I'm new to the Xperia V, and am looking for a Lite version of the stock ROM.
I like what Sony have done, but don't need all the social apps, google apps and other bloatware, but I can't find an existing ROM being developed for the V that offers a lite install of the stock ROM.
Something like the Curiosity ROM which is available for Xperia T owners.
Am I missing something, I have looked through all the V development thread with no luck.
Regards
Hello,
You might be interested in the Smart Xperia V ROM in the Android Developement section
This is as close to stock as it can be, but without the bloatware. It's deodexed too
Alternatively you can try the Unique ROM flavour, for a taste of customisation.
Both are stock based and work on locked bootloaders.
I hope you like them - just search/browse a bit more in the Developement section
Best regards.

Thanks for your reply.
(Un)fortunately no searching is necessary to explore the Xperia V ROMS on xda as there are only a couple of pages to browse through.
I have already evaluated all the ROMS in the development thread and none meet my needs for a stock ultralite ROM without google/social/bloat. Great ROMS as they are. Yes the smart rom does look interesting.
It's a shame there is so little development fo the XV

Hi,
I have a Xperia T running Jelly Bean 4.1.2 and I really think it is time to update. There is a custom rom out for the Xperia T called "CM10.1 Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean Custom ROM" and there is a Kit-Kat custom rom out for the Xperia T called "Android 4.4 KitKat Omni" I want to update to either one of these, Which do you think is the best for PERFORMANCE. or which is the BEST custom rom out there for the Xperia T?
I have seen many custom roms including pacmans rom, cm10.1 and the 4.4 kitkat custom rom. There is a issue with the 4.4 kitkat which is "HDMI out" .. I dont think this will have a big impact on me as I do not really have a HDMI out port on my phone? and seriously have no idea what it is aswell. Can anyone tell me what is the best custom rom out there for the Xperia T! Will appreciate it!
Thanks
Just remember that if you want to run CM or Omni, you'll need an unlocked bootloader.
What the best custom rom is, is a matter of personal preference. X will say rom Y, because it had feature Z and A will say rom B, because it is Android version C. So, generally we suggest to read the respective threads to learn what features a rom has and to check whether people experience e.g. bugs or other problems and then decide which one to install. A good place to start reading about flashing and what you'll need is the All-in-One thread.
You'll probably end up flashing other roms anyway when you get hit by the virus
Oh, and if you don't know what HDMI out is, you probably don't use it, so you don't have to worry about it just search of you encounter concepts you're not sure about.

I am looking to start modding my Z1. I had a Galaxy S2 and used Pac-Man Rom before and loved it.
The thing is I want an Xperia based Rom.
So does anyone know which one is the best Xperia based (JB 4.3) Rom and why?
Also can you confirm if I require to unlock bootloader (and what are the disadvantages of doing so)
Hello,
the big thing is you have to try it.Everyone likes something other and different.I testet 7 roms for now and im not perfect yet. What do you want Stock?,maximal customizability?,voltage mods include?,deodexed?.It's a long table find out what you want and then ask for the rom what is voltage mod ... etc.

Hey Nico,
Thanks for the reply. I want something more Xperia deodexed like. Not looking for stock android as for that I would go back to Pac-Man (like my s2).
I really like Xperia UI but need a bit more that I feel like its missing: e.g. Ihacker or monxDIFIED but the differences between then seem very small. Major things are alike (boot menu, connectivity etc. ) so I would like to know if either of those is better or there is something alike that is better.

I'm running monx rom now with doomlords kernel and running pretty damn good. Just try them out, if u got the bootloader unlocked it only takes a few mins to try a new rom

hey guys,
I supportet monx a little with a little donation, and now i get the early Rom build.I have also to say i like the I Hackers which i have on my Phone now but the big issue is no recovery. And also i miss the reboot bars and stuff thats the point to go for me.My first well and fast running rom on the Xperia was the monox thats the point why i decided to donate some and get the latest stuff.Personally i can say that was the best rom for me on 4.2.2.Anyway all Roms are good,I try the 4.3 build of him and then i'll give a new feedback.
best regards,
Nico
Someone please explain this to me why there is no custom ROM with latest build of android(4.4.4) and with Sony's apps and theme, is it impossible? Why not to import Z2 ROM to Z and have 4.4.4 with latest goodies?
Sony's themes run off a custom framework and their apps also rely on frameworks/files only found in stock roms.
It would be very difficult if not impossible to achieve what you're talking about.

Back in the days I had an HTC Diamond, and it was amazing all the import that devs did for that phone, apps, new windows versions, everything they imported for it, I miss such a community. Pity
Hello Guys
As you can see, I am new to this forum. I have been trying to find out which is the best custom rom available on xda for Xperia SP 5303.
Please share your thoughts on the same. I have tried with ExistenZ, Xperianze, MIUI and few other. My bet is on ExistenZ as of now because of the stability, performance and battery backup it provides. The only shortcoming as per my opinion is it is in 4.3 Jelly Bean till now.
MIUI is the second best because of the beautiful UI and other features but the performance is not so stable and nothing groundbreaking.
Please share your thoughts.
Please note that this is not to judge anybody's work but just to share thoughts.
Thanks
Jagan
Currently on ExistenZ custom ROM for Xperia SP
Firstly, it's not allowed to ask for and/or discuss the "best" ROM. Why?
What can be a brilliant ROM for one person can be useless for someone else... and vice versa.
The fact that I for one hate using MIUI, which is your "second best ROM", just proved my statement.
Therefor, there no such thing as a "best ROM".
As mentioned we do not allow best ROM/Kernel threads, The question is subjective. Best advice is to head over to the development section, try some out and see which best suits your needs.

Hey
Right now i am using 5.1.1 Neo's mod but i can't endure it any longer.
Half day and my battery is almost dead...
So i decided to back to android 4.3 or 4.4 and here is my question.
What do You recomend?
Original or custom rom?
It needs to be stable and ofc i'd like my battery live longer
Thanks in advance
Stock 4.3 with Xposed Framework installed is the best combination for our phones.
I am using PAC-MAN on my xperia v and I can get 2 days of battery life, this rom is amazing. If you really want to go back to 4.3 or 4.4 yes, use stock, but it is not very good for bayttery life. You have a Question like me before (look at xperia v problems thread by me). I searched alot to find best rom which have nice battery life, and i found it.
To be honest i would like the most stable rom.
I read "know bugs" of Pac-Man and i found that there are few like vibrations, headsets and know bugs from CM.
And that is little problem for me :c
I am using it and there is no bugs (PAC-ROM). Anyway you have to choose...
