Hi guys
we are all familiar with Xtremeguard's deals but they have another great code(82OFF2) which will earn you 82% off 2 or more items you purchase. I just bought Droid DNA,Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 TPU cases and it just cost me $6!. Screen protectors should be even cheaper! And shipping is free with international shipping only $4. Been buying their products almost every month as they are awesome value! Do check it out!

Thanks for posting this! I ordered screen protectors for my Nexus 7 during the Memorial Day sale...the only think I didn't like was that they were shipped in an envelope without cardboard or some sort of protector to prevent from bending. Luckily mine weren't bent. This time I ordered a TPU case for my Nexus 7 and Note 2 PLUS 4 screen protectors for the Note 2...total cost $10.20
yeh its amazing value when such codes are valid. Retains all properties of its rivals. You just need to 'season' the screen protector for a weeks and the texture will be manageable. Yeh i agree, the envelopes are a bit flimsy, but that's how they keep shipping cheap i guess. The best deal i ever encountered however was 3 months back when they offered 80% off plus free international shipping. I ordered like 10 items that time!
Are these protectors like invisible sheild or ghostguard? I mean, are the flexible ones that are kinda like a more elastic vinyl or are the cheap plastic semi rigid ones?

Do you mean it gets better with time? Bought two and had one of them for like 2 or 3 days before peeling it off as the feel was just horrible. I've had a lot of other screen protectors and they aren't so soft and sticky as these ones.
Xtremeguard's screen protectors are slightly thicker than it's rivals.that's what I have come to notice.after a few days of using it,the rubbery feel does decrease by about half. You have to keep using it and rubbing it clean and repeat that for a few weeks and you will have almost a smooth surface. Alternatively, you can apply a tiny drop of baby oil on the surface and spread it evenly. The coating lasts for 2days. Surefire method and small inconveniences for a not so inconvenient price! Though if they sort the texture out it will be one of the best deals ever!

That sure sounds like lots of work. Baby oil every few days or just waiting weeks for the surface to break in. Why not just go with the $2 eBay protector that works from day one and never needs any special babying or water to put it on in the first place?

Now I won't have to resort to an a##-r### $40 skin from Zagg!
I've been using BestSkinsEver skins for over a year. With full body phone skins (of superb quality) for $8, they are unbeatable!
Check out my Nexus One skin pictures: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=5502896&postcount=94
Woohoo!!!
BSE is still good for body protection... but for screen protection they have a more significant orange peel effect than the other skins (Bodyguardz, Phantomskinz, Invisibleshield). It's much more noticeable on the screen. I haven't tried BSE in a year or so and that was on the Palm Pre. I'm not sure anything has changed.
Edit: I'm guessing they will likely be $18.99 like the skins for the Ipad, Kindle, etc.

mine is amazing from ebay atari, pics later
I had Best Skins Ever on my 3GS. They were just ok, the fit was pretty good but it gave the phone a slight orange peel. I ended up taking the screen cover off and just leaving the back on. Also for some reason it got a spot on it kind of like a reverse blister about a 1/2 inch in diameter. You know, when the fluid leaves the blister and the skin sinks into the void. It was still bonded well that region. I think rubbing against my keys or change in my pocket caused it. Maybe some of the plasticizers leached out or migrated? It did serve it's purpose and my after a year still looked like new.

this is good stuff. i ordered two. one for myself and one fo the wife.
some tips for install:
get the screen protector and the large back piece wet. DONT wet the bezel piece or the small piece that covers your sdcard flap. they will slide around and not stay put after the install.
for the screen, wet it, apply it straight, and squegee the water out with a credit card or preferably a rubber squeegee. same for the home button bezel and the back.
the sdcard flap is easy as pie, just stick it on and rub it out with your finger...
the bezel piece is the most difficult. peel the bottom edge up and line it up. just apply it in an upwards motion, leaving the top part still on the wax paper so it doesnt tangle and get all goofy, and squeegee the air out upwards as you go. dont fret about a bubble or two or some haziness leftover. that will go away in a day or two.
leave your nook alone for about an hour for the adhesive to cure as the excess moisture under the protector will cause it to slide around when messed with.
overall, these are a great value for anyone that does not want a case on their nook, but still wants to protect it. it does make the surfaces quite shiny, and the screen still seems to attract the same amount of fingerprints.... also, as with the ZAGG invisishield, there is some orange peel effect, but it isnt near as pronounced as on the ZAGG. the screen is quite smooth, and the back has a nice feel. would be nice to have a matte option, but for the price, it cant be beat.
i have about 4 days use on it, in and out of my cargo pocket, the drawer at work, the map pocket in my car door... and no issues, no peeling or anything. i am pleasantly surprised. DEFINITELY worth getting one of these though.

It was the introductory price I got the front only though. I received it a few days ago but haven't gotten the time to install it.
Has anyone bought/used these before, and do they work? I have an s-line tpu case and wondered if its worth it to upgrade to this. -Ara

Amzer is a pretty decent company to buy from, and the skins are somewhat inexpensive. They sent me a few demo items to see if our stores were interested in carrying their Nexus 7 products... The overall fit was pretty snug, the skin seems fairly well made minus the edges which needed a little cleaning up. I didn't have any issues with the skin obstructing any features of the device, and it was easy to slip on and off. Here's a few pictures, hope they help with the decision making:

So just a little more feedback on this silicone skin... I dropped my Nexus 7 while getting out of my Jeep this morning (hands full and in a hurry to get to the office), and the blasted thing landed face down on concrete. If not for this skin I would instead be spending my evening searching for a replacement screen. It's by no means an otterbox, but the fact that it covers around the screen saved it.
Definitely give it two thumbs up!
Amzer silicone case
I got the black one bought at Expansys.com. It feels great, very thick rubber with a leather-like texture, reinforced with the x-shaped, thicker rubber piece in the middle that serves as an outer skeleton and adds extra rigidity. The case wraps around of all of the device without obstructing any holes/ports similarly to an otterbox impact cases. The edges serve the protective purpose. There is nothing wrong with them. They are spaced out more like the protruding edges of balistic cases. I feel confident that if my Nexus falls it will bounce off without any damage due to the case design. I store my Nexus when not in use in the bag inside a Case Logic Eva zippered case for additional screen protection.
We just reviewed one here at the office and the case does a pretty decent job. Not expensive either, so, I'd say worth the purchase.

This needs a bump, I ordered one from amazon.. and it was crap to say the least. I contacted Amzer and even though i ordered from a third party seller they offered to replace it for me for FREE! gotta love customer service! Other than that its a great case. :good:
Nice case!
I have the black one ordered from amazon as well.. It came in very quick . I agree this will protect the device from most bumps and bangs. this is the 3rd case i bought .
I am going to sell all 3 on ebay for a good price if i decide against buying another nexus 7.. not made my mind up. sent two back not sure i wanna deal with the hassles of google device support to order another..
anyway GREAT CASE for the money..

Got it at a local AT&T store, you can check stores' inventory on their site.
Thanks for the pictures, any other comments on it?
Also, the price is pretty steep for a case like this. Did you pay full price?

With my experience, the backside of this case will get scuffs and scratches on it big time. Had one for my Infuse and Note 1. I wouldn't recommend it.
....The Case-Mate POP Case - Samsung Galaxy NoteĀ® II is similar in size to this one but has a stand and doesn't scuff up. I had one but returned it for another case at AT&T just yesterday.
I like it so far. Adds a decent amount of weight to the phone, not too much bulk.
I like the overall shape of the phone better with it.
Button feel is the best of any case i've used on any phone. Soft but taticle.
thanks. but for for $38 nah. maybe $25

I know what you mean, I had a candyshell years ago and it got scuffed up pretty quick. Why did you return the Case-Mate?
Yeah, I paid full retail... but I work for TMo, so having the discount on my plan makes it OK to splurge on an accessory now and then
I had one of these on my HTC Inspire (2 actually, different colors) I loved it, I will be buying one of these once Speck starts selling them and not just AT&T.
Waiting for different colors. Hurry up Speck. Speck always has discounts so no worries regarding the full price.
In my experience, specks has push candyshell cases out with steep price for a while now. They lost my interests when they release ugly version for iPhone 4 with giant camera cut out. Overall it looks OK but bulky and like many have said too glossy thus scratches can be seen easily. I would rather get a pixel skin HD if it comes out.
I love the look, the protection appears solid but the retail price is too high for my taste. Since I'm a battery swapper is the case easy to remove?

yup. just push from the camera and it pops out.
I found this 25% off accessories coupon on the internet and used it at an AT&T corporate store today. Came out to $31 with tax. It didn't work on their website.
Hey guys,
I've had my Mac protected with Wrapsol since i bought it in august. Had the film replaced once under warranty when i was replacing my hard drive. It's a great product, great warranty, and great customer service.
So on black Friday i Purchased my Note 2 as well as a Wrapsol for it. The second i tok the Note 2 ot of the box, i installed the wrapsol. Overall its great. I love it. I usually hate screen protectors. (Hate Zagg for yellowing and grip-ness, hate military shield for marks that are left with your nails, and hated the Moshi antiglare. All were on my S3).
This one i truly love. It was my second experience every with their "Dry application". (the mac is a wet application). Had zero bubbles in the front. Had 3 bubbles in the back that went away after a few hours. everything is protected. Your nails don't leave marks in it. and the film doesn't yellow over time. No marks left in it by the S-pen. No rainbow effect. Also IMO, Smooth as glass, not like the zagg shield. Also, no texture to it and no orange peel. They give you a life-time warranty. Even if you peeled it off yourself cause you installed it incorrectly.
The only thing i didn't like about it were the side protectors. They're a PITA to install, and the edges on them are annoying. so i took them off.
and best of all the film didn't lift when i installed my new Speck candyshell case. (awesome case, but gets scratched way to easily. )
Here are pictures:

Currently have Spigen Ultra-Oleophobic installed. I'm actually quite happy with it because my installation was good, and it is resisting fingerprints very well. But your review of Wrapsol had me want to try it. It seems that Wrapsol is much thicker and would provide better protection for the Note 2's large screen. The Ultra-Oleophonic does scratch a bit with the S-Pen, but it seems that I can wipe the scratches away.
Anyway, what do you think? Would you recommend a switch to Wrapsol?

Completely agreed. Sp oleophonic does scratch a bit, not horrible but its there. I'm super careful where I put my phone, always in my front pocket by itself.
Please update this thread whether it produces scratches or not later.

Crappiest protectors ever. Bought three. For my G4 and Nexus 7 and for an SGS4. Refunded all of them.
Even if they offered a 100% discount I would still not be interested. As with all things though: YMMV :good:

Thanks. I always just use those eBay screen protectors, you know, pack of 6 for 2 bucks. They work SO well and they're SO cheap! I used to use those Zagg ones way back when I had Blackberries, haha. I didn't like the yellow peel on them. Plastic 3 layer protectors are the way to go.

Yeah? I've applied a few tempered glass protectors, but apart from my own inability to correctly place them, the ones that have gone on without any issues usually produce a problem when I put on a case when I go for a run. The edges of the case put pressure on the protector and lift up the edges sooner or later and I get dust under there. I have yet to have any issues with the plastic sceen protectors. Not to mention, I go through like 4 of them every time due to dust in my house (pets and such), it's impossible for me to find a perfectly still and clean workspace here! hahaha. :good:
