I'm not real sure if this its in the right forum but it deals with making custom icons so i thought I'd put it here....feel free to move it
I recently downloaded bettercut and started making some shortcuts. Everything has worked for any app that I've downloaded but I'm having troubles with the camera, people, and mail icons. The mail icon changes but as soon as my phone goes to sleep it's back to normal. It will create the icons but when I press them I get a "linked program is no longer installed on your phone" message. Am I missing something here or can i not make custom shortcuts for stock apps?
Thanks
this is a question, so mods can move to Q&A if necessary. though it had more of a chance of being answered here.
Anyone know how to remove the home screen page indicators?
I have TouchWiz 4.5 I believe on Honeycomb 3.2 (Gtab 7.0+ -- P6200)
I have dug through every .xml in Launcher2.apk, there where a few page_indicator lines in like dimens.xml, which I edited to 0.0dip. Ive dug for hours. Also had a peek in twframework-res.apk. Ive seen a few people do this on froyo, as well as move them to the bottom. Ive managed to remove the tabs in the app drawer by changing page indicator value in .xml to 0.0dip
Any hints would be helpful, such as is it an .xml in launcher2.apk? or am I way off?
not new to theming but new to samsung. Working on an ICS theme for 3g Gtab 7+.
Thanks for the help guys.
Hello, excuse me if I post this in the wrong section I am new to this forum.
I would like to know some things about the advanced modifying of GoLauncher themes, or basically android themes in general.
Is there any way to edit the dock on the home screen of a theme to place it somewhere else on the screen and have the ability to make it slide out or pop up from somewhere? I know how to do the graphical side of this but I need a little push in the right way for the programming bit. I do know how to decompile, compile and sign apk files.
Thanks in advance,
Qab
Bump?!
Hi All,
I have a HTC One and recently got the OTA update for Jellybean. On the bar at the bottom i have Phone, Messages, Email and camera but then when i go to my apps i have the same icons again. Seems a little pointless and it's wasting 4 spaces for other apps in the folders.
I also cant hide them or freeze them as it removes both of the icons.
Any ideas how to remove the duplicates and just have them on the bar at the bottom?
Also can i set the home button to go to the app screen and not Blink or the other home screen?
No and no to your questions as far as I know. Two of the unwelcome new features and other me. Personally I created a "useless" the folder and throw all those additional icons in.
Thanks for confirming, shame i should have read all of the notes on the upgrade.

Do you even look at your phone, know how to use search, or Google? I doubt it.
By selecting the 'custom' appdrawer, you can select which icons you want to display and folders etc.
Now, both of you go away and give yourself a good talking to :silly:
I have to be honest I don't have to many friends but I think you may have missed the point of the question or your skim readings are rubbish.
I have the camera, messages, emails and phone icon on the bar at the bottom And in the normal app area. The custom feature is brilliant but when I hide the camera icon it hides both of the icons.
Hello everyone. First hope I'm posting this in the right place.
Today while moving some icons around on my homescreen (stock lg optimus l90 not rooted) I found a neat little trick and didn't see anything about it anywhere so figured I'd post it here. If it has already been mentioned or talked about please delete. If not hope it helps someone or at least someone likes it.
If you press and hold an icon on the home screen that you'd like to change till app info and delete pop up at the top of the screen don't move it just release the icon, a little blue bubble will appear on the right of the icon. Press the icon again and it will take you to a different screen where you'll have the option of changing the icon to some predetermined icons already there or as a picture of your choice. It will also give you the option to resize the icon.
If you liked this little built in tweak or have used it let us know your results.
