[Q] Beats + BT Speaker = Work? - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Do Beats from the ONE go on to BT speakers? I know it works with headphones and speakers, but those are wired. Just wondering if they go to wireless before i get a speaker.
Thanks!

It works with my Bluetooth car stereo aux in unit... It is aptX compliant I don't know if it makes a difference as far as beats goes though.

I've got a gear 4 BT speaker and beats works through that, although without using poweramp to alter the EQ it sounds a little muddy.

I'd check out the Klipsch Image S4 or Image S4i (the only difference is the S4i has phone controls). I haven't used them myself yet but they're great from everything I've read and Klipsch makes fantastic products.
Thanks mate, will check them out.

No problem. Also, in case you're not using it yet I'd jump over to one of the kernels that include the VooDoo sound drivers. They make a world of difference in listening to music on the phone (there is a link to Netarchy's kernel in my sig)
Using that already..
I have a rooted standard NS (2.3.2, GRH78C) with Netarchys awesome kernel.
I had to go back to 1.1 because 1.2 was crashing the phone at every boot.
Sound is superb even through the packaged headphones.

You'll notice a huge difference with better ones, trust me. I tested the sound improvements through the stock headphones as well as a few of my high end pairs and there is a monumental difference.
First track I listened to was The Dandy Warhols - Nietzsche.... blew me away.. thanks again
might seem crazy, but i bought the bose MIE2 mobile phone headset, and the sound quality is friggin superb. the inline button works for pause/play/ff for all the apps music player, google listen, etc. and they are so comfortable. totally worth it, but costs 130 dollars. best thing i did for my phone though
Am I the only person who cant hear any difference with or without the voodoo audio tweaks? I use Sony MDR EX 300 headphones and have done for a while.... (they are awesome imo)

I've never been a fan of the sound reproduction of Sony headphones.
Here is a quote from a review of those headphones
The sound has all the traits of Sony in-ear earphones. It's no secret that average-quality dynamic transducers with an ill-designed resonance cavity don't make for mind-blowing performances.
The lack of balance is highly audible, with mediums and high frequencies that are well defined but a bass that's too strong and not very well contained. The overall definition suffers as a result and makes the sound feel a bit invasive.
Thankfully, they're much better than the kind of headphones typically supplied with portable music players, and this model is fine for anyone looking for a decent starter pair of in-ear headphones.
So long as you can find them sold at a decent price (the RRP is way too high) these headphones are a great model for anyone who wants to try out a pair of in-ear headphones. Look past the low-end packaging and a sound quality that could still be better, and these headphones have everything you need to get started.

Is there anyone using the Klipsch S4i with SNS? I'd like to know if all the play / pause / volume buttons work?

Interesting quote. Thanks. But I like them, so each to their own I suppose.
Still, I can't hear the difference when using the Voodoo audio tweaks and I seem to be alone in that.

I haven't used those specifically, but I have used a pair of Etymotic HF3s and a pair of iBeats or something like that (my wife's). Both have controls and only the controls on the Etymotic ones worked.

I apologize, I hope you didn't take my post as an attack on your headphones, I was merely trying to inform as to a possible reason why the difference is not readily apparent. I can confirm that there is a difference and that the quality of the headphones being used does effect it (I've tested 4 pairs of headphones both with and without the tweak).

No, its cool. I spent £30 on headphones - they are not going to be as good as a £100 pair! At the price at least, I stand by em! I will try it with my Sennheiser PXC-300's tomorrow and see if I can hear it.

I just picked up a pair of audio technica ath-m50 headphones from eBay for $125. They are arguably the best headphones you can get for the money.

I would not suggest buying headphones from eBay because of how many fakes there are.

[Q] Using the ibeats by Dr. Dre?

Hi, I'm looking to buy the ibeats for my nexus s but on the box it says they're made for iphone/ipad/ipod. Does anyone know if the controltalk that are on the headphones work with the nexus s?

If your ROM supports it you will have control over start/stop, advance/reset track. The volume is not functional, Android unfortunately does not support that feature. In my opinion you can get better earbuds, I had a pair and they sound is OK, but they are clunky.

I have a pair of solo hds and the control talk works on both stock and sense roms. The volume controls don't work, but the pause/play and double tap to skip works. Recently though the mic on them haven't picked up any sound, so calls are a no go (though I suspect that it's my cable).
If you don't mind me asking though, why would you choose ibeats over tour? I haven't tried either, but looking at the cable, the tour would last much longer. Unlike the over ears, the cable on the ibeats is standard fare, and that's what always go first on my headphones. That's just my opinion though.
same here... play/pause works with music and pandora.
no volume controls.... they sound good after you tweak them with dsp manager.
Go with jays four instead of beats, equal soundquality for half the price. Same flat cables.

Buy anything but Beats by Dre. They are probably the worst value in the headphone market. Better off to go with Sennheiser or something.

(|--|) Info. Collection for Headphones.

For collection of list of variety of Headsets that are fully compatible with Defy/+.
As we know we have variety of Roms and highly customized music players and equalizers available.. I don't think we would ever need any dedicated Music Player for our needs.. What we need is just a Quality Headsets.
If in your experience you have ever used/tested any other OEM Headset in the past, which are fully compatible or not compatible for Defy/+.. Post it with a review so that other can have information for a better selection..

I guess all earphones/headphones having a 3.5mm jack, WITHOUT A MIC, are fully compatible with Defy/Defy+.

I changed the same in OP, i guess all the headphones without Mic or buttons would work perfectly well.. but the real deal is in choosing Headset i.e. which come with Mic and extra buttons..
I m using SE mw600... nice clear bass, amazing sound quality
I tested a Soundmagic MP21, and it DOES NOT work. The output sound is messed up.
i am using meelec m9p... works great...
Does anyone tried beats by Dre solo on defy??

HTC RC-E160 worked but the Skip track buttons are not recognized All three buttons act as one single button i.e. just play and pause.. Sound quality is average i mean Default Moto produces better sound than RC-E160.
I just use Koss Porta Pros. They're the best headphones out there (unless you need some serious fancy ****) and I use the mic on the phone
!JBL Tempo works well .. Good sound quality as well . Have used Sennheiser CX180 too which was nice too

JVC HA-FX1X. Good performance, sound intermediate.Cheaps.
I'm using MEElectronics CC-51P, and works perfectly with Defy, mic works very well and the sound is awesome.
Logitech Ultimate Ears 400vm - sounds and works well with Defy. Mic works, answer button works. Can start and stop music with answer button and also skip track via long press
Bose MIE2i - not detected as a headset, headphone funtionality only
best headphones you can ever think of .. perfect design great comfort and the bass ohh.. this monster beats many of them personally tested and working very well with defy
and it is so cheap 365/- its like 8 -9 $ ..and the sound quality is awsome

Sound and Bluetooth Headphones

"Hearing' that people are saying the sound is 'crap' (their words), I was wondering if anyone has had a chance to try a decent set of bluetooth earbuds or headphones?
I would like something with a full range, good highs and lows. I have a decent pair of corded Sennheisers that I used to use with my TF101 Transformer, but I am afraid the SQ may be as bad as others are saying.
These have decent reviews:

I use a Sony MW600 with my phones (n7 hasn't arrived yet, but plan on using the MW600 with it as well). I think that the Smart Wireless Headset pro replaced the MW600, but not 100% sure.
I *totally* recommend the mw600's (and I'm assuming the newer Smart Wireless Headset pro will be similar in quality). The sound quality is excellent. I'd call myself a casual audiophile... I appreciate good sound even if I don't have a "golden ear". I really don't detect any difference between the BT audio and direct cable with the same headphones.
So that being said, I used the mw600s till the included ear buds (in ear buds, not quite IEMs) wore out. I now use the teeny MW600 with my Sennheiser HD25 SPs. LOVE THIS COMBINATION. It's amazing how long the MW600 drives the HD25s, how loud and clear the audio can be.
And the Sony BT dongle handles calls as well, of course.
Get it (or the smart wireless headset pro, I'd assume they are similar in quality, but best to research) and the HD25 SPs and you're golden.
Note that I did recable my HD25 SPs and built a split cable that pigtails short off of the headphones so I can clip the Sony dongle to my shirt, along with an extension if I'm using the HD25s hardwired.
I currently use some MM400 sennheisers, works great on my N7, iPhone ect
The forward/backwards function works too!

I use a set of JayBird Freedoms that I use with my Motoactv and my GS2. Sound quality is pretty similar to my Bose IE2's. They carry good range, highs and lows. I have read that they have a great warranty and good customer support. Luckily I have not had to put it to the test yet.
Jaybirds here also. I've had them for about 8 months and love them.

If you are looking for bluetooth, make sure it has the apt-x codec. It makes your audio files sound like a wired headset. I use the HTC stereoclip in my car and for my EVO LTE. The soun difference is amazing. The samsung hs3000 has it also and they come with earbuds and it is only $34 on Amazon. Look on the Evo lte forums under accessories to learn more.
Has anyone used the LG Tone - HBS700 Wireless Bluetooth Headset? Looks like it has good reviews and it would be comfortable to wear. I'm debating on buying it. I listen to music relatively frequently as i'm out and about and would like to go wireless for convenience, but not sure if it is an absolute necessity.

Bluetooth audio is about convenience, but there really are some gems out there for audio quality.
I'm still using a 5+ year old set of Jabra bluetooth headphones I bought new from Tigerdirect when they mysteriously went on sale for $25 shipped.. and a few days later they went back up to the normaly $125... not before me advising a bunch of co-workers at the time and letting them try them out.
This was when Bluetooth 2.1+edr was pretty cutting edge, and for wireless headphones they sound fantastic.
That being said, when I get my Nexus 7 16gb pre-order in, I'll test them out... but on a new device I have no doubts they'll sound great.
I also have an old pair of KOSS headphones, with full range, but they look ridiculous with large bold print on each ear, but they sound great.
I'd update that, but I rarely wear headphones while at home. I work for a large Canadian Bank doing internal IT, and I wear a monural plantronics headphone most of the day, so I give my ears a break after hours.

DECK by SOL REPUBLIC bluetooth speaker/speaker phone on sale at Motorola for $50!!!

http://www.motorola.com/us/accessor...kers/deck/deck-portable-wireless-speaker.html
This makes a great speaker phone for when I am working from home. I can walk pretty far away from it and the caller can still hear me. I use mine more for a speaker phone than a music device, but it is fantastic as a bluetooth music device too. I downloaded a free equalizer app to boost the bass and it sounds better than any beats device I have ever heard.
Battery life is phenomenal.

I snagged one for $25 at a Radio Shack closing. It's a nice little bluetooth speaker for the $30-50 price range. Compared to my friend's UE Boom...not even close. That's also a $200 speaker, though.
