How long does it take for BlinkFeed to refresh new content for you?
Whether I'm on WiFi or LTE, I find that it takes between 6 - 10 seconds for my BlinkFeed to refresh with new content now. I'm currently running Android Revolution HD 10.1 with Android 4.2.2 (I can't post this on that forum since I don't have 10 posts yet), and I find that BlinkFeed takes forever to load (in it, I have "Technology - Smartphones", Facebook, Twitter and Instagram loading).
Also, is there a way for BlinkFeed to refresh automatically without flicking to refresh? I have it set to reload on WiFi and data, but it doesn't refresh in the background.
Thanks.

I'm probably at around five seconds too, a little slow but I'm sure there's a silly reason for it. Make sure you have auto sync enabled if you're using a settings widget(I think there's one built into revolution), auto sync stumped me for a bit until I hit it for fun and everything started automating
Just tested. Took 6-7 sec on WiFi. Stock Rom
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
takes me around 10-15. but thats cause i have like 10 different things refreshing itself. it will refresh automatically but unless your sitting there for an hour haha its hard to tell.
Mine takes 6 seconds over Wi-Fi. That's with facebook, gaming and everything under "technology and science" checked. Can't complain

Are you running stock or custom ROM?
Like 2/3 seconds. Depends on how many sources you have enabled.

Better late than never, but this sorted it for me:
Go to the list of Topics & Services, uncheck Google+ then Refresh your Blinkfeed.

Wrong time on SMS messages.
especially on the Rogers network in Canada
this should work with all roms though so far i only tested it on My Hero 1.1.3
Instructions:
1. ---- Go to Settings > Date & Time
2. ---- Disable Automatic
3. ---- Go to "Select Time Zone"
4. ---- **** IMPORTANT ****
Start at time zone 0:00 - check your SMS time stamps (use a recent one and compare, it also helps if you temporarily use 24 hour time until you find your time zone)
then move up to +1:00 and see if the time stamp gets closer to what it should be, if it gets closer, move to +2:00 and check again,
+3:00, +4:00 etc.
if not go to -1:00 and check, -2:00, -3:00, -4:00 etc.
5. --- After you find your time zone, fix the date and then your done
**KNOWN ISSUE*** your appointments may have the wrong time!! so you might have to move some of them to the proper time!!
For Alberta the Time zone to fix SMS is -2:00
please post settings for different areas

i was having this problem till i updated my phone to a new release of the rogers rom.......

GMT-0 for Toronto
There is a app in the market called smsfixtimes and its working with all the recent hero/sense roms I have tried recently. And if you use this program all your other times in the phone won't get messed up (ie. gmail, exchange email and calender)

Worked!!! Thank you man. That was one of the biggest things bugging me about the Hero ROM but and the timezone fix wasn't what i wanted (my calender and emails were off).
Now just to fix the camera button back to the camera button instead of search.

Ya I tried this app a few times, it seems to work at first but it always seems to bugg out and revert back to the wrong time stamps. (running My Hero 1.1.3)
yeah but what if it timestamps it with the wrong year? mine shows today as 7/7/16
So I tried this fix. It did not work for me. Im in Hawaii and my incoming sms are 1 hour off. If I change my time zone one hour in one way it makes no difference then further that way and its 2 hours off. But if I go the other way it is 2 hours off.
My phone is a Sprint branded TP2 it was like this when using this phone on sprint network and also when using my straight talk sim card in it. I think the networks think we participate in the daylight savings thing. Well we dont. Our time never changes. It seems to be correct during the winter months.
Hi
Can't se this mentioned yet but just to let you know the official Twitter app is in the Market and its awesome especially on CM5.07 Twitter contact sync
Nice >Was< using twidroid, this is much nicer imo. Thanx for the post about it.
Twidroid still better. No browser, no refresh on start up. Animations are for kids.
also is only supported for 2.1 roms.
I really like it. I had been using Touiteur since it came out, but the official app is better overall and much faster at refreshing tweets.

Same here. It's also the first version so it can only get better.
Uh? No retweets with comments possible. It doesn't save the position, you always must scroll down to read the first unread tweet.
Not so very good.
What's it called anyways? As I don't see it in the Market.

I searched for 'twitter' and it came up in the results.
For a first version it is very good but as some have pointed out it's missing features that are very useful, if not almost required. Integrated browser for links, image loading without a browser or via the browser, viewing of profile images and the most important from my perspective - remembering your last position in the list.
It's very fast and the integration with 2.1 is nice, using the same mini-bar option if you push the arrow to the right of someone's tweet. However, until it has the ability to remember your list position and some form of integrated browser I'll be staying with Touiteur Premium.
Does anyone know how to clear old tweets from the timeline? I've been using the app for a few days now, and every tweet I've received during that time is still there, which creates a little sluggishness. It'd be nice to be able to clear the list every once in a while.
Can't seem to find my lists... Yes i can delete and manage them, but i can't see them. What the hell? I think ill just go back to Seesmic... Simple, fast and reliable
Is anyone else having a problem with only a small fraction of your tweets being updated in your timeline? This is what happens for me: lets say I haven't used the app all night, and in the morning when I know I have 100+ new tweets to read, when I hit refresh only ~20 tweets are updated. Then when I scroll down past those 20 latest tweets, there is a huge gap after the 20th tweet. After the 20th tweet, there is a huge jump back to the last time I hit refresh (usually 8+ hours earlier). This only happens on 1.01...it did not happen on 1.00. Anyone else?
i'm sorry for my poor english
i'm using a 9020T
after flashing the stock 4.0.3 OTA, everything is good except browsing some chinese sites(such as www.163.com www.sina.com.cn in desktop mode) with the stock browser
on those sites, when i zoom in to max, the characters will not be clear after several secs(for 5-8 secs most of the times, though sometimes only 2-3 secs ,and sometimes 15+ secs,so i think maybe something is bugged)
and then, after the characters are ok and the redering finished , if zoom out to min again, it will use even more time to show all page than zooming in.
i tried to do a full wipe , unfortunately the issue persists in a newly flashed ics4.0.3 with no google account logged, with almost every setting disabled, even with no sim card
also tested with 3g /edge / wifi.
but what the strange thing is, i have asked some 9023 people but they don't have the issue, and one of my friends using 9020T just got the same as i got.
i've seen some one on xda get the same issue on visiting a non-english site

This update made my phone look better and run smoother.
I have a problem with the browser rendering real websites extremely slow.
When I zoom in, I takes a lot of time for the text to focus.
When I zoom out, I see the tile for about 30 seconds until I see the other parts of the website.
For other problem (like FB) I can say this:
Not all apps are adjusted for ICS so the battery problem may be because of an app taking all the battery (if it requests services from the androis os thread you might not notice it an app problem)
For problems with the facebook app - delete the cache and app data in the application setting menu
Update: I found that the browser slowing down when going into Hebrew web sites in desktop mode. English sites render a lot faster

I have noticed the same issues.
Any resolution to this? I'm noticing the same issues, and I'm wondering why.
Flash ICS 4.0.4! Why are you still on 4.0.3?

Hi,
Im just curious how to track down the reason for reboots with stock ROM and stock kernel, not rooted. I had one random reboot yesterday (when watching trailers in the IMDB app) after almost a week I own N7. I know that one reboot in a week is nothing, but its my new toy and Id like to know how to track down the reason for that in case it happens again.
I found out some threads about this and generally it says I should use LogCat - but I dont know how to use it. So I please ask for help! For now, I started Stability Test (CPU+GPU) and wait ...
Happy New Year, Y'all !!!
EDIT: Ghardashyan a bit lower mentioned hes been having reboots when watching youtube videos. Anybody else having this kind of behavior? Also, I had my reboot when watching trailers in the IMDB app - its playing via youtube, right?
The ONLY reboot I have ever seen, is when the default lockscreen widget gets updated by the marketplace. It's guaranteed to reboot on 4.2. It does it every time on both my Nexus 4 and my Nexus 7.
You will only ever see it, if you remove the default android 4.2 lockscreen time widget and put something else there from the marketplace, and only when that widget gets a marketplace file update.
Perhaps you are seeing this? Do you have auto-update apps enabled???

I dont have auto-update enabled. I added another time/weather widget to the lockscreen but I dont think it got updated yesterday ... I will remove it and hope it wont reboot again. I sure think it was some app as the stability test goes for 2 hours without problem.

Its to do with location based services, HD Widgets is a major culprit and stated they were talking to Google to try and resolve the issue, it is also as stated before mainly because of the new lockscreen widgets, which HD Widgets also provide, so the stock widget could also cause the same issue?
Mine have pretty much stopped with the last update of HD Widgets, but it does still occur.

Just for your information, I dont use HD Widgets
Since you're on stock rom and kernel, I think the best way would be to reset your device and keep track of what applications are installed, one at a time.
My guess is that one of the installed apps are causing it..

I know that, but as it was one reboot only in less than a week, it could take months to track the app down ... Im about to restart the device myself and then use alogrec to continually record stuff.
EDIT: Alogrec is not recording a thing, so I rooted my phone. In case of restart, I believe it should be enough to save last_kmsg. Am I right?

BTW Is your problem repeatable? Eg. is there any time watching youtube that quarantees reboot? Id like to check that ... And are you using the youtube app?
REALLY?
Check out the thread 4.2 Random reboots instead of making new threads.

Correlation does not equal causation and it seems some are eager to go barking up the wrong tree. As has been stated here, as well as confirmed by Google, it is a bug at the OS level. It has nothing to do, per say, with HD Widgets, YouTube, or any individual app. It affects all products running 4.2 and 4.2.1.
Until Google fixes the issue, there are only two guaranteed workarounds- disable location services or downgrade to 4.1.2.

Thanks, never heard of that. How do I disable Location Services? Should I just turn off the Location access menu? Or is it a service under running services? In that case, which one?

Settings › Location. Bear in mind that the tradeoff is that, among other things, Google Now will no longer be functional.
For me, the reboots haven't been annoying enough to warrant disabling it on mine just yet.

Great, thanks. :good: I disabled that for now and will turn it on only when I need navigation. I dont use Google Now anyway.
BTW, when Google finds a solution for this, should I expect a full system upgrade?
Just experienced my first random reboot while streaming a flash video on Firefox Beta..
Random reboots are annoying me as well with my stock unrooted n7
Mostly though its during wifi/network activity not just in one app, have had reboots while in youtube, ebay, chrome etc. I have also seen it reboot while in standby
All started from 4.2
Would be interested to know if these reboots are reported back to google?

My Nexus 7 has 38 days uptime, only thing "special" I've done is I've disabled lockscreen widgets:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wordpress.chislonchow.deviceadminkeyguard
Stock 4.2.1, rooted.
I have searched for what seems like weeks now on this topic and have found only one relevant post within XDA and Google. Nonetheless, just maybe i have overlooked this specific question or answer some how. Anywho, on every rom the i have flashed supporting sense 5.5, i have been unable to receive content from my own htc gallery though Sense 5.5 BlinkFeed. All other native content sources work such as Calendar and TV, but no Gallery.
I get this message:
NO CONTENT PULL DOWN TO REFRESH
when this procedure is followed it shows a little updating wheel that spins for a couple seconds than no content pull down to refresh displays again.
now again i have flashed and reflashed the Following ROMS With the same Gallery no content Issue:
Android_Revolution_HD-One_30.0.zip
insertcoin-m7-6.0-5.zip (Currently Running)
OrDroid_8.3.0.zip
viperROM_One_v1.1.0.zip
Now i am under the impression that sense 5.5 for the Htc one has not been officially released So there may be some holes in a few of these roms.
Do i need to just edit or add a kernal:good: dunno
please help
All rom are on sense 5.5 (ViperOne is 3.1...) and the gallery work fine.
You will see the pic when you refresh blinkfeed in a place where you shooted and geotagged the photo...
I also don't get anything showing from gallery in blinkfeed. I have pictures geotagged in my home and have refreshed BlinkFeed while at home and still have nothing. I'm running arhd 31

The photo are geotagged at home?
However, you have to move to another place, refresh, and when you re-turn to home and reflash you will see the phoot..
Same thing happened to me, I found that I disabled something in the App section in settings. After I enabled it, blinkfeed worked again

Within my gallery data i have pictures taken away from my google default home location. Gallery/Camera shots/swipe right to locations. Apparently i always have upon refresh No content pull down to refresh is still annoyingly visible. Shouldn't my highlighted photos regardless of the location appear in in htc sense 5.5 BlinkFeed, i dunno . As i navigate to the hypothetical 4th camera shot location tile, each photo or camera shot gives me the exact location it was taken. Is this what you ment by geo tagged or geo tagged
