Custom Boot Animations - Sprint HTC One (M7)

So now that we can flash splash screens to our phones has anyone tried putting any custom boot animations on as well or made any? Is it as easy as just replacing the boot animation zip like older devices?

Anim mod

Hey guys I've been trying to customize the screen transitions and animations on my Aria. I have downloaded this app and it sounds promising but as soon as I try installing one of the options, it says it has failed but still asks me to reboot. I really want to change my screen transitions and I don't know how other than this app. BTW I am running Liberated Aria 2.2. 004b kernel.

You can find this app by staring Anim Mod in Market. Sorry I can't post links yet xD

its trying to write to /system files but the liberty is not able to write to there
i have a kernel(FOR CM7) that enables a pseudo s-off(writing to /system) and it might be able to work with my kernel and the aufs module
see both threads for more info
Thanks for the advice but I really like HTC sense, so if I wanted these transition effects, would I have to go back to CM7?

I couldn't get metamorph OR anim mod to work with the r/w overlay so...
Either i'm doing somthing wrong or you must have s-off for it to work.
Yeah its probably required that you have S-off. Darn, I really wanted those cool transitions. Does any one else know another method?

Might be possible to flash through recovery

Yep.
EDIT. Nevermind. Metamorph DOES work.

i think anim mod isnt setting the system to r/w
Flashing through clockworkmod DOES work to change transition animations. There was an online kitchen for that, which I can't remember now.

Insecure Boot IMG Red Text / Stock Rom

Heres One For You, The Stock Rom That Einstein Has Created, Would It Repair The "This Build Is For Development Purposes Only" In Theory?
I No Longer Have The Device, But If It Does, It May Solve These Woes That People Are Having Trying To Restore Stock?
Yes, this might work...in theory.

Are you talking bout the one that shows up under the htc logo before the boot animation? That message only shows up when your using a boot img that's been modified if you flash any untouched stock boot image the message will go away.

Then we could simulate the stock boot animation and run our modified animation.

[Q] How to change ROM splash screen (Kernel logo)?

Please can anyone (ROM developers preferably!) tell me how you go about changing the splash screen (the first screen that you see) on the XZ?
Thanks in advance
The boot animation?
In /system/media/bootanimation.zip

Cheers but I followed this tutorial originally but I got a blank screen after making the changes. It would be good to know how the ROM developers do it!
I have had the same result - I am not sure where the issue lies but I have tried manipulating the boot.img in both windows and Ubuntu following the tutorials but always the same result - blank screen.
Managed to do this on my Arc but then stabbed the Arc to death by mistake.
Have you tried @championswimmer's kernel kitchen?

Nexus_5 Bootanimation w/ Powered by Android

I modified the boot animation modded/ created here http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/themes-apps/-t2697912 to fit our resolution.
I really like it so I thought I would share with everyone else. Thanks to sgosiaco for allowing me to modify it and share it. This is not a flashable zip, you need to install it with a root file manager.
Edit: I fixed the zip so it should work now.

I already used this one on my AHD about 1 month ago and love it too but mine dont have the text at the bottom and I think it's more beautiful
Yea this one has the powered by android in it that's what I was looking for. Resolution was so high I couldn't see it so I reformatted the images to work with smaller screens.
Edit: I modified the subject to include the change to the animation.
But WHY THE RUM??!!!
Is not a flashable zip or am I missing something? Tried flashing in recovery. Did not work.

Yeah, you did miss something. Always look inside any zip you download. That way you know what to do with it.

Yea I should have said it was non-flashable zip

I get a blank screen, yes I did change the permissions of the file.

Not sure why, it works great for me. I've flashed a few roms since making this and I drop it in system/media replacing the one from the rom and it works. I usually forget to change permissions. Did you remeber to rename it to bootanimation.zip? I put a name in front of all the boot animations I use to remember which one is which.

I'm sorry that it did not work, I'm not sure why it wouldn't. I'll check it and see if I can figure it out.

Flashing Custom Recovery

Hey could someone point me to a walkthrough of how to flash a custom recovery with Mac. I have tried everything and I'm lost. I have unlocked boot loader.

Point your terminal to the folder the recovery image is located and type
./fastboot-mac flash recovery nameofrecovery.img
I have tried that over and over but it doesn't seem to flash. Would it be easier to put the recovery on the desktop

Usually putting it in a root of a drive is the easiest.

Can you drag and drop files into the terminal like you can on windows?
