soldered it back to my original daughter board and I keep it as spare one.
Hope this will save you your battery and your time.
(if you keep using like this and have to restart everytime for a charge , it will eventually fail , better replace it when you have time , than your phone going off when you most need it)
