[Q] How to completely erase memory? - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

How do I completely erase EVERYTHING?
Somehow, not everything is being removed when I erase everything in settings. I am running CM 10.1 Nightlies and I have no memory to be able to copy another ROM over. I only have 700mb left. I have tried factory resetting in recovery and erase everything in settings.
Any and all help is appreciated, thank you.

Hello everybody,
I found the file that was taking 26GB, it is located on /dev/block and i can't seem to delete one of these files, how do i go about doing this?

Here's what I would do, flash the Rom you want (wipe data, caches, and system, then flash) then when your up and running format your sdcard and see if that fixes your problem.

How do I do USB OTG?

Purchase a usb OnTheGo around 3 dollars.
Save the ROM in a jump/usb drive.
Open recovery
Connect it to you phone
Select install from an external sdcard (CWM)
or
Select USB OTG - make sure it is selected (TWRP)
Install the ROM.

How? It´s first time i will install a ROM i have root and clockworkmod. And i need to wipe data factory reset. That will not erase everithing on the phone?. If i wipe data how i will install the ROM. Please just do a quick tutorial.
Thanx
Since you are rooted already, copy the ROM to your SD Card go into recovery mode and wipe data wipe partition go into advance mode wipe dalvik cache then come back select install from SD Card the install. You will only loose your apps but your files and media remains. Remember the first you flash it won't be successful cos of changes in partition but don't worry remove battery, go into recovery and flash again and you will be successful.

Its always recommended to do a backup of your apps before flashing a ROM. I prefer titanium backup

Here is a good tutorial on flashing:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1494493
ALWAYS make a backup, before flashing. Good luck!
Thx all. I will try this night. One more question i have a backup so if flash fails is a 100% that backup will restore the phone? Or the backup can fails? Sry bad english.

Do a backup in cwm recovery. If you want to you can restore the phone completly to it's iriginal state. Just remember to move the back up file to your pc, in case your internal card gets wiped

Yesterday when i try flash. I wiped data factory reset and cache but i have not put the zip on the internal memory. In recovery i put.mount usb but when i open a folder on the pc. Pc frezze and if i unmont usb pc works again. What i have to do to fix that? It will be hard if i put backup on pc and if delete my backup on phone. So im afraid on that step. Im not a noob user in pcs and smartphones but its first time i will do that. And the first time is harf.
Thx again all.

Factory reset only resets phone settings, it doesn't actually wipe the SD card clean of all files, so feel free to reboot into your current ROM and then transfer the Zip file, then reboot, wipe Cache, Dalvik Cache and Factory Reset
OR, try a different PC or different USB port to mount from within Clockworkmod. Mount USB should work OK.
Thx all. Now i free to test. Close thread please!

Flashed wrong ROM

Guys need serious help...
My 14 yr old nephew seing my Rooted & Modded phone tried doing it himself and instead of flashing rom for HTC One flashed Cyanogen Mod rom for HTC One X.
The phone can be booted into TWRP but am not able to push/sideload any zip file neither can I mount OTG
Could any one please help me on how to flash a suitable firmware and where to find it.
Have you tried adb push rom_rom.zip /sdcard?

Are you sure the proper HTC/adb drivers are loaded so that your computer actually recognizes the device when trying to sideload the ROM?

Have you tried flashing cwm?? I have never tried TWRP, but have always been using CWM Recovery. You could try that and see if your able to adb push update.zip to sdcard or use sideload.
Use the HTCOne all in one tool to flash CWM and then under mounts and storage you can mount the phone as usb for PC, copy a new Rom accross and flash it
Sent from my HTC One using XDA Premium HD app
I think i had this problem earlier, i only made progress once i'd formatted the storage, then used CWM sideload
If you know you have some Rom on your phone downloaded look for that and install it through your recovery. If not you can format everything and see if you can sideload after that. I had this problem the other day and an old trickdroid Rom I found on my phone after digging through files saved my as$!

Bad flash... need advice

Hey guys... first rom flash I did after rooting went bad. I got a failed message during the flash and now I'm stuck on the HTC boot screen. I'm wondering if the zip is bad, but my problem is how to get another rom into my internal storage since I can't boot up the device.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
*edit* Sideload mode in TWRP is not working. I can start it on the phone, but the adb commands never work.
Boot to bootloader and flash CWM then use ADB Sideload cmd. You didn't back up your ROM before flashing?

ADB sideload in TWRP is not working. Will it have a better chance of working in CWM?
*edit* loaded CWM as suggested, but sideloading is still not working. It's saying failed to open driver control, although I have installed the drivers and was using adb previously. Reinstalled drivers, but no good.
I'm also noticing that if I reboot from TWRP it is telling me my system does not appear to be rooted, although I previously checked the root in Titanium Backup. Maybe my root is not set up properly? Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Try ADB Push cmd to your Ones storage.

What ADB folder are you using on your PC. The one from google or the one from the broken "all in one" tool kit?

I'm using the one from BigDaddy's how-to-root thread. Is that one broken? I used that and followed the instructions in the two videos.
Where can I get the correct ADB materials, please?

Yeah, that was the first thing I tried, and it would have be awesome if it worked, but nothing happens when I click on the mount usb.

what rom did you flash to cause all this, first of all.
Even though I have installed custom recoveries and installed SU before the bad flash, it seems like there is something wrong with the root, and now I am not sure how to get it fixed.

when you plug your phone into your computer, look under my computer, is htc one there, if not, i don't know buddy.
another thing that might be messing you up is if you use a 3.0 usb port.

It's not there... that's why I was trying to sideload, but it won't work in either custom recovery.
When I reboot from TWRP it says I am not rooted and swipe to have root installed. Even though I have done this a few times it keeps telling me that I'm not rooted.

I had an older version but used my computer to flash 2.6.0.0, which didnt do anything. i then flashed CWM 6.0.3.3 (touch) using my computer merely out of frustration last night. Here is the process I used for flashing both imgs in case you were curious: shift + right click in the folder with CWM img, fastboot flash recovery "name_of_the_recovery.img," fastboot erase cache.
Once again, this didnt do a thing, I just keep getting the same error when i touch "choose zip from sdcard" ---> E: Can't mount /sdcard/
