Hi, i lately unlocked my SGS to use it with my SIM card (got it from my cousin, she had it on contract with other SIM)
Flashed SAUROM, had no problems with it, till it somehow didnt show anything on the notification drawer (no icons for activating/deactivating data, w-lan, bluetooth, etc. and no notifications, it just was blank), well, reflashed it then, it worked again, but then i wanted to change ROM to a 4.2 ROM, and thats where it somehow went wrong, now i only can flash CM, AOKP and AOSP ROMs (only tried up to ICS/CM 9) but they work without trouble...yet i cant install any MIUI or stock/touchwiz ROM anymore
I even cant restore a nandroid backup, the message i get is in the 2nd attachment
Also trying to get back to stock via ODIN and following files:
CODE_I9000XXJVU_CL851880_REV03_user_low_ship.tar.md5
MODEM_I9000XXJVU_REV_00_CL1092175.tar.md5
GT-I9000-CSC-MULTI-OXAJVU.tar.md5
wont work either, message in 1st attachment
Now, i really dont have any plan what went wrong or how it went
Hope one of you guys gets it :fingers-crossed:

I have been looking for two days now for how to get ics on my sprint tab. I see people have it and I have tried to flash it and failed.I read it may be because I have an older cwm. 4.09 or something like that. I want to get ics on here sooooo bad. I very experienced with flashing roms and rooting and all the goodies so I don't need anyone to hold my hand but some links on how to do it or what ill need to do it would be amazing. I can't figure out how to get newer cwm and ics. Help and links would be amazing thank you

I looked at that one and tried to flash it but every time I try to flash it says installation aborted from what I gather its because I have a old version of cwm. What version r u on?

Just to verify the link above on pg 38 post 380 does give the right way to do it. I had never used heimdal I always use Odin and I couldn't get heimdal to work for a couple hours so I gave up and said screw it and ran the tar through Odin and it worked! My screen did goofy stuff but all I had to do was boot into the new recovery and wipe 3 times each data and cache and delvik then flash team hacksun then flashed patch then rebooted and then went back into recovery and flashed gapps.
I swear this tablet was made for ics it never ran this well. A whole new tab is a understatement. Thanks to all the devs and rickxx for guiding the way

Hi,
Currently I am using Criskelo's ICS V11.2 LRK with speedmod kernel just flashed 3 days ago.But in these 3 days,i had 2 screen of deaths.I tested by calling my own number and the phone is still on,but black screen. So i had to pull out battery and reinsert them and reboot. The SOD happened randomly.
So I would like to change kernel to NoteCore and see if it helps with the SOD.But I was doing a nandroid backup first in case but it always hangs halfway.Tried twice, one to internal SD,the other to external SD,but it will hang after a while.
So now I am afraid of doing anything else and would like to ask how am i going to go forward.Initially i am thinking of either flashing kernel zip in CWM or in aroma installer but i am afraid it might hang like the backup process. As this is my first time using aroma installer apart from flashing the ROM, can i ask if aroma installer has the likelihood of hanging just like my CWM hung?
Thanks!

For fast step. You can download cf-root kernel in odin file. ( not zip file). And flash it thru pc odin.
You can use " triangle away" to reset binary count and remove yellow triangle.

Big thanks to you for pointing it out that it's was partial root problem which enable me to find the cause.
Btw,since i go from stock ICS to custom ICS,changing ROMs should not have any root problems already right?

2.3.6 from samfirmware.com the zip file is called JWB_JW2_JW1(stock rom)
are u flashing from 2.3 direct to 4.1? or u make a pit stop at 4.0 in da middle?
if yes then u should lost ur imei number (causing to lost network), try see on da setting>about fone, did u see ur imei number there?
if no, then u should turn back to 2.3 (pick ur own firmware) and flash thru odin. after flashing, retrieve ur imei in /efs folder.
or if u dont format ur internal sd before, there should be folder named efs backup with a zip file inside of it.extract it n paste it to folder /efs by override da old one.
