(Q)About Jellybam rom? - LG Optimus 2x

Pls convert Jellybam:http://get.jellybam.com/p990 to NewBL

Jellybam apparently is banned from this forum. You better have luck asking somewhere else.
Besides; you should probably ask the dev of this rom to do so

why banned?

the ROM is 306.73 MB. i don't think old BL has enough partition size, so maybe it is for new BL?

No, this ROM is for old bootloader but for extended system partition. It got banned because of TERRIBLE support and mostly the ROM from the developer always caused bootloop and then the users always had to modify the ROM themselves in order to make it work. The developer wouldn't even care to answer any question in the thread. So apparently it seemed that it's all about money.

No, it got banned because of the fact that Jellybam uses sources from other roms, claiming they are developed by themselves, which they aren't.

Jellybam 8.1 is stable and does have a lot of features, the file size is larger than most aosp roms because the gapps are baked into the rom. It was banned from xda for using PAC features without permission. The developer has his own website set up now, I would suggest looking there for downloads and Q&A since the threads on xda get shut down shortly after they are started.

who can convert that rom and share to use.thank......

That's not allowed here, because of the reasons we've mentioned. I suggest you look for another rom

[Q] Is there a list of roms that are updateable thru ROM MGR clockwork?

Im sorry but I Didnt see a thread dedicated to this feature. I apologize in advance if this has been covered elsewhere.
Y!S
All roms are flashed via CWM unless they say to do it differently in their thread. CM7 is about the only one that's not done this way.
Nobody gives install instructions anymore since it should be common knowledge if you did your research.
Also, this is NOT a development question. We have a Q&A section for these types of questions.
all custom roms come with CWM built into the kernel.
once you have a custom rom you DONT USE rom manager anymore.
also this is the DEVELOPMENT section.
DO NOT POST QUESTIONS HERE!!!

you guys are misunderstanding his question, ROM manager is capable of sending out OTA's for individual ROM's if the ROM creator implements this feature. as far as I know, there are yet to be any ROM's that use this in the Captivate section, though please tell me if I'm wrong. CM7 will use this feature once it's capable of using ROM manager through a properly functioning param.ko
as for you two, no need to be so aggressive/rude. you didn't answer his question properly and were a bit extreme in your judgment toward him. but as for you OP, they are correct in that this isn't truly related to development and is more suited to "General" or "Q&A" from now on.
my point was nobody uses rom manager after stock anymore.
if someone cant properly post, they wont get a full complete answer

Hey TRusselo you have gone beyond making it known that I posted in the wrong section but no matter how I look at your answers you still come across as a big fat jerk. There isnt any need whatsoever for you to post that.. and then to come back and repeat yourself with another entry saying the SAME thing and MAINTAINING the attitude.. you got my attention.
Kaik541 did answer my question. I was wondering if any devs have used this feature in rom manager. For over the air updates.
As to the reason why I posted in the DEVs section was because i thought that it was a development question. ROMS updated over the air thru ROM MANAGER is implemented by DEVELOPERS. It stands to reason why i have not seen any notes in any DEVELOPERS release and that is apparently no DEVELOPERS are using this feature. I hope that I made it understood as to WHY I posted in the dev section. I am now more familiar with the rules so I do beg your pardon for posting in the wrong place.
Nightly builds that can be updated over the air seems like it would really be something that a DEV would utilize with all the tweeks contently done to these roms. I for one look forward to having such a useful tool.

Nightly builds aren't considered updates. They are made so the flash happy people have something else to play with and test for the devs. They aren't meant for everyone to use as DD's. Utilizing this feature for nightlie's would end up with TONS of questions from newbs that don't know how to fix what they just did.
This has been brought up a few times and to be honest with all the possible issues that could come across from OTA updates like flashing a bad file cause you lost connection for a split sec and didn't notice, I wouldn't use it. The first att OTA update proved this. Thousands of bricks, then it was released by Kris update. Alot less bricks.

custom rom

Is there any custom rom existing for p880 ?
CM10 ? If not, what is the reason sofar ?
Furthermore, this is this the developers section, where, as the name explains it well, only developers can post to show their work and not people who don't even know how to search in the forum.

Not entirely sure why my original answer was removed - I guess that our Mod didn't appreciate my picture?
Regardless of that, please learn to search and read before posting pointless questions. No custom ROMS, no unlocked bootloader. It would have taken you less time to find the answer yourself than it took me to type.

[Q] Which ROM shouldI install (and why?)

One thing for sure: I want something stable (even more: rock solid) not the latest alpha/unstable/night build. Which one I should chose and why? I mean the list of choices here is overwhelming.

+1 This is a "best rom" thread and these threads are not allowed on XDA.
Yes, I read this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/announcement.php?f=1312
And haven't found "best ROM" threads are not allowed. Anyways: https://www.google.com/search?q="best+rom"site:xda-developers.com
OK. I have this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2060605
but I can't find system encryption in it. I'm also unable to import contacts from a SIM card.
So which ROM is for me if I'd like to have these features as well?

Thank you.
Best ROM threads always turn into Pissing Matches and result in flaming (that is why they are frowned upon). Best thing you can do is go to Dev section and read a few OPs. Pick a few that you like and read the last 10 pages or so for bugs. Narrow it down to one you want and start reading.
Oh and make a Nandroid before flashing or your next thread will be "Help!!! My phone won't boot".

[Q] KitKat on Cooper?

Hi, i'm a new member of the forums but i have been cheking the youtube channel and also used the forum to root my device and also to install some custom roms in it.
I'm currently using CM 10.1.6 modded and it works perfectly and very smooth
so first of all thx to those guys http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2212438
second, i would like to know if we, the cooper users are we going to have 4.4 on our devices anytime soon? i dont know if that is even possible; maybe the fact that we are already able to run 4.2.2 is big step. However; kitkat will be us a performance increase? is it gonna use less ram for exaple (the s5830 really lacks on that point)
thx
(I'm pretty suprised about all the anti spam security measures that this forum has, i have never seen something similar)

Maclaw posted on his fb wall that there would a release soon. He later told that he was working on cm11
AFAIK, maclaw is planning to release a new kernel. Would be nice to see a CM11, though I am a little reserved regarding it

Installing a CUSTOM ROM, totally newbie!

Hey everyone!...
So I recently upgraded my 4x HD to Jelly Bean and now I realized that I made a mistake, my phone has been wrecked, performs like crap. I formatted the phone before upgrading to JB but that didn't do any good. At first I encountered ram issue, for no reason without having installed any apps, I was having about 200 mb of free ram compared to average of 270 mb's in ICS, however after going thru topics here at XDA forums, I was able to fix the ram issue and now I have 250 mbs+ normally free but it's still doing me no good. Those games that used to run butter smooth on ICS now lags on JB, especially after few minutes of play, phone gets hot and games start lagging and I have no idea why, I haven't installed any battery saving apps.
Here's some tests/info
Can't post external links :*(

@admins
Sorry to do that, I am not spamming so I hope this isn't a violation of rules, please excuse me.
Given how awfully my phone performs compared to ICS, I am genuinely surprised by the benchmark results, it's about 1.5k higher than it was in ICS.
Short of all that, I see no other solution than installing a custom rom, I need to know what's the best custom rom available and where do I begin. I have never done this before. Links to tutorial and rom would be highly appreciated, thanks :fingers-crossed:
You may noticed that nobody answered your thread yet and there's a reason for it. If you read the rules of xda (I assume you did) there are a few problems here: First and most important, "Search before posting". The ram management and its problems on JB compared to ICS have been discussed many times and as you're a clever person you will find those related threads easily by a brief search. Second rule you didn't follow is, that "Best ROM/Kernel etc threads" aren't allowed on XDA at all, so nobody will answer that. If you ask why you didn't read the rules at all and that's you fault.
For your main question: Installing/Flashing a custom ROM isn't that hard if you (and that part is important) follow the easy accessible tutorials in the general section. If you have a specific problem in the whole unlocking, rooting and/or flashing process we are very likely able to help you but no one will provide a full tutorial in a Q&A thread just because you don't even try to follow said tutorials.
This is not meant as an insult or anything, just a hint for you to get the needed knowledge: Read, everything you don't know, google it or search on XDA as there's a good chance you'll be able to get an answer yourself.
So please follow the rules and/or read them (again) carefully before posting next time.
I wish you a successful future with the android custom ROM scene in this forum.

If you are more satisfied with the performance on ics, I believed that you can always downgrade using the links in this great forum. As for flashing custom rom, there are plenty of them on xda and you can browse through them and choose the one that suits you best, just remember to root and unlock before performing the flashing of custom roms.

I totally get it, it's my bad but the thing is that I did search thoroughly before posting here and there were dozens of custom roms there and I couldn't decide which one to get. Firstly I thought I'd go with Cybermodgen but then I read somewhere that it isn't the best option available so that kind of made me indecisive.
I see that you've been using Optimus 4x HD as well, could you answer a few things, it'll help me decide what to do next.
Which rom are you using?
How do you rate its performance compared to JB?
Should I go back to ICS or move on to a custom ROM?
I'd highly appreciate your help!.
Thanks :cyclops:

I'm using the LiquidSmooth v3.2 by Mourta
with his awesome kernel based on iodaks great work.
The performance I got with this one is the best I ever had (on custom roms)
but you'll have to set up a few things but they are all stated in the dedicated thread over here:
http://www.modaco.com/forum/594-lg-optimus-4x-hd-4xhdmodacocom/
The first three threads are the interesting ones.
I would definitely move on to a custom rom instead of going back to ics
which is in my opinion way below regarding it's performance and/or the amount of it's features.
