Part number of USB connector on motherboard - LG Optimus Black

I recently picked up a spoilt LG Optimus Black (White) that wouldn't turn on. When I opened it up, the socket where the USB charging flex connects to the mainboard had desoldered itself. I tried to solder it back on but I damaged it (too much heat).
Anyone knows the part number so I can order a new one and try to solder it back on? Thanks!

Did you search the service manual? You might find its number there (I hope).

Service Manual LG P970 (Optimus Black)
Avoid using a soldering iron above 25W (even 25W may be too much), and you'll probably need a tip with less than 1mm.

Interesting, but...quite honestly, I don't know if super glue won't damage PCB's fiberglass....be careful.

I mean my mother has bought herself a S/E C905 phone and in the box there was a USB converter where you could insert the Sony M2 and then flash the card on the pc.
Why did S/E do something simular with the X1?
because m2 adapters are not common+ there is no real demand for something like that especially when you consider that you can simply use the usb cable to do what you want
get one from here its only $1.07 with free shipping worldwide

there are cheaper ones but this one works fine

Hell's yeah, I'd be pissed at the manufacturer if the windshield cracked at -20C! That's a manufacturing defect for sure. Unless you bought a South American car and were driving it in the Yukon.
You buy a product in Canada, it should be built to withstand Canadian weather. You buy a product in the US, it should be built to withstand the weather extremes there. Same for any part of the world.

Advice on this wireless charger

will this damage my device? Will it charge correctly and completely?

thanks for any input..
You should check out the wireless charging mod thread in the original Android development section, it's much cheaper and doesn't seem very difficult to do. Also from the reports you know it's safe if you do it correctly.

That actually isn't an option for me. On my original note the usb port started getting a little used and worn. So I'd rather not deal with plugs. You know those mac book mag chargers? I'd love to get one of those for phones. This is the closest were going to get Atm. I'd love to get a 2 amp charger for the note2 using induction. Hopefully the official kit will come out soon from Samsung.

According to the picture it connects to two metal contacts we don't have. So I don't think it will work.
If you have an international version, go right ahead and buy it.

What POGO pin does what? I want to make my own POGO pin dock.

Since it seems that I will never be able to own the official dock I want to look into making my own that works with the pins. Does anyone know which pin does what? Which ones for sound and which ones for the power? Actually is this correct in this thread?

There is also tons of information here.

Did you make that little plastic housing yourself or did you buy it from somewhere already assembled?

I would assume he made it since it looks like it's part of a T-Mobile Sim Card, most likely from when he trimmed it down to be a MicroSIM.

[REPAIR DYI] GPS contact

Hi all
Long story short, after I sent my nexus to ASUS Repair Service under warranty, they denied warranty and asked me for 200€ for a new board.
The problem is that my tablet is missing one of the 2 gps connectors on the mainboard that make contact with the antenna (back cover).
Any ideias if I can repair it myself? I am looking for a connector that fits as the original one to try and get it working. I may need to solder it into the board. Anyone tried something like this yet?
Thanks in advance

you can do what that other guy did for his WiFi and just solder 2 wires from the board to the antenna on the back cover
You can't solder wires and expect it to work properly due to high frequency miss match issues. Carefully desolder one of the group d clips close to the end of the PCB by the speakers and use that to replace the broken clip. They're all the same type.

you can just solder wire to the antenna, dude who install in their cars have done it and works.

Car paint advice

This post was supposed to be more of an advice on how to paint the car after getting hit. I was hit by my impatient roommate two days ago in our driveway and I went to get an estimate on the damage and was quoted $250. There are no dents and the scratches don't seem that bad so $250 seemed like a lot of money for what the issue is. I was just wondering if anyone knew what it SHOULD cost to fix this?

You should color it in the XDA color scheme, with a huge XDA logo on both doors.

It really isn't that hard to DIY a job like that yourself. I've painted many cars myself. All you really need is the right colour, and a spray gun, which is not that hard to borrow. For a small section like that you don't need a spray booth, though you may want a dropsheet for your driveway/shed floor.
