Really? The HTC folks said it was identical to the ATT hardware. You can flash any ROM you like, but the hardware and radio are for that model.

Well, the Android Revolution mod, during install asks you to pick a ROM version:
International WWE
US Developer Edition / AT&T
Their forum member said to choose international (although I did notice many default settings were not like the US). I imagine the Developer Edition mode would work as well.. might try it for fun.

Just bought the HTC One from Bell Canada and need to unlock the bootloader and flash TWP and Root. That easy and all, but for the life of me cannot figure out which HTC One I have and which forum to go to. Usually all Canadian devices are AT&T versions but I guess the Canadian version for the HTC One is just the international?

It doesn't matter. ALL GSM (except china) phones are compatible with each other.
This is the right forum.
Hopefully the moderators here on XDA will merge them all soon and we can get on with our lives

The TWRP and CWM found in the AT&T forum is a repost of the ones found here.
you can flash anything from any htc one forum except the sprint forum as they are cdma not gsm
Thanks all, rooted and TWP installed. All I need to figure out is how to get the extended power menu on stock.
There's a mod but I think it requires a deodexed rom. Not sure
yeah i think it does that why I haven't tried it yet. Want to stick with stock for now.
Looking at the unlocked "Developer" edition One;
http://shopamerica.htc.com/cell-phones/productdetail.htm?prId=41599
Or looking at this "Unlocked" version too for $575;
http://shopamerica.htc.com/cell-phones/productdetail.htm?prId=41589
Which models are these, as far as development goes on XDA ? Would that be considered the standard "HTC One", not an ATT or T-Mobile version ? I know the developer edition works for both ATT and T-Mobile U.S. carriers, but when rooting and installing custom ROM's, which "One" XDA sub forum to use ?
Thank you
You can use this one which is the international and the att and tmo should be merged into this one soon if not already
difference

The first is 64 gb storage called the developer Edition (unlocked)
The second is a 32 gb version.
For the money the first option is the best, this is what I purchased.

The 64Mb is the developer edition. It has an unlocked BOOTLOADER and is SIM free.
The 32Mb is SIM free, but has a locked bootloader.
EDIT: Both are equivalent to the AT&T US HTC One, but without any AT&T bloatware.
Hello, I have bought Second hand HTC ONE and I am very confused from all those versions and s-off's (came from Samsung phones)
So first I need help identifying my htc one version (bands etc) as I suspect that I the seller cheated me.
I will try to give you all the information I have so please help me =]
CID:
BS_ US001
Info from htc site:
Model: HTC One
Sales to: USA
Release date: 2013/05/16
Software version:
1.29.1540.17
android 4.1.2
bootloader is locked.
phone is 32gb
can you please tell me what version (European, American etc and what bands it got cuz I am really clueless) I have and weather I can have ota's or not.
thank you very much.
Pretty sure that's a Developer Edition handset (US-only)

Yea but aren't the Dev edition only being sold in 64GB?
EDIT:
How can I know the cid of the phone wasn't changed?
You can't, if someone changed it to the CID/MID of the Developer Edition to flash the RUU then that's what you have. You could change the CID/MID to the EU unbranded handset, flash the RUU and see how that goes?
But yes, the Dev Edition was 64GB only

So if the HTC site says that it "Sales to: USA" I should check the USA variants ? (this is the site that checks your serial and imei if I am not clear enough).
I'd be looking at the unlocked HTC One available from HTC online:

Sounds like the one you've got...
hi everyone! i have this doubt: if i buy an htc one "unlocked version" in us, will i be able to use it here in italy with my vodafone operator?
and the unlocked version is the same htc one that they sell here in europe? i mean, the at&t, verizon ecc versions have their own modding limits, the unlocked version can be modded as much as the european version?
thanks

stay away from Sprint and Verizon!! (CDMA phones, not GSM)
maybe this will help: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2223236
hmm, the chart is down...
EDIT: here you go:

thanks a lot dude! so, basically, i have to check the model id of the european version and the model id of the us one. If they are the same, i can do the same modding, right?
then, with the "unlocked version", i can use my operator here in italy, can't i?
Edit: another question: does exist a 64gb unlocked version?

I think most US models will be PN0712000 whereas European ones will be PN071000 (the LTE models)... non LTE European models will be PN0711000
But what you should check is whether you'll be able to get LTE in Europe, using a US phone, because I don't know if the bands are compatible... maybe someone can give you a confirmation about that.
Thanks i will wait for some infos

Only M7_UL and M7_U variants are RUU cross-compatible (still require to change CID/MID). So don't flash the dev edition RUU on your Verizon (wlv) variant. Anyway, better to stick with viperone imo, much more up-to-date then using a RUU.

You can install any Verizon stock or custom roms, it won't affect the radio bands the phone was designed to work with. Refer to htc website to know what bands the Verizon htc one supports and check if it's compatible with your carrier.
