I've configured my Gmail to the built in HTC mail app as I've read its more battery friendly.
The only problem is it puts new mail into the trash. There is obviously no option in the settings to change this.
Anyone else experienced this?

Hey guys
Wondering if anyone can help me out. Running CM6 on my N1 and finding that I get constant email notifications on my Exchange email accounts. If I really receive 5 emails I get at least 3 sound notifications instead of just one for new mail.
The Gmail account has a setting for 'Notify once' to only notify on first new email instead of each, but this setting doesn't appear to be available for Exchange email accounts in the stock mail app.
Does anyone have a solution/ideas?
Thanks.
Nobody else?
Maybe i'm the only one with this problem...?
I have everything in my sync and also configured in my facebook settings to receive the notifications....But so far, I just receive one time...Is set to sync every 30min...But it worked one time only....
I know that is a know issue, I just would like to know if someone know how to fix that...
I wanted to receive notifications when i have messages, comments and new requests....
I just configured everything in the facebook settings on my phone...is still not working....
You did know you can activate your phone through Facebook to receive sms notifications.
Sign into Facebook>Account>Account Settings>Mobile Tab
See if that will do what you want. Facebook sync is meh at best.
Added: "Standard messaging rates apply"
Facebook notification is badly broken across all android phones and there's no excuse for it
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
yeah i wish we had the iphones facebook notifications..the only good thing about the iphone lol
So still no fix for this? My notifications worked before the most recent Facebook app update. Way to go, Facebook.
If you use Hotmail for facebook, Just sync it via EAS in
Settings > Accounts and sync > Add account > Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync.
You will get notifications via hotmail instantly.

Guys, I know this is an old thread but I want to see if someone can confirm that notifications work with this facebook apk.

It is a blacked out version which I honestly think is better without notifications, but I started getting them after installing. So if anyone could confirm it works for them, great! If not, I got lucky and at least we have a cooler looking version of facebook.
I've got the gmail exchange settings setup on the email app that came with the phone. The emails come in right on time like they are supposed to. But when the mail read on the device, it does not show up as read on gmail. The problem also exists the other way around.
Is there something wrong with the email app or did I do something wrong in the settings?
So I don't know if I'm missing something obvious or if htc severely crippled sharing in their sense OS. Basically I'm trying to send a contact card to a colleague and the only options available in the contact app is via SMS or the built in htc email app (along with Bluetooth, NFC etc). Every 3rd party android app lets you share via any other app on the phone but is htc really limiting us to just their built in apps!? I don't use the htc email app and I want to send via gmail but I simply don't see a way to do so. Is this possible!?
Nobody else who uses gmail shares contacts via email?
I agree that it is unusual as I frequently send contacts from my phone via gmail to my work computer. The workaround I'm using is to add my gmail account to the HTC Mail app, and then turn of sync and notifications for the HTC Mail app. The only time I use it is when I send a contact.
I am having issues getting a new work IMAP address to work on my HTC One for Sprint. It works through the Gmail app and through Gmail on a web browser but when I select IMAP in the default HTC app (I prefer over gmails app) it doesn't seem to work and if I try to set it up as a Gmail account in the HTC app it says it isn't an account so I am pretty confused.
Anyone able to shed some light on this?

Click to collapse
It's not a Gmail account then?
When you bring up add an account in the HTC Mail app, click on Manual.
Enter in all your info there. That doesn't work?
I figured it out, thanks.
