Otterbox Defender Case (look-a-like)

I bought this on ebay for my epic touch and thought it would be cool to share with xda, check it out ... It's a Otterbox Note 2 Defender Case (look-a-like)
CHECK IT OUT
it has all the features of the defender case except the Clear protective membrane on touch screen or the Ratcheting belt clip holster...
I drop my phone once from getting out the car and it was on lap, the case protected the phone perfect, no scratch or hard impact...
Just sharing ... its not otterbox but its something cheap and it protects
The quality is equal to otterbox, I had Defender cases on my other devices and this is equivalent... the seller has 4-5 different colors, I got mines in 4-5 days

Does it have the foam on the inside of the hard plastic like the Otterbox?

It's funny, the look-a-likes for most the big name brands: otterbox, ballistic, seidio all have counterparts that look almost identical to them design wise and perform nearly up to par, but at at most 1/4 of the retail price.

does this case have port covers like the otterbox?

That type of black rubber looks like it will attract dust/lint.
Anyway I'll probably get the white one.

Not necessarily. The ones for my Evo lte and GS3 didn't.

Is this case easy to remove from the phone? Had one on order already just waiting for it to be shipped.

Had this case on my gs3 for 2 days then removed it. Its a bad fit. Holes dont line up. Rubber feels like a cheap dog toy. There is no padding on inner layer so it will scratch your phone. Bulkier then a defender. Its harder to take off then a defender. Just a bad case imo

I've been rocking mine for a week now. Bad fit but I overcame that by adding black velvet tape I had for my home theater screen border. This helps it fit better and helps keep it from scratching my phone. The case still creaks when you handle it but not as badly. It's heavy. But I like it more than I hate it. I love portrait and landscape kickstand modes. Lint magnet, yes. But nothing I can't blow off by blowing hard with my mouth, as filthy as that sounds.

The buttons originally lined up perfectly and we're extremely easy to press, which is a good thing. But since I added my velvet spacer, sometimes I have to fight to press the side buttons accurately. In the end, I'm loving this case still. And no, mine came with no plus for the ports. Not sure if it was supposed to but thought it was.

No foam inside

I think the best part is it has all the features of the defender case except the "Clear protective membrane" on touch screen ... I think since were using a stylus ... a screen protector will be better then the loose "Clear protective membrane"

It's not like it's permanently attached to the otterbox...you can pull it out if you wanted to. Done it many times. And the s-pen works fine through screen protectors. It's not your typical stylus. I will continue to wait for the real thing personally.
And it doesn't have all the features...no port covers and no holster.

Well it's not like rocket science or something. Slapping some pieces of plastic together is not that complicated really.

Ya doesn't fit right, not gonna use it

My roomate, my phone, my GF's sisters phone, her dad and her mom have this case. It is very good. I can post pictures if you want. It is just like the S3 Otterbox. Love it! Buy it.

I got that same style case for my Galaxy S3. The case is quite nice but the kickstand was so flimsy that it broke in just a day.

I liked your case, where did you buy it, and how much you paid for it? it seem very slim....I'm jealous...
I order the kickstand, just want it, I'm in the bed and watching a movie...but I have also got this real slim case from ebay for like $1.50 cent....that just protect from wear and tears and normal use.

nice case, but I always over-look the Otterbox defender because they add too much bulk to your phone, and it's like you just carry a rock in your pocket, and I also don't like the folding case, because seriously I've to fold and hold the phone while talking, NOT ME.
but hey everyone has their own choice, ENJOY IT.

This one is slowly becoming my favorite. It's slim, it has a kickstand, the kickstand is designed in a way it provides a great way to hold the phone (like a flygrip), it fits perfectly in my Seidio holster, it has a bit of a lip by the screen for worry-free face down placement, it has a great texture for grip and it doesn't show fingerprints.
I usually buy my cases with a big discount in order to resell them after I "test" them. In this case though I paid regular price at the Verizon store ($20) and I'm probably keeping it as my daily case.

Yeah. It makes the phone huge but I work outside in some pretty rough conditions sometimes.....that's when this case reports for duty.

It's fairly slim though I wouldn't call it a "slim" case. It slides in the pocket easily but I mainly use it with it's holster.
I bought it because I love the color but this is probably one I'll be reselling because it shows fingerprints easily, the two piece vertical design has issues with locking into place (some find it too hard to remove while others, including me, have an issue with how easily it opens up), and the lip is a little too large.

Im using the case mate pop right now. Loving it so far

Haha gotta save every penny I love everything about this case but the kickstand is worthless. Maybe I'll get one that doesn't have a kickstand next.

That looks pretty nice actually. Very similar to the Seidio Surface with a twist on kickstand. I like it.

cool case for our phones, mesh metal like

got this cool case on ebay. its like a mesh metal texture. feels really nice. a little slipperier than the tpu case. but it's definitely slim profile. looks very good and fits perfect. it was 3 bucks and shipped in less than a week. i really like how this makes the phone look new.

I really like the unibody cases. Any of the 2 piece plastic ones pop off if you so much as lay your phone down wrong. I'll definitely be picking one of these guys up. Good find.

poetic atmosphere a very slim good quailty and cheap priced one

the only problem is its so slim it dosent have enough protection for the lens
another option is Poetic AER it looks a little more protective and still very slim
i thinkthere should be a small screen protector for the camera lens that dosent affect the quality
maybe il try the one i got with the trident il just cut it in the size of the lens

I had Note 3 N9005, Note 8.0 N5100, Note 10.1 N8020, they have front and side speaker.
I really dont understand why is samsung so f... stupid to put rear speaker on SGS5. Thats crazy.
That is the worst thing they did on S5. Stupid .....

the speaker is also **** but thats probably caused by water resistance measures

my UAG case now have that too but i don't think any slim case comes with a solution to the problem

Although Rugged cases are important these days. I am always a fan of slim back covers. So, i ordered the military design back cover. I am waiting for the other Chevron full rugged case in the screenshot to be released this month in Amazon so that i can order it. These two are my pics.

Manan, i am not sire if the 299/- one has the camera bump in it. According to the Amazon customer reviews, rugged cases above 399/- has the camera bump.
I am not so sure tho, i might be wrong. Just keep an eye on.

I think its better to search in local market... I got mine in just 100inr and yah its having a bump edge too to protect camera bump and lookwise its nice and premium too.... And the most important thing is that for fitting and feel on hand, we dont need to depend on others view or review.
