hi all
i want help please from the experts , i have some questions about the X1 ,
1- is there is any differences between the silver and the black color in the speed issues or any other difference ?
2- upgrading to wm6.5 with pure rom has any drawbacks like battery runs out so quick or makes the phone slower ?
3- is the sliding mechanism still stable after usage long time ?
4- the loud speaker volume is it loud enough ?
while i'm browsing the forums i found a lot of problems that the xperia's owners face , like cam stop working , the phone not boot , screen stop working , is this a reason of something like careless in usage or flashing the rom or any other reason ?
all of this reasons push the fair on me before i but the X1 , please experts i need help from you to reassure me b4 i buy it , especially the speed of the phone because has a lot of complains about the speed and response of the phone .
thank you waiting your soonest reply

1. There are no differences in speed in regards to color.
2. I haven't used the Pure Rom.
3. The sliding mechanism is the best I have ever seen, felt, and used.
4. The Loud Speaker Volume is not loud enough in public places of with the television on. Not suggested for music playback.
No, I have not faced these problems on my X1
Yes, the phone is extremely slow for a Windows Mobile device.
Also, there are more problems that you should be aware of. After a long span of use, the device will show cracks and lose it's paint. Second, the keyboard will lose it's sensitivity within 2 years (phones are suppose to maintain a functional keyboard forever).

Thirded. Ultimately the only major problem I haven't been able to solve either through Sony repair or tweaking is the sluggishness of the phone. I would say that I now have a phone that does nearly everything I want, but it's fairly slow. I also wish the camera and video recording were better, but they are better than what you might expect on a WM phone, I guess.
ps welcome back Orelsi. Where the hell you been???

I second that emotion. Although sometimes excessive I always appreciated the harsh smackdown orelsi would bring to the iPhone trolls that would come here (no offense to rational iPhone owners). It seems they have left us alone now. Perhaps they have gone to Leo forums?

Hello!
I'm gonna buy a new phone, but idk when. I think I'm gonna buy the LG O2X, though after reading all the problems with it, I'm not sure.
I have heard troubles like:
Shuts down and reboot randomly.
Shows wrong battery percent left.
WiFi stops to work when you turn it on after sleep.
I also heard about 2 people who had their LG out in the sun, when it was like 20-25 degrees and it started to reboot every 2 minute.
If the phone didn't have all these problems, I would definitely get it. But that's apparently not the case.
Damn, this is driving me crazy, I can't decide whether I should get it or not. Please help me.
All the things you've listed are software, the first CM7 nightly is currently building. That said I've not had mine's been mostly fine. No wifi issues, only had odd battery behavior when trying new kernels. Have had a couple of overnight reboots, but not for about 5 days.

I know that the problems I listed is problems with the SW, and can be solved. But the problem about their phone did reboots every 2 minute when they had it outside in the sun. Is the problem I most worry about, since it doesn't sounds like problems with the SW.
I'm not gonna change ROM or something. Since I don't wanna loose my warranty.
And LG doesn't seems to solve problems that quickly, correct me if I'm wrong.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=997705, I read a few pages there, so many seems to have trouble with it. So I really don't know what I should do.
Every 2 minutes? Weird lol. My o2x was right next to me while I was lying in the sun all the time during the easter holidays. No such probs here, actually none of the probs you mentioned. If you get one with constant freezing you can always get an exchange, you know

Any software changes you make can be reversed easily enough for warranty purposes.

Alright, that's good. But having to change ROM, to get a good working phone doesn't seems right.
How is the phone at browsing? I've heard that the text isn't best on O2X.

you can go stock and all is fine.- do not read all those reviews..about rebootings, lags..
I had stock for couple of days and it was very smooth, all fine, no lags, no reboots, then MoDaCo and even this was great.

Sounds like your friends' phones could have errant processes running in the background and the extra heat from the sun could have pushed the phones into instability.
Ask them to install "Watchdog Task Manager Lite" to monitor the processes running on their phones. If they can track down which app processes are the culprits, they should try to delete or modify the app settings to quieten down their errant behaviours. This should help with the "every 2 mins in sun reboot" issue.

I read about this problem in a forum. But thanks for the "Watchdog Task Manager Lite" tip, I guess it could be handy when I get a android phone. If it will be LG O2X, we'll see.
If you are a non-hacker type person, and just want to use the phone straight out of the box, it might be prudent to avoid most, if not all, of the dual-core phones for now. I think the designers and programmers are still trying to iron out the kinks with the new dual-core phones. IMHO, a fast single-core Android phone might probably be a more fuss-free phone straight out of the box than dual-cores currently.

Well, I don't change phone that often, so I wanna have future proof phone that isn't too expensive. And I believe this is that phone.
I'm pretty sure I can root it and change rom. But... I'm too afraid I might mess it up.
In forums like these you will mostly read about the issues that some are having, because people tend to seek out these forums when they disover isues - the wast majority may not have any issues and dont post in forums like these. So regardless of which device you get, you will allways find alot of forum posts dealing with whatever bugs some users are facing. The number of issues and error posts for the LG isnt really that big, nothing out of the ordinary, and nothing you wont see just as many or more for ANY other device out there - single core or dual core.
Basically dont get scared off by these but only use it as a guide to perhaps seek for specific bugs which you would not be able to live with untill they get fixed by the manufacturer.
I have 2 LG optimus - one for myself and one for my teenager son
Both bought on the same day 6 weeks ago.
Mine has run completely stable and "errorfree" since day one - not a single random shutdown or lockup bsod - no issues with wifi, 3g or anything - has worked with every single app I tried, no batterydrain (easily get 2 days worth) etc. etc.
They are running completely stock with the only change being a different laucher (GO launcher) to solve the micro stutter in swyping between homescreens which the standard LG launcher has (just a very minor software issue).
The only issues I have left are 2 known issues - which for certain will be solved by some new LG update. One is the lag that happens while installing a new app from market - the other is the memory management which isnt completely optimised causing free memory to sometimes run a litle lower than wanted.
If you arent unlucky and get hit by the random shutdowns and bsod that some users are facing - then you do get a very nice future proof phone that isnt too expensive, and does most things pretty good allready - and will only get better as updates arrives
Imho, rooting and new roms arent really needed, allthough a nice possibility for those that like to tinker and tuning their devices as much as possible - but even without doing so, you will get a nice phone.
I'm planning to get one too so I just started to visit O2X threads. Currently on Motorola Milestone, but I'm sick of it's low RAM. Every new game is force closing. I'll wait for it to get cheaper in my country .

You're probably right. I've read alot of threads. It's so weird, some have many problems with the phone and some have not. I really don't wanna have problems with reboots and wifi.
I'm still not sure if I should get it or not. I don't really see any other future proof alternatives in the same price range. The SGS2 is too expensive.
This is definitely not easy, maybe I should wait and see if they fix all problems. But IDK which phone I should get instead.

I've seen some reviews of SGS2 and it seems laggier than O2X. First I noticed that in Shrek Kart video (I've seen SGS2, than compared to O2X), after that it seemed that SGS2's launcher is laggy too -.-' ... maybe I just watched fake/bad reviews ^^.
Well i had phone for around 2 weeks and have not had any of the reboot issues as for batt draining if u ture of back ground data then this reduces it massivly, the handset is on of the best around. As for LG not doing update to solve problems i think that is unfair they do seem to be listerning with in a few days of me gettting hand set went from 10b to 10d. So i would say that if you want future proof device then this is the one and if you want game then its a no brainer

Alright. I think I'll get the O2X then. Though, I'm not gonna get it before they fixed these problems.
I read in a review that the OS takes about 300 mb ram.

So I have about 200 mb free for my apps. That doesn't sound much, but maybe it's enough? Well, this is going to be my first smartphone, so I don't really know how much RAM app takes.

No mine does it too its cause of the aluminum
Sent from my One using XDA Premium HD app
Yeah the aluminum body conducts a lot more heat. Its should be normal unless you're burning yourself.
My first HTC one did that and then the vibration function would go off by itself. I had to return the phone in exchange because it was vibrating all day long.

What Rom if any do you have installed? Kernel? Your question can not be answered because there are no specifics. If the phone does get hot all the time you may have a problem...warm is ok, but really hot sounds like your cpu is stuck at a high frequency.

Please don't use subjective terms like hot or warm.
Use GSam battery monitor or dialer > *#*#4636#*#* > Phone info to see the temperature of the phone.
This phone idles aro around 31 degrees Celsius. The hottest it should ever get (like ever) is around 47. Not sure how much that is in F.
In Airplane mode this thing gets stone cold: around 23 degrees.
This phone can def seem hot but the only way to tell if you have a real issue is if you give us numbers.

Bro, you should stop calling people sir. While I appreciate the formality, XDA is nothing close to formal.
And Lil Homie, you have no problems. After a long session of gaming, 45 degrees is normal. 39 degrees is A OK for 10 mins of usage, esp if on mobile data.

Until your phone actually shuts down on its own, there is nothing out of the ordinary. The phone supposedly has a mechanism that will shut down the phone when the heat is abnormal. This is according to HTC. Now what is considered "abnormal" is anyone's guess. I personally have heating issues and already swap phone twice with Sprint and both times I was left with another heating phone. If you go in the Sprint Zone App in the Help/dashboard, you will see under the Battery Status section, there are plenty of overheating alerts. But even then, HTC and Sprint claim there are no "issues" per se.
So bottom line is, either you learn to live with it, or you change for another phone. This may very well be an issue but if HTC won't admit to it, you're pretty much stuck.
Hi,
Yesterday I get my LG G Watch R! But I'm not happy with that...
I'm testing it and when I open Wear mini launcher the transition animation to open the launcher screen is not going fluid! Is like the watch have lag...
Somebody feel that in their smartwatch?
I will try to update video this night!

That is the normal operation in this moment.
Maybe future implementations will correct that.
In case you will use watchmaker for example, that lag is 3x longer ... it's like the time will freeze for a while .

I was talking with LG support and told me that is not normal! That a fail of watch so must be replaced!
sadly, it is normal - but hopefully not for long
you can try to switch to one of the Android Wear default faces (not the LG ones, try Simple)
there the delay should be virtually nonexistend
and have a look at this - its really bad on watchmaker, but i like the app so much that I'm putting up with it

But think about it, If I show a video about the problem to LG and they told me that is a hardware problem... and only saw a little number of users with that problem, I could think that the problem is hardware....
Then u mean that everybody have the last software version and only 4 users report that the lag is a known software? Something is wrong here....
I get this lag too with a custom whatchmaker whatchface.
I have finals all next week so I am very busy with that. I already know what file i need to change and how to change it. I went digging in the moto 360 forums and they have the commands there. I will get back to this after my exams.

About facemaker dont know (i use facer).

I guess this is the latest version for your device.
Is it running this hot from the first day of use or just after the update?
You could also make a repair via PC companion. See if it works. Don't forget to make a backup before that.
I do not own this device. I have a Z3C. From what I have just read, the software updates should, at least, make it less hotter.
Hope it helps.

Either change your habits and don't play games on it or get rid of this ****. OR keep a glass of ice water with you and dip XZ3+ in it to cool it down.

unfortunately some people said its not hot and..........heating is a problem and battery is something else....both are really bad,my phone keeps cool but when i play games it gets to 60 degree! anyway ty for your answering bro
6.01 here and having rev.5 (ie its from eu) and the phone get silly hot (recording, playing a game). Its a fault with this otherwise awsome phone.
I am on 305 with 3 of my Z3+ devices.... one from the UK and the others from Asia, and they all run completely cool now.
Sorry to hear you are having issues...which model and territory is it from?
My Japanese Z4 models, which are essentially the same phone, are running a little behind on the updates and running a bit warmer but still much better than before 6.0.

Tried it in summer. Internal cpu remperature remained same but feeling to hands was better since then heat was not concentrated at one place of body.
Overall I didn't see any change in performance. Well I live at Pakistan and room temperature in summer without air-conditioning gets upto 38 Celsius, internal cpu temperature got upto 75 Celsius..... Still better than Note 7 though.
