Just looking to see if anyone else got this issue.
Tried live usb, live cd, and hdd install of ubuntu 32 bit 12.04.
Tried different roms and made sure fastboot was off, debugging check on and no lock code.
It will reboot to bootloader but the ADB part fails.
Any ideas?

I had the same problem and this worked for me, might not for you. My problem is caused by easy tether client installed on my laptop so when I plug in my phone I have to do this
1. Turn off development settings
2. Turn it back on
3. Check the use debugging box
4. Run adb from command prompt
My laptop runs windows 7 BTW
Sent from my HTCONE using Tapatalk 4 Beta
Also just so you know you have to run ADB as root or else you'll get a device not connected message

With the other method it does break hot reboot, I don't use it so it doesn't matter to me, also the method can be done right from terminal emulator, just follow the same command but instead of typing just revone you need to type revone.bin

My initial problem with device and moonshine was resolved by flashing stock rooted Rom, then everything worked fine. Completed and restored from backup. Think the issue with phone being seen and flashing was noted on the site somewhere that stock kernel was recommended or required.

I used the newest live cd 13 I think, the more stable and without all media crop version had bad wife drivers for me. I downloaded file, copied over only adb and fastboot to folder, though they would not see device, also don't think needed, then continued. Made sure debugging was turned on, also updated to latest. 35 supersu (don't think this had anything to do with it) only other difference would be computer hardware. It pissed me off for a while until I loaded vipers stock deodexed.
Good luck :sly:

I was getting the same ADP error. I talked to support on IRC, they said viper 1.1.0 is not supported for moonshine. Suggested doing RUU to go back to stock. In which case you would have to nandroid your rom, backup contents to computer. Relock phone, RUU, unlock phone again, moonshine, flash recovery, restore nandroid. I might wait till next release of viper rom to s-off.

So i have a rooted htc vivid and today my battery died today and now my phone will not boot up at all. I can plug in the charger and the charge light comes on for a few seconds and then goes off.. It did this once last night and came back on after pulling the battery. Died today and cant get it back on...help me out please someone..
We followed Slapshot30's Superguide by doing the following:
HTC Dev Unlock - confirmed
Followed step 2 but got an error trying to update recovery
Used the Supertool Method and confirmed root with Titanium Backup
Tried Flashing a couple different versions of CWM to no avail.
Now we are at the current situation, unable to even boot into hboot by pulling battery and using power/vol down method.
At a standstill now
Edit: Oh and I helped him root this phone. I've rooted both my OG Evo and my E3D.
Edit #2 - Got it to boot into hboot and now the phone is booting up normally. Anyone know why it would do that? Also, does anyone know where I can find a download for CWM that I can flash through the bootloader? When we try to go to the recovery now it just goes the the screen with the red exclamation.
Are you able to flash the PH39IMG from the superguide? It's really easy, just put that file on the internal or external memory and boot into hboot and the phone will automatically update to the newest recovery.
If that doesn't work you cab flash the recovery using the other guide in the superguide, the one involving flashimagegui app.

i figured it out im now in recovery...thanks for all the help..i now know more about the cmd prompt and all the fastboot stuff...
I'm an amateur ROM flasher and I usually get around a problem after a few hours of messing around with the device and forums but I am absolutely stumped by this one. After unsuccessfully trying to flash a few roms, I decided to restore my phone back to what it was because I backed it up only a few hours before. All it would load is a black screen with the status bar showing the time and no signal, sometimes allowing me to slide to unlock to my saved launcher with still a black background. Not only would it never get reception, it would reboot within two minutes. This cycled until the battery would die. I ended up deleting everything on the device itself in attempt to fix something, not thinking I would delete my back ups and then my ability to ever get my phone past bootloader or recovery. I can still do fastboot commands and change the recovery, but besides that, it's a brick. Any kind of help would mean the world, thanks!

It's not a brick until nothing lights up our charges. And since there is no sd slot, that's out. You have access to recovery, you're fine. Download a stable Rom and just like fastboot, do an adb push of the Rom like suggested above. Wipe data, caches, and format system before flashing. No worries. All its not lost.

Any of those adb commands results only with "error: device not found"
This may not be a fix for HTC phones, but on Samsung devices, I've had to uninstall and reinstall drivers several times. Do and uninstall, run a registry cleaner, reboot pc, reinstall drivers, reboot, and try adb again. I used to do that every so often with my Samsung devices that wouldn't be properly detected by my pc. It usually fixed my problem.

No offense meant, but that information really needs to be in the first post. It could have made things significantly easier. We also really need to know what ROMs you were trying, because the problems you'r edescribing vaguely sound like you've flashed a GSM ROM somewhere along the line by accident, in which case you will need to RUU (and most of the guides are unfortunately pretty Windows-centric).

No offense taken. Unfortunately, a Mac is all I'm able to use at the moment. I'm trying to run CleanRom from the sprint htc one development section of this site, so I'm fairly certain it should work. My main problem right now is that using adb commands my phone is not recognized. Using fastboot, though, works absolutely fine to do whatever I need and recognizes my device. I've tried using twrp and clockworkmod recovery touch to sideload any zip file and just won't work. All it says after trying that is "failed to open driver control: no such file or directory".
Please do tell me if any other information would help you help me faster. I don't frequent forums so I'd imagine I'm quite frustrating to work with.
Anybody have any idea?
while trying to get a recovery to work with no avail, i wiped cache and did a factory reset and now i am in a boot loop. wish i could remove the freaking battery. just got my phone today and the first thing i did was updated to sense 4.3. I then unlocked the bootloader successfully. I started having problems with flashing a recovery even though the bootloader said unlocked and tampered. twrp would not boot, but i got cwm to boot. the problem on cwm was i didnt have access to all the folders like the downloads folder that had the su zip. I did have avast already installed while i was trying to root(going to activate antitheft once rooted) i thought avast might be the problem so i uninstalled went back into recovery wiped cache and did a factory reset hoping cwm would access the folder i need nope. so i was calling it a night and booted up the phone and now it is STUCK. It was easier rooting my evo 3d with brick method. PLEASE HELP ASAP

If it helps I'm running windows 7 on my Mac using VMWare Fusion.

To get up and running.....
First download a Rom and recovery (TWRP)
From adb type fastboot flash recovery recoverynamehere.img
Boot into recovery
In TWRP go to Advanced > ADB Sideload
abd sideload romnamehere.zip
To get back to stock....

It gets to the end but shows install error 7 at the end, booted anyways, now just bootloops to eternity. No recovery is accessible only fastboot now.
Tried to install 3 recoveries through fastboot all passed but none bootup, factory resetted through fastboot, no go still. Not in anyway meant to steer people away from the ROM, others are reporting it is working fine for them. I can't and a few others it seems. Phones aren't done for, just temp out for the count.
Will clean up the thread and make things prettier but need to get to work, hopefully this gets some attention. Thanks for any help guys, I won't be able to trouble shoot for about 10 hours or more depending on work things.

I installed the latest cwm recovery before flashing all was fine. Any link to sideloading. Will try when I get home tonight, on a backup phone right now at work.

Also appears it is happening in the other 4.4 gpe rom. Reboots and such.

So I tried it.
Got a boot loop to where i keep rebooting at the set up menu. -.-
I can't push via ADB for some reason, it says my HTC isnt found when the last time I tried, i removed all data, then adb pushed but that was dangerous .

So you side loaded and got it working now? Good news. Weird why its happening to some and not all. Dis you uncheck volume to wake option as well by chance? I'm just going to run the ruu when I get home later. Just need to read on how its done lol.

Tried without the volume thingy, still doesnt work btw.
Ok, cool. Did you check your download for md5 match. I didn't as the download size was correct, lazy and dumb move.
