Screen grid size - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Correct me if I am wrong, but I cannot seem to find a way to change the home screen grid size. Is there a way to do it on this phone using ARHD? Would love to squeeze out a bit more real estate.

Haven't seen a way to change it. I think there was a mod in the themes and apps section that did this though. Might have to dig a bit for it though.

I wonder..

So I assume everyone has seen the HTC commercials. This is what I want to know,is there a wallpaper that could change to look like a completely different one? For example when the guy on HTCs commercial scrolls to another screen the wallpaper changes, could we create a wallpaper that does this?

There is some overlap in the part of wallpaper used in adjacent home screens. Because of this, I don't think it's possible. Just my intuition, I could be wrong.
Yeah that's what I was thinking, doesn't hurt to always ask you know..

Am I the only one who likes the stock UI?

Seriously, I'm in love with it. I had originally planned to go to a tablet ui but it just doesn't feel right. At least on a 7in it doesn't.
- there's already enough room on home screens
- rather pull down notifications than tap from bottom
- don't like combined bar.
Anyone else feel this way or am I just wierd?

I don't mind it. This is the first android device I don't feel the need to mess with much.

Doesn't bother me at all. Its nice not having to look at a sense ui all the time

I love it. I did install Force Rotation from the Play store and it works perfectly, it just allows landscape mode and it looks like it was built in.
Really needs stock landscape mode.
I kept the stock ui after switching to tablet reason being I disabled the on screen buttons and hide the notification bar on my homescreen. Makes full use of the screen real estate.

can you link to this 'force rotation' app
thanks!
I like stock UI on this very much.. which is why i'm holding off on installing trusty ol' Nova launcher. i just dont have the need yet. (no landscape home screen doesnt bother me too much at this point)
tried the 160 dpi switch, but didn't care for the empty space at the bottom of the screen . seemed a little wasteful.. so switched back to stock 231dpi
I like it, especially now that the team eos ROM has support for toggles in the pull down notification bar. I also like that the home, back, and recent apps buttons are centered.

I don't really see any problems so far. Haven't had mine for more than 24 hours. But I'm looking for defects before I do anything major like rooting and installing custom Roms

This worked for me for lanscape mode in the stock unrooted launcher: Ultimate Rotation Control (can't post outside links yet)

I'm loving the stock ui! I'm also loving the fact you can install tablet AND phone apps. I've bought SwiftKey for the phone but not the tablet and I'm using the phone version on my Nexus right now and it's working great!

Your not alone, I love the stock JB interface.
I have custom launchers on my other devices, but am really liking the way JB looks and feels on the Nexus.
I'm with ya man. I'm loving this thing. If my prime was this smooth and stable I would be keeping it lol.

I love the stock UI and tablet UI would look stupid in such a small tablet. Also why not try something new instead of living in past. The portrait home screen do not bother me and I try to keep using it in portrait mode as much as I can because the tablet is so manageable in one hand in portrait mode. The notification drop down and everything is good with the UI however I don't like the look of app drawer just like other android tablets. They should come up with something nice. I don't use app drawer on my device and I keep apps that I use everyday in folders on one of my home screen.

The stock UI is great, and mostly bloat free. I don't feel the need to customize at all.

I have no complaints with it, and see no reason to look for an alternate launcher. This is my first Android tablet though, so haven't really seen what other launchers/roms have to offer.
So far I like it. I'm running CM9 on my phone and I like the AOSP look a lot.
I've only had mine for a day but so far I can't see any reason to change from stock.

No App-to-Home Transition

I find it strange that HTC seems to have removed any form of animation when in an app and hitting the home button while using the Sense launcher. It seems... Odd, I guess. I suppose it's quicker than watching an animation, but it almost reminds me of using Windows with animations turned off. I know other launchers (such as Nova) allow the user to change this, but I actually like Sense 5 (and was bugged by the way the lockscreen uses the Sense dock, and Nova doesn't change that).
Any thoughts on this?

HTC has always removed these animations. On all the versions of Sense. This is probably the mentality of the "professional" aspect of Sense. I know many people who disable animations on their phones because they fell that's ridiculous or "cheap" to have too animations like that...

Interesting. This is my first HTC phone as well. Given the history of Sense, I'm somewhat surprised HTC would do such a thing. Not that I'm complaining...

Yep. The better thing they could do would be to set up as our preferences... Like in Nova / Apex

Transparent dock

Anyone know of a mod that will make the dock transparent like the widget mod?
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
I think I give up asking questions here. Lol
82 views and nothing. Hmm.

A different launcher would do the trick. Only suggestion I can offer at the moment.
Kind of a shame to lose some of the Sense features though.
I tried using Nova Prime today and, even though I really like it, I ended up back with Sense. I used it all the time on my One X. I love hiding the dock and changing other things, but it just isn't miles better than Sense anymore.
Anyway, maybe you might like it. It'll give you a good number of ways to customize the dock.

You can use vrtheme with a zip for change the png of the dock in sense.
However, for trickdroid this mod excits!
I found a mod in the Themes & Apps section. I saw it before but I didn't know the dock was considered the "nav bar". There were no screenshots. I decided to just try it and it made the dock transparent.

Question about LCD density

I noticed that when I edited the LCD density to be 360 it works great however I noticed that the search bar in the dialer moved to the top if the screen rather than staying in its home on the bottom of the screen. Any way to fix that?
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 4
Just a quick update. I was able to fix this issue by using a density of 400. Not quiet so small but big enough that the launcher no longer dies this.
