So basically I've got a 9300mAh ZeroLemon battery... is there any sort of cable or extension thing I could get so I could use it with the Note II dock from Samsung? I know it's not just a normal male MicroUSB connector but something with a few extra pins. In theory you could make a female connector with the extra pins and just have a small cable run from the dock to your phone... but I'm not good with DIY sort of stuff. Does anything exist that I could buy that would let me do this? thanks.

I'm sorry I don't think I know what you want to do, really.
Do you mean you want to use your ZeroLemon while using the Smart Dock?
I want this too. A cable as an extension of the actual docking male connection for phones with extended batteries or bigger phone cases.
The phone would not sit in the dock but would be connected to it and able to use all the dock functions. Something we cant do with the zero lemon battery.

Hi,
Why not just remove the TPU case?
I have the ZeroLemon and connected it to the Smart Dock no problem.
I didn't think it would fit...then I went on vacation and havent had a chance to play with it. Vacation ends tomorrow unfortunately.
I thought about taking the tpu off but didn't know if the battery would be secure enough without it.

I already tried it. I have both Smart Dock and Zero Lemon. Just hold the battery while inserting it on the Smart Dock.
I don't wanna have to take it off everytime...
What is needed is some smarty fella to make an extension dongle. 1/2 inch should do it. Would allow all case fits with goodies.

Nice. I may bite on this:good:
I went ahead and ordered this since I really need a good car mount. I will report back once it arrives in 1-3 weeks.
GENUINE SAMSUNG C&T (=PLEOMAX) UNIVERSAL CAR HOLDER
So.. it's just a universal mount made by Pleomax, who also supposedly makes Samsung official accessories? Kind of shady.
I'll wait for a real dock with a charger and preferably audio out over usb.
Nice find, ill get one myself too. Hopefully itll fit with my case

this is just a tease without the USB Injector
If it had that I'd bite. $19.99 is a good price if you don't need that however.
Nice, added to my watch list...
Pity that there is not a proper car dock yet. Had to buy a new car mount aswell. I just bought some pretty generic and cheap holder from Ebay to hold the phone in place while waiting for some cheap docking solution.

I understand Pleomax makes accessories for Samsung, but this is definitely a Universal car dock, probably this one: http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/cell-phones-accessories/ECS-K200BEGSTA
Advertising it as a Genuine Samsung Note 2 car dock is misleading.

I highly doubt it since there is no micro USB integrated into it. It's just a piece of plastic so your phone doesn't know it's in it.
Just put an NFC tag on the dock. When you insert it, it will do whatever you programmed it to do.
That dock looks like any ordinary eBay generic piece of plastic, BTW. Nothing special about it, IMO. I have a generic squeeze handle one and it works great with any case. The one in the OP looks to only work naked. Not worth the hassle, IMO.

Thanks for the reply. I was wondering since some phone and dock doesn't need to be connected to switch, which confused me on how does the docking work. Anyway I have some NFC tags but so far the is no good app to automatically enable the driving mode without starting S Voice. I tried tasker and I can configure it to switch to the car mode (the icon appeats) but it doesn't enable driving mode (the one which enable the phone to read out events).

It's small, feels like a decent quality piece. It's glossy black with rubber feet on the bottom so it doesn't slide around. It keeps the Note 2 supported nicely when it's dropped in. It's got a floppy rubbery insert that you can take out if you have a case.
One con is that a few times when I've yanked my phone out, the rubber piece has either partially or completely come out. My advice would be to decide on a case of not and, if you leave the rubber insert in, put a drop of hot glue or something to keep the insert in place.
See pics below. Let me know if you have questions.

Yes, it works with a slim case for me without even taking the rubber insert out. When you take the rubber insert out, there's a good 0.5-0.75cm around it, particularly the edges. A case with a big beefy back probably would not fit.

It doesn't come with a cable -- you use your phone's provided cable or anything else, so whatever those deliver. I just have a usb-to-microusb running from my computer to it and it works fine.

Sheesh guys. Think a little more outside your own world.
I have this dock connected to my computer at work. I walk in from a meeting, drop the phone in the charger (instead of setting it down, picking up the cable, jamming it in, etc) and it's immediately mounted as a drive on my computer and is charging anytime I'm at my desk. Need to run to a meeting? You just pick it up...no fussing with cables.
Nope, no spare battery. Surprise, most people don't need one. I spend half my day working at my desk, meaning my phone is charging half the day. In fact, I don't even feel like I ever "charge". It's just sitting in its stand. I never need to plug it in at home.
Nope, no USB or HDMI. Surprise, 99% of the people that use this phone care about that, so why pay for a $100 for a dock with it (that's the wrong color, BTW).
20 bucks? Wow, they saw you coming a mile off.
It's the same dock as this, which is in black or white.

While their prices aren't always the best, I do like Smartphonepedia's video reviews on youtube (the full shows, not the 30 second blips) and the guys there are very pro-android and know their devices. I would throw business at them vs a random guy on ebay any day.

You can just plug the phone into the dock without having to pick up the charge cable and plug it into the phone. Same for removing it from the dock. Since we have to charge the phone everyday, I would say the dock has a value.
Hi,
I am interested in the smart dock for displaying my note 2 on the HDTV and also connecting USB devices. I have an otterbox defender case and am pretty confident that there is no way the handset will fit in the dock. LOL
I am wondering if it is possible to get a cable, with all pins connected, to connect between the note 2 and the smart dock to give the connectivity of the dock, without actually putting the handset into the dock? Essentially connecting a cable from the port on the note 2 to the plug on the smart dock.
If anyone has tried this, perhaps they could share their thoughts.
Thanks
Duncan

That will not work, as it requires the new 11 pin as designed by Samsung.
I am looking for the exact same thing if anyone has found something.
I'm in the market for an 11 pin micro usb extension cable too. Seems like such a simple thing, but it'd be easier to get bigfoot's autograph than to find one. I bet there are people who'd make it if they knew there was a market. I just wish I knew who they were.
you could use an allshare cast dongle as an alternative.
you connect to your TV over WiFi, and then use a regular otg cable for USB.
I am interested in this too.
I have the Zero Lemon battery and I'm pretty sure it can't fit in my smart dock.
I had the UAG case on before I put in the Zero Lemon and that one didn't fit either so I would just remove the case. But now the case is what is actually holding the battery in so I don't think it'd be wise to remove it for the dock and risk the battery moving around or disconnecting...
If someone comes up with this they will sell a bunch of them!
Would kill for a cable like this. It'd be great to use the dock with my ZeroLemon battery.

The google told me you named it wrong. Simply look up cell phone stand... profit.
one guy also posted awhile back about a home made stand. Using an old hotel key, he bent in a way that you can cradle your phone in.

I would google portable book stand. You can find something for around $10 or less.
Another option you may want to look at is the Rockfish PadPivo. You can find the first version for five to ten dollars on sale. The new version is around forty dollars. It's a bit more robust in that you can use it on a desk, or other places by using it on your leg. I've done bot. I picked up the first version for five dollars on sale at Bestbuy
I have a simple folding portable stand for my ten inch tablet that I keep in my tablet cas. I've used one or twice with the GN2, but it was a bit of overkill

Hey guys, I am wondering if anyone has attempted to use Qi wireless with the G Flex. I had the Palm touchstone for my GS3 and fell in love with it. With the Flex I am figuring it is a bit more complicated as there is not simply a dedicated hookup on the back of the device that made the Palm mod possible on the S3, as well as most Qi enabling devices out there connect into the microusb port, which may not be as simple as it could be given the curved back and oddity that is the microusb 3.0 standard connector.
So has anyone given it a shot and have some recommendations?
I didn't feel the need to since the battery last me all day on one charge even with somewhat heavy use.

I'm running this on a Qi wireless charger now. Works quite well except you can't get enough juice out of the Qi receivers on the market. They only go up to 750 mA which means it takes a long time to charge. But I like the convenience.

Do you need a special case for wireless charging? I thought it didn't support the Qi wireless charger. Is it a new feature in 4.4.2?

Good question. Qi wireless charging is a hardware limited option. So you have to add a Qi wireless receiver. You can find numerous universal Qi micro usb "A" on Amazon or eBay. The receiver plugs right into the charging port you have and the receiver is either secured to the back of the phone (it's a really thin, like a thick piece of paper almost). Since there is no removable cover this is the only option. Now if you don't have a case or have a slim one, it probably wouldn't look good. I have mine tucked under a Trident case (in between the phone the case), the Aegis I believe. So you don't even notice it.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Man this is a old post. lol I think I charged the Flex like I do my Note 4. I'll put it on the wireless charger when I sleep and maybe when I take a shower or eating. With the Note 4 it has quick charge so I use the cable if I need some quick juice.
Any word when the Flex 2 is coming out?
