Hello everyone,
I haven't run into this issue with my prior HTC One, but this one is giving me issues and I cannot find a solution. Hopefully someone can help out... I tried using the S-OFF revone method. It wasn't working, even though it said successful, my bootloader still said S-ON. So, giving up and going to moonshine's method I go to unlock my bootloader on this phone following the directions on HTC Dev's site to a tee, and the device still shows **** LOCKED ****. I attempted this process twice to no avail. I am not sure where to go from here.
When attempting the process a second time, I even downloaded a new Unlock_code.bin thinking the file could have been corrupted. I also ran command prompt as administrator.
The entire process appears to work, phone prompts to unlock, I press volume up to select "Yes unlock bootloader (may void warranty)" Press power to confirm, device is wiped and I am brought to the initial setup screen. Reboot the device and it still says **** LOCKED *****.
Exact same issue here.

Did you try revone before unlocking your bootloader? I wonder if something with revone corrupted something on our phones... I sure hope not...
Just as an added post:
I have tried clearing cache via fasboot erase cache, as well as doing a full factory reset, same issue.
I sure did try to get S-OFF unsuccessfully and then tried to unlock via HTC-Dev unsuccessfully. I'll be returning the handset to the store if this cannot be resolved, hehe.
I see you are also Aussie is your M7 an unbranded 64gb model by any chance?

I am not Aussie =p American here. Unfortunately my return policy has ran up and I have to deal with HTC directly. This should be loads of fun.

Haha, sorry about that, should've looked at your sig. I am going to get a replacement right now, gonna use the old gaps and power button displacement excuse.

Good luck with the new one! =) I am just going to sit here and keep running the revone software, as I have nothing else to lose at this point and hope I get a pass. I figure if I can get it to pass and succeed at S-OFF, maybe it will uncorrupt whatever happened.

Wanted to post a reply... After 4 hours of trying, I finally got it to work. S-OFF and unlocked bootloader! =D
Steps I took:
1.) adb push revone /data/local/tmp
2.) adb shell
3.) cd /data/local/tmp
4.) chmod 755 revone
5.) ./revone -P
At this point I kept getting all sorts of failures. It kept spamming about "Unable to map memory." I stayed within the SAME adb console, pressed the UP arrow to repeat the last command, and just kept repeating this process. Sometimes it would crash and just reboot the phone, sometimes it would give an error message saying I needed to reboot the phone.
I had to have repeated step 5, at least, without exaggerating, 40-50 times maybe even more. Finally, it said Success, Reboot phone to continue. I then followed the following:
6.) Rebooted phone.
7.) Closed my command prompt and opened a new prompt once phone was rebooted.
8.) adb shell
9.) cd /data/local/tmp
10.) ./revone -s 0 -u
It reported a success instantly. I pressed the power button on my phone and pressed restart. I held volume down and low and behold I was finally granted the S-OFF and Unlocked status!!!!! I'm ecstatic!
That's deadly bro well done for persisting, I already got a replacement too so looks like both of us are winners, I'll try your mothod but not before HTC Dev unlock.
Regards
EDIT: New unit will not except unlock code either and this is before trying s-off, very strange I shall contact HTC and find out what is going on.
Wow... I thought it was revone, as I don't usually believe in coincidence. Lol. Seems HTC has some sort of issue, maybe generating corrupted Unlock_code.bin files... Good luck when you contact them!

So I have a fully stock HTC One and have spent all night trying to unlock the bootloader. Nothing seems to work I have never rooted this phone, everything I have read makes it seem as if it's impossible. I've tried the adb/fastboot, htcdev, and changing CID methods. Plus I have read of various other ways that already require a root. Which I cannot do seeing how I am still locked and S-ON.
To be honest I'm at the edge and I think I'm just going to give up. I'm on 4.2.2 - hboot 1.54. I was a previous owner of the Thunderbolt which was not a bad phone, I rooted that and everything no questions asked. Although I do remember HTC taking the longest for OTA updates, not a huge fan of HTC.
If anyone has any suggestions on how to unlock the bootloader I will be fine from there. I'm positive I have all the right equipment and prerequisites just not sure if I really am at the end of the road.
Anything useful goes a long way right now.
Thanks.....

Is urs the AT&T One? Then the bootloader unlock process is different. If urs is the standard international SIM unlocked, then ideally you should see a splash after you run the bootloader unlock command, which prompts you to unlock the bootloader. Please state what exactly ur issue is when u try to bootloader unlock
I'm with Verizon but it just gives me a 1 line error message doesn't run through anything else or load up anything. I type in "bootloader oem unlock" or whatever after clearly identifying my device is connected with "adb device" and nothing happens. It takes about 0.14 sec and says something along the lines of "[ERRORR] ......" after running again it takes 0.00 sec and says same thing, I can screenshot if you think it would be more helpful.
Please help, I appreciate both responses. Just really want this to work.

Hahahaha Verizon is REALLY REALLY BAD when it comes to dev. support. Ideally, you shouldn't be posting this in this forum. Post it on the Verizon forum. But, I can help you.

Download the package. Extract the zip and run the 'soju.exe' program. Please read ALL the pre-requisites mentioned in the instructions tab.
P.S. From next time if you're asking for help, please state that you're on Verizon

Worked like a charm, but now I am having trouble with the recovery portion of all this.
I have downloaded and installed the TWRP Manager app and then went to install the recovery and it said my device is not supported, this same problem happened with CWMR.

Hi, I'd like to understand what's causing my current problems on my Sprint HTC One.
To make things clear I'm a noob.
Thing is i live in Trinidad and our carriers(Bmobile & Digicel) are both GSM, so i bought a Sprint HTC One android version 4.3 hboot 1.55.
I followed the procedures to Sim Unlock.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2586704
I'm not entirely sure which step i used but it was either step 1 of step 2 that I used before using step 3. Keep in mind that I never downgraded the rom yet but went ahead with the first 2 steps anyway.(Not sure if it cause the problem)
When I make a phone call it lasts around 30 - 50 secs
Then I get a No Sim card sim error, I believe.(It flashes very quickly)
I lose signal and when i get it back i get the SuperSU root access prompt.
"Phone(1001)"
"com.android.phone"
When I grant or deny it, I get.
"chmod 666 /sys/subsystem_restart_properties/subsystem_restart_reason_nonblock"
I've followed the post from xerxes1987 on this guide with hopes to fix the dropping issue but it didn't work, i'm not 100% sure I did the correct thing though.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2647305
I'm currently S-on hboot 1.56
Running the stock rom Sprint_HTC_One_m7wls_4.06.651.4_RUU with equivalent firmware.
Can any one help, its a pain not being able to hold a conversation.
I haven't made a nandroid backup i only heard about it after doing the sim unlock. Yes, a noob i am.
Would gladly make a donation for a proper fix.
Desperation is kicking in.
Looks like it is a kind of way to check if your device is rooted or not.
Try "chmod 644 /sys/subsystem_restart_properties/subsystem_restart_reason_nonblock"
I bought a hTC 801e recently, and I rooted it few days ago. After I rooted it, the Phone app began to ask for the root clearance. I denied it because I thought it was quite weird, why the Phone app needs root? Then I searched about that file and I saw lots of people said when they give the Phone app root clearance, they all got a "no signal" error.
Sorry for my bad English, and hope that command will help.
Question/issues solved - thread done!
Picture of M7 screen with information: http://imgur.com/a/l6hIg
Basically, last year I traded this phone for my current phone at the time with a T-Mobile employee.
Got home and reset everything, setup everything to my liking, etc.
I then tried to go through the rooting process and all that but it didn't work (sadly, this was a while ago and I don't remember the exact issue...).
I tried everything I could but nothing worked and so I gave up since the phone was working fine other than it not being 'rootable'.
Fast forward to a couple days ago and I found a great deal on the M8 and have been using it to make sure it is everything the seller said it would be.
Then my friend said he wants to buy my M7 and I said sure but I need some time to backup my stuff and clear/reset the phone.
So the real details/interesting part of the situation is this:
Between when I got the M7 and a couple days ago the performance of the M7 has degraded and by this I mean that I have to restart the phone to get mobile data working (even though the symbol shows 4g/LTE), some apps have randomly crashed (namely Maps but it seems updates have fixed that). When I did try to root and all that, I installed TitaniumBackUp Pro and Root Explorer (here comes the interesting part) - sometimes TPUP has root access and sometimes it doesn't have root access; however, Root Explorer has always worked for what I needed (looking for downloaded files).
So is it possible to somehow properly root the phone and then unroot to make sure everything is good to go for my friend or do I need to just unroot the phone? Or do I simply need to do a factory reset (I am fine with this since I have all my contacts on the M8 already)? I haven't touched any software/rooting stuff since my 1 and only attempt to root the phone.
Sorry for the wall of text and I did try searching for similar posts/threads but couldn't (maybe I searched the wrong words?) and please feel free to ask questions for clarification and I will do my best to respond ASAP! Thank you in advance for your help.

Thanks for the quick reply. I will gladly just reset to stock if that's the easiest/best method.
I currently don't have ADB setup on either computer since I haven't been in the rooting game for a long while now.
As of now I'm on my MacBook Pro 13" with Retina display and Mac OSX 10.9.4 and internet connection.
My home Windows desktop currently doesn't have internet due to some issues at home...
So I'm guessing the first thing is to setup ADB on the Mac (if possible?), though I haven't done it before on a Mac.
Thanks.

So you have probably unlocked the bootloader in your attempt to root the phone. When you unlock the bootloader, it wipe users data but it also wipe some preloaded app by HTC in /data/preload. Problem is your friend will not be able to install ota updates with those missing files.
Good news is that there is a ruu for your phone version you could use to reset the phone back to stock and it will also wipe all your personal data at the same time, like if the phone was new (no need to factory reset). The ruu is a .exe file so you'll need a windows computer and because of the hboot version on the phone (1.44) you can't use windows 8.1 to flash the ruu, you'll need windows 7. Because your phone is S-ON, you'll also need to relock the bootloader before flashing the RUU. After flashing it, the phone will be wiped from any user data and ready to take ota updates.
so
relock bootloader:
Code:
fastboot oem relock
download the 1.27.531.11 ruu.exe from here
with the phone booted in bootloader mode or booted in the OS and connected to the windows 7 pc, lauch the ruu.exe and follow simple instructions so the ruu.exe will flash the phone automatically.
sell the phone to your friend

So I tried the bootlock command but then got the following error/problem (see screen shot).
I was either in the wrong mode or did stuff in the wrong order...
What I did:
1) open Terminal app
2) move to the adb/fastboot folder on Mac
3) type in the fastboot oem relock command
4) then received the attached screen shot error/problem.
I have a feeling the problem is going to be a bit tougher to solve than anticipated...
EDIT:
I have managed to screw up my device by doing factory reset and getting rid of the OS
EDIT 2:
I have managed to solve the above issue of no OS by getting CM 10 installed and working.
Now I need to get things back to stock to sell to my friend.
Thanks!

Question:
Do I need to have HTC Sync Manager and/or USB drivers installed on the Windows 7 computer for the above process to work?

Yeah, the drivers installed just fine.
However, I actually just showed my friend the phone with CM10 on it and told him the pros/cons and he was just fine with everything since he just wanted a phone that would work and not freeze/lag like his current phone does.

So gentleman its about time i asked for help. I am not a dev but very android savvy, have rooted, recovered, de-bricked 100+ devices and only two hard bricks so far.
So here goes. i got a m8 hk edition brand new, proceeded with custom recovery, unlocked boot-loader, firewater s-off blah blah and next i try to sim unlock. while in programming screen i looked away and my baby boy hit a the screen and chose an unknown option, my phone rebooted, upon boot I was greeted by a phone lock screen please enter password. I never set one. I cannot call but only 911 sometimes can *2 but only for a second. cannot reset after 10 attempts, lock is persistent after flash of new rom and now i really messed up s back on and relocked bootloader. i can unlock bootloader again but since flashed new rom and reset device adb isnt on. have tried everything google got and searched for almost a year to no avail for a solution. PLEASE HELP. I AM NO NOOB. also have tryed the encryption bug fix too and nothing.....REWARD......

If you changed your CID then you're S-off and there is no need to relock your bootloader. You may need to change your CID back to stock (SPCS_004 in your case) if you continue to get errors while trying to run the RUU, however, I don't believe that will be necessary.
If you're wanting to go back totally stock & S-on, locked bootloader and all, check out the guide in the link below.

Ruu's flash successfully but device still boots locked. I was s off but returned device back to s on at some point. I can still re-lock and unlock bootloader, but i cannot return to s off because the Device has yet to enable ADB . Since every flash clears all settings after boot the developer settings are not even enabled because im locked out at first boot EVERY time I factory reset or flash a new Rom or ruu.
Please tell me something I havent tried yet. Something im missing? Im thinking about offering a reward to anyone who can help me solve this problem.
In the picture is something I haven't been able to find on than any other Harman Kardon m8. What password? Could it have possibly been a password set with my root anti-theft app AVAST?

I have a Nexus 6 and I was trying to update the OTA developer preview from google that I signed up to test.
Problem is that I ended up on a bootloop. I am able to get into Fastboot but I am unable to make any commands work since the device is locked. All commands end with a Failed (command write failed error).
I am able to go into recovery to access ADB but that is also not very useful because it seems i am unable to push anything to the phone. The only thing which seems to want to work is when I try and load an OTA image.
This loads until 100% and I get an error which says the image I have is to new and it requires a specic image.
I am currently on 6.0.1/MMB29V/2554798.
I have tried factory reset but no help there.
Also when I try select update from SD Card it says it Couldnt mount/sdcard.... Unknow volume for path
Any help?

Tried it and it seems I have no other option but to return.

your n6 is bricked and you could try all the options from XDA.
There is a thread about the Nexus Root Toolkit of Wugfresh. This kit runs on a Windows PC and has a menu with option for bricked phones.
When you can start in recovery mode (long press start button + volume down) you could give it a try. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2947452
When there is no result, you could send it to Amazon for repair. But check the costs.
The total costs of mail, assurance and repair are probably more than $ 100,=.
I have seen some posts that the of a new N6 is every month lower.

I was going to suggest this too. The link posted leads to this link that has instructions on installing.
