The XZ is a bit picky on app installations .. I realized that after installing a particular game and the SD data would not be recognized in the SD card but I had to copy on to the internal memory so those of you out there having the same problem (mostly with games) I recomend trying this, Hope it helps out !!!!

I have 2 problems
1- my external sd card its locked, and i have NO IDEIA how to unlockit. so i can format it
this is really causing me a lot of troubles.
2- my internal sd card its going crazy.
last night, the phone rebooted, by its own, and restarted. the problem is, ALL OF MY APPS FORCE CLOSES . even if the app its not open.just some apps still work. i have to uninstall the app, and reinstall, and then it will work. even gmail is FC.
And when i connect the phone to the computer, i cant access my files, not on debuging mode, not on kies. on the mac that i have at work, it recognizes.
I cant move any apps 2 sd, but maybe this is happening because of the external sd lock.
but this with the internal sd going crazy its REALLY anoying.
Can anyone have an idea how to format my external memory card???
And how to fix my internal memory card???
[I dont remember how to get the logcat so i can post it here.

When I installed titin. Asuden folder called android/data generated on my external sd and the game data was stored there but when I upgrade to Ginger brid official the game refused to start and it asked for data downloading actaully it load full data under the root of mnt/sd /data/tintin I did try the gameloft patched but no hope any one can help in transferring data to esd. Or to complain sd with esd to behave like a one drive
Hi.
Im running miui rom in my optimus 2x.
I have 3 options to storge.
Phone storage about 1 gb
Sd card storge about 5 gb
And external sd card about 16 gb
The problem is that basically i cant use the external sd card for apps and games,
i try all the move to sd card apps on market and all of tham only move from my phone storage to my sd card, so basically i only have 6gb in my phone.
Is there anyway to move tham to my external??
Tnx.
hmmmmm...
on cm you have an option to do so (settings/cyanogenmod/applications/use external sd for media)
but i don't know if miui has it too. Try looking for something like that
I looked everywhere, there isnt an option like this.
If you don't mind me asking, are you really out of storage to install apps?
Because o2x has an app storage space of 1.5gb excluding the internal 5gb flash memory, and most heavy games will store their game data on the 5gb internal flash mem, and only the basic apk will resides on the app space.
Running out of storage space is really hard achieve since even the heaviest game only consumes like 100mb? Which is mostly stored in the 5gb space. Unless you have hundreds of high end games installed, then you can run out of space .
All the new games need to download between 400-900 mb each, so yeah i runnig out of storge
Alright then, my mistake.
Anyway, I read that to swap sdcard as _externalSD vice versa is via CM7, I am not really sure how because I'm not using it, but I definately read about it before and it is doable. Hopefully someone can help you on the how..
Cheers!
there is a script for miui to swap so your microsd to become /sdcard check the android development

Tnx alot, that fix my problems.
After shenanigans yesterday I've pretty much got my Moto G 2014 LTE running on Marshmallow.
\the problem I have now is one I've experienced a number of times before, on various devices and Android versions:
Why is it that, despite the storage screen showing that I have plenty of available space, am I not unable to install some larger apps?
Settings > Storage shows internal storage 1.15GB used of 5.52GB (as well as SanDisk SD card 890MB used of 14.59GB)
But when I try to install Injustice: Gods Among Us (1.12GB) i get the error message App requires external storage: "Injustice: Gods Among Us" can't be downloaded. Insert an SD card or USB storage with sufficient storage, and try again.
This app was installed prior to upgrading the OS, and while quite large, should still fit on to my device.
Can anyone tell me what causes this, what I can do to get round it, and also, if there is a way to make the OS see the SD card as part of the internal memory so I can install apps directly to it
On Marshmallow, it is possible to use external SD card as internal but don't do it.
Why ? Because you have a too small SD card. This option doesn't merge internal and external, it just sets the external as internal. So you need a 8gb or more SD card (or you will get less storage than before)
Maybe the play store doesn't want to install because your SD Card doesn't have enough space to install the game. I know it is weird, but sometimes even if you want to install to internal, it checks the SD card's available memory.
You can try to wipe the play store cache and data, and if it doesn't work do a wipe cache from recovery.
Try getting the apk file by google'ing it. Install it. Open it then check if it is downloading files or not.

Sorry that should have read 14.59Gb for the SD card, so loads of space

Tried to download the apk and it just days no SD card. I know its there, still shows up in settings and shows apps installed on it. Must be a dodgy card or something, but now i cant work out how to tell the phone to stop using it for apps and install internally unsteady (told it to use it as internal when I did set up, not sure how to go back)
EDIT: OK worked out how to get it to stop using the SD as internal and formatted it for data, and seems to be installing the game now. So I think that pretty much solves my immediate query, but still interested as to why android sometimes says insufficient space despite it reporting in settings that there is plenty

Yeah sorry for my mistake I have read 1.xxgb instead of 14.xxgb
Android reports the storage to be full as soon as XX% of the storage is filled (maybe 90%, I'm not sure). Then if you have a 100gb device, even if you have 10gb free it won't allow you to do anything.
That's weird, but that's how it works.
Have you tried wiping cache ? It sometimes solves the problem.
It is better not to use the format as internal storage except if you really know what you are doing.
Hey guys, I am a gamer and i wanna play games on my phone, the difficulty am getting is the storage. I need a way of transferring the obb folder location to the sd card that way i can play many games with enormous space on the sd card. Please, if anyone here has a way (without rooting) share with rest of us.
You can try Link2SD app. But it requires you to root the phone and make a second partition on your SD card. Try to read as much as you can about Link2SD because if you mess up you might lose all of your files on your SD card or even on your phone. Sorry but I don't know a way to do this without root.
