I know its difficult to see on the picture but my replacement black One on the right is darker at full brightness than my white one on the left.. I know they use different lcd's due to quality issues now and the white one has a stuck pixel so at least the black one is free from that it just doesnt look right and is annoying me.. and input?
PS: when using the camera app the black one seems to always be focusing!! they are on the same settings, software and same looking at the same image, really strange
You are aware that you don't have the brightness turned fully up on the right device aren't you?

LOLOLOLOL that's an epic fail ... OP, surely you can see that in the pic! ... I have the black one and it only focuses when I touch to focus.
Yeah mines the same, works perfectly fine regarding that.
I have sorted the focus issue out with a hard reset they now both perform the same, the brightness is turned down slightly to show the blue colour better..

Hello,
if I use my X1 in a dark ambience with a dark background on the telephone, I can see that some areas of the display are brighter than others (particularly the top right and left side of the display).
Its only visible in dark areas with a dark picture on the telephone (e.g. the Sony Ericsson start up screen). If I have a colured picture or white picture and if the ambience is bright I cant see the brighter areas anymore.
Is this phenomenon ok or is my X1 damaged?
I think its normal (whether that's OK for you or me is a different question)
There were 2 or 3 threads on this a couple of months back -try searching for "light bleeding" or "screen fade" or "light leakage" and you should find them
Thank you for the post!
Seems that everyone has this problem so it wouldnt be helpful to return it, right?
How do you mean i don't get it.
i don't have any problems with the backlight
Than you are a lucky man

Thnx, I hope i don't get any problems with my backlight or else i would be very upset
My X1 doesn't seem to have this issue
But maybe I should try with something darker than this...
You need to photograph your display while having a dark picture on it. The failure is a physical one, that is why you cant save it with a screenshot.
Another question:
Varies the intensity of the bleeding problem from phone to phone or has the problem everytime the same intensity on every phone in case that the problem occurs?

The top left/right corners are a bit "yellow" for me, I guess that's just normal.
It really isn't noticable most of the time though, so I don't care about it .
Yes you are absolutely right, they are a bit yellow!
And only visible with a black backround, right?
Probably heat related.
Check it with the X1 stone cold, check it when it's been in use for a while.
Sorry but what is the X1 stone cold?

Oops sorry, regional thing I guess.
I mean when it's cold as in hasn't been turned on for a while, hasn't been on charger for a while (and is as cold as a stone )
Hmh as far as I can see is the problem everytime the same. It doesnt matter if the telephone is hot or not.
Old thread, but actual situation...
I have the same problem: on the top right corner (and just a bit on the top left corner) when the display is on and black (start up, panel manager etc.), i see a yellow light...
Should i return it?
I've just noticed a white pixel when i use camera in low light contition. Is it normal for this device? It's not a lcd screen defect because if i zoom the white pixel moves itself. If u want to test it simply cover the lens and see the image on the screen
This is normal. Many people have reported this. I knew about 1 dead black pixel. Having just tried pitch black camera I found 2 white dead pixels. Nothing to worry about, apparently the majority of devices have them.
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 2
Ah ok, thanks! Iwas going to send it back ! However the pixel appear after few seconds and not just when i open camera. I notice it is barely blinking...
However lcd is perfect...
The white pixel appear only form 400 to 1600 iso
Anyone noticed this issue?
i noticed it too, a green pixel, that is visible or not depending on the visual angle.. absolutely normal for that kind of screen

It isn't display issue it appears only in camera mode above 400 ISO and it's noticeable in very low light conditions
Just wanted to know if anyone else notice the different colours in the captive buttons. The light white coloured captives on the HTC one is running stock rom and the dark blue coloured captives second htc one running sky dragon v7 beta. At first I thought it could be the kernel but even with stock rom on both installed colours never changed. Although I am glad not to have any purple tint but gotta say started to prefer the blue look just as it stands out.
Yeah mine are pink on Viper.
I think it has to do with the brightness of the LEDs since white LEDs tend to turn pink and blue depending on their brightness levels. Unfortunately I haven't succeeded in changing it even with the Capactive Buttons app in the Play Store which is meant to do just that.

Its strange, even with max brightness no change, also the app worked for when some roms didn't have Capacitive button lights on auto.

Yep. No change. Its weird. Its obviously doing something because the capacitive buttons flicker off and then come back on but the brightness is the same. The only one that works is turning them off entirely.

Hmm you don't it could also be kernel related as theres the notification mod to flash the capacitive when theres a notification

I don't know. I haven't messed with kernels in a while. Mostly because I don't use my phone as much now that I have a Nexus 7 and it doesn't overheat unlike my One. I just happened to grab my phone when I saw your post and noticed my buttons are pink on Viper.

Cool man, yeah at times i prefer using the nexus 7 at times just because bigger screen but mainly on the phone more as need for daily use but did find nexus 7 2013 design to be a bit annoying when its hot compared to the 2012 model. Although got both 2013 seems to be same as htc one just alot bigger.
In outdoors under direct sunlight my display contrast looks likes its been reduced ... and the colours seems washed away.. but in indoors with full brightness i got no issue with the display.. anyone facing the same problem ??... can anyone help me to correct this?
This is how intended to work by default. To increase readability of the screen. No way to change that as of now.

Screen brightness
Bought this phone for the good camera quality but nobody told me the camera was only for inside pictures. Once you get in the sun your screen goes all black. Not very handy.

You can turn this off in developer options
Hey guys, hope you are doing great.
I have noticed one peculiar thing, when i sit in pitch dark places with brightness at the end, i face this white issue over my display screen shot attached, it's Google chrome app which showing me these results,(there are many more also)for this to be noticed you must sit in a dark room.
I know it's typical led panel issue and i would like to know if i am the only one?
Do you seriously think we are able to see your display in a screenshot?

If you are in a pitch dark room and see no anamoly then your's display is good. If not you will see a whitish tint over the top area
And btw you can check on your device itself, by just opening chrome(if it's black) and in dark room with brightness as low as possible.

Enable feature in display settings under anti flicker mode to on. and check again your screen in low light conditions.
Yup, that worked, it increase overall contrast for low brightness, is this condition(tint) is normal for amoled panel, or i am just unlucky.
