Hi,
sorry if this has been posted elsewhere but couldn't find it.
with the announcement that the HTC One will be available with Stock Android.
I have a standard unlocked HTC One with HTC's rom (UK/GB version).
I would really like to replace with stock android to reduce the bloat.
I wondered if:
1. it was possible to update the firmware to the newly released stock Android
2. if anyone can point me to where a ROM would be
I am after strictly the released stock (and future updates) and not a modded version
many thanks in advance
With S-off anything is possible. If Google stock hardware is the same and just CID differences then it won't be too much work for us to flash to Google stock Rom.

Hello Everyone, I rooted my HTC Incredible S so that I can install a Vanilla Android Rom, but it looks like the only Rom that I found that claimed to be "No-sense" wasn't a true vanilla rom. That being said I am trying to flash back to the stock rom, but when looking at the list of official roms I was immediately lost as to which one is correct for my device. I have the HTC Incredible S S710E, but since I purchased it second hand I am not quite sure what provider it was sold under? Any assistance on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Hope all is well.

Try this one. It is the non-branded HTC Sense GB rom:

Hey guys newb here, Ive recently bought the HTC Inc S on the australian optus network, the thing is it came with so much crap that I dont even need,
I wanted to flash CM7.1 onto my phone but Im unable to get S-OFF due to my HBOOT being 1.16 and theres no support for it on the rev website, so is there any way for me to either get rid of all this bloatware that came with my phone or am i able to re-flash android 2.3.3 or a newer version of android available for the htc inc s that comes without all that bloatware.
This is my first HTC phone and kinda already regretting getting it, its a great phone just wish i got one with a earlier hboot version
I'm in the exact same situation, but still hesitating to go through the HTC Dev unlocking process, that apparently worked for a few guys:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1301475&page=4
Also, the Optus Stock Rom works very well, no bugs or issues...The whole bloatware is very annoying, but I learned to live with it.
The thing is, you never know what type of issues you get by flashing a custom Rom... So that's another down side.
I'm not wanting to flash a custom Rom just want to flash Android 2.3.5 or 2.3.7 with out all the bloatware I thought it would be possible considering its not a custom rom is this possible? Also what's the difference between froyo, gingerbread and honeycombe I always see that popping up in the forums

Well, there are no "Clean" Roms out there...Except some Custom Roms like CM7, all stock Roms have some degree of bloatware.
Eclair is Android 2.1
Froyo is Android 2.2
Gingerbread is Android 2.3
Honeycomb is Android 3.0 (this version is designed for Tablets only)
Ice Cream Sandwich will be Android 4.0 (to be released on mid November this year and will be the first unified Android platform - both for phones and tablets)
Oh ok cheers thankyou, is there a link for a gingerbread download 2.3.7? Just want a fresh flash with less bloatware

As long as you can get root access even if temporary you can uninstall bloatware via titanium backup.

yes i assume you have s-on ...so try superoneclick for a temp root (which will get unrooted once u restart the device) and remove the bloatwares from titanium backup.

HI, if you really want to flash CM7 to your phone and you have HBOOT 1.16 out there, I suggest you to downgrade your HBOOT to 1.13 by using goldcard, which I did to my phone incredible S and work out successfully. then you can do the S-OFF by AlphaRev, after that get your phone rooted which I think you can find in other thread as well if u successfully downgrade HBOOT to 1.13..
I got the source from a chinese forum (downgrade to HBOOT 1.13) so I think there is a guide for that in english as well but i didn't search for it..
hope this help..
Hello,
I just bought an HTC One in Germany (Vodadone) to use in Brazil and it is working just fine. But since it is a Vodafone version it takes longer to get Android updates releases. I was wondering if it is possible to flash the Developer Edition image, which is carrier free, on my phone and stay true to the original HTC build.
I know that there is the dev build available for download on htcdev.com. Has anyone tested it? Is there any tutorial here on how to do that?
Thanks in advance.

You can flash the US Dev Ed from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2265820
in case you didn't already know, must be bootloader unlocked, rooted, and have custom recovery.
If you mean an RUU you will have to wait for s-off and supercid

Hey all!
I'm a new poster to the forums, but I've been lurking since 2010 with my Xperia X10 (rooted) as my first phone, moving onto the Acer Liquid MT (rooted, was a pain to do so however) and then to the HTC One.
I recently rooted my One. The issue I have at this moment however, is that now that the OTA for 4.3 including Sense 5 is available, I cannot install it, due to the rooted and unlocked BL on the phone. I do know how to relock the BL using fastboot, but I cannot find the appropriate RUU for the Rogers 4.1 ROM.
There are a few things I'm going to be asking for here, just out of curiousity.
First, does anyone have the Rogers RUU for the HTC One? I went onto the dev site, and unfortunately, there is no RUU file found
However, I did find the CRCs for both Rogers versions.
Secondly, lets say I just flash an International ROM onto my Canadian device, will I still be able to use the carrier I am with (Rogers).
Thirdly, if anyone knows of a Google Play Edition ROM for the One that has functional Zoe features, that'd probably solve all of my current minute post-rooting woes.
Much thanks!

This should be posted in Q&A since this is a question. Not the general section..

I have the T-Mobile US edition of HTC One. Currently I have firmware 3.09.401.1 installed on my device. I know that is a WWE firmware and it compatible with the T-Mobile model. I was wondering would I be able to install the 3.22.1540.1 firmware, as it is for the Dev Edition. Would it be compatible with my device?
Thanks in advance for any information on this.
You need to be S-Off, it should work, but your firmware is already new enough. Do you have any specific problems?
I don't have any problems with the current one at all. Are there any improvements in the newer one?
I have the new version, had the 3.09.401.1. No changes except new hboot which has the developer edition warning on it when it boots up
