Ok so I did some searching and couldn't find anything on this so I desided to make a post on it. I purchased the Dev HTC One off the dev forums on HTC's website. I was curious should I flash the ATT version of cyanogen or the GSM version. I don't really know how this would matter unless it had something to do with a minor hardware difference but I don't know at all. I have an AT&T SIM card in it right now for service so I am leaning towards the ATT one but ATT is GSM and because I didn't actually purchase this from ATT and did purchase it from HTC Dev that makes me thing well maybe I should get the GSM because that is more universal. Or hell maybe it doesn't matter a bit..
Could someone please tell me what one I should be using.
Thank you!

Hello everyone, as you can see this is my first post on xda-developers.com. The Diamond will also be my very first WM device. I found a great deal on the Diamond ($450 US for the phone without a contract with the upgraded 1350 battery), however it's currently for a carrier outside of the U.S. I currently have Verizon wireless, and I was hoping to be able to use this phone on their network. This phone is the CDMA version by the way.
So my question is: Is it possible to unlock the phone and flash it with a different ROM in order to get it to work on the VZW network?
I apologize if this seems like a silly question or if the info is somewhere else, I looked around a bit but couldn't find the info to answer my question about this particular phone. Thanks for taking the time to read this and I hope to have an answer soon!
Sorry for the bump, but I need an answer to this quickly and my thread was pushed off the front page. Is it currently possible to take the CDMA version of the Touch Diamond and get it to work on the Verizon network?
It will be possible but I you will have to wait for the Verizon version to launch before you can port another carriers Diamond over to Verizon as you will need a Verizon ROM.
The Verizon one will be crappy though so you will still want a Sprint or other CDMA carrier's version.
You then unlock it and install a Verizon ROM on it and you should be set.
Thank you very much for the reply! So basically I could go ahead and purchase the phone and just use it for a PDA for a little while, and then sign it up with VZW when the VZW ROM gets released?
Ya well, like I told my friend who I'm going to do the same thing for, I would wait until the Verizon one is released just in case something weird happens and you can't port. Then you aren't out the money. Wait until someone else does it first.
Up to you if you wanna take the risk. $450 is a pretty good deal.
That's true, being out $450 doesn't sound like a very good idea to me... I suppose I'll wait until I find out for sure if this is even possible.
Nevermind
Jeff
I searched first and found no info so i figured i would ask. Does anyone know when verizon will be releasing there version of the diamond the only info i could find on google was saying october but as u can see i doubt that will happen. I also searched the verzion website and there ws no info there any help would be great.
I believe that Alltel, Sprint and Telus will be the only ones which I believe that the best plan is on Alltel for this type of phone anyway if your in an area that has an alltel carrier. Sweet phone by the way the best screen display out of any phone I have ever seen too.
Well i do know for sure that they are putting it out the question is when. The reason i ask is because instead of using the msm7200 like all the other diamonds they are using the msm7500. Which will mean that we will finally have opengl drivers for our vogues. You can check the specs right here.

I haven't been up to date on flashing and switching carriers in a few years, I used to do it all the time.
My girlfriend broke here phone (Verizon Contract) and needed a new phone, we got a good deal on a HTC One (m7) Model No: HTC PN072. And purchased it.
I thought it was still be the same old flash the radios call Verizon and keep asking for new people until I get someone who can offer to activate. Now I am looking for an unlock tool and all I can find is GSM SIM unlockers, and can't find the right Verizon Radios for this phone.
My girlfriend is pissed because now she doesn't have a phone and we just spent money on this new phone. Am I SOL? Or is there a thread somewhere that my googfu just can't find?

i tried to do this for a phone for mom. it doesnt matter what you do with the phone- verizon has white lists now. if they dont have the ESN in their system, they WILL NOT activate it. you have a sprint ESN, so you will never activate that on verizon no matter how many times you call them.
sucks, i know. I had to buy a verizon m7.
It can be done using a donor phone the same way you would fllash a phone to metropcs. you can find plenty of tutorials online just replace everything metro with sprint.
Any luck on this? I have a Sprint HTC One M8 that I wish to bring over to Verizon. I'm not new to changing ESNs and I understand the legal ramifications of using a service that is unpaid for, so that aside, I'm paying for the service. I had bought the phone intending to switch to Ting, but the IMEI is locked to Sprint for one year from release. I have until April when that gets unlocked, so I figured to use it without the SIM card, since that's what allows 4G LTE usage on CDMA phones, at least from what I am told by people and the phone (once I removed the SIM card it started giving me that message). Hell I'm ok disabling data altogether, but as long as I can make calls and text, I'm jolly.
You could flash them to pageplus although I think they only have 3g.
Pageplus has 4G albeit at a reduced speed but effective 1/15/2015 they will not accept flashed phones anymore

This is illegal and not appropriate conversation on XDA. It's out there though, although I've only seen people flashing phones from Verizon to Page Plus or Sprint to Virgin or Boost. Never seen Sprint to Verizon or vice versa.
I was under the impression that Sprint and Verizon use different signal frequencies, and that the radios installed by HTC during build were specific to the frequency. Yes, they are both CDMA, but different frequencies.
So I see there is a thread about unlocking your phone in these forums but that says its a GSM unlock. I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to unlocking phones but I know I want to use my sprint M8 on Verizon since I'm switching services.
So my question is, is there any way to unlock my phone to work on the Verizon network? Is that unlocking method make it work on Verizon or just ATT?
Sorry but I am extremely ignorant on the subject and am looking for some info, rather not rebuy my one.

Hi, extremely sorry that no one took the time to respond to this sooner. I believe there is 2 methods to do this, one being a SIM unlock and another being the GSM unlock you mentioned above. To my knowledge GSM unlock is what you want but sadly I don't think there is any 'free' way of doing this. I've never personally GSM unlocked one of my own phones but I have helped a friend do so. Anyways in order to GSM unlock a phone you need a special 'generated' (i think generated) code to input in your phone which will unlock it and allow it to use other carriers besides the one it was made for.
Here is a presumably valid tutorial on how to do this on an HTC One M8.
I would recommend trying freeunlocks.com first, only because I have a coupon from there which i'll gladly give you if you plan on using it. Only reason I have one and or am giving it away is because previously I bought one from there and they didn't have a code at the time so they refunded me and gave me a coupon code to enter if I ever purchased from them again which I most likely won't as I have no need for GSM unlocking, i.e why i'm giving it away. If by some chance freeunlocks does not work then you can try the one in the video or you can look for others.
If you would like to try this and want the coupon for freeunlocks.com then just say so in your response and I'll PM you it. I think its for either a discount or a free code, I don't really remember as this was quite a while ago when I was given it. (around a year)
Goodluck!
I'm just not sure if this would work because I'm trying to go from sprint to verizon, both being CDMA. If I did this would it mean I have to go to ATT?

I don't think so, according to this it should have all the proper bands to support both Sprint & Verizon. On the off hand there is always the chance that this link I just sent is ONLY for the International model and I am wrong which I very well could be. I've had trouble truly understanding if all versions of phones have support for the same bands or if they don't. I'd recommend researching this a bit or waiting until someone else comes along with the proper knowledge to assist you in your question on the radio bands comes along.
Anyways LS;DR, It should work but I may be wrong so do your own research or wait for someone else with the proper knowledge to assist you to come along.
OK so I have a HTC One M7 on Verizon, I recently Rooted, Unlocked the BootLoader, and S-Off'd the device. Now I'm wanting to transfer this phone to T-Mobile. I currently am using a MC11 Rom and feel pretty good with flashing and such. I have seen a couple different post some saying that a Verizon M7 will work on T-Mobile, others saying that the radio is different and others saying that you won't get 4G LTE. Can anyone help me out and give me some solid answers? I really don't wanna brick my phone and I definitely want 4G LTE. I'm sort of confused on what RUU to get and also is there a way to see the specs such as radio info and such to make sure everything is compatible? If anybody could help me out i'd really appreciate it.
