Hi,
I have an AT&T HTC One and for the last couple of weeks, I've been getting a message saying that I don't have a sim card every once in a while and it won't let me make any calls other than emergency calls.
The message goes away after I restart the phone but the problem is I just don't know that it's happening until I see it and in the meantime I miss calls
Has anyone seen this and have an idea on what to do?
Thanks!
Try removing the sim card and cleaning the golden contacts of the sim. If the problem still persists try changing the rom if you are rooted and if you're not rooted try formatting your phone after backing it up. If its still there than it might be a hardware problem

Every once in a while I would notice, when I unlocked my phone, it would say "Emergency Calls Only" as if I didn't have a SIM card in.
Everything would still work after that such as text messages and calls, so I just figured it was a weird issue with Cyanogen 6 RC1.
Starting today, I was getting that message every single time, and also a notification that I couldn't register on T-Mobile's network.
I got on T-Mobile's live chat help, and they said there's nothing wrong with the service in my area. The person also had me tell him the SIM card number to ensure they had the right one in their system, which they did.
After this, I figured it might still be because I'm running CM RC1 so I upgraded to RC3 and I"m still having the same issue.
T-Mobile's "my account" program is no longer set up, so I don't get the notification, but I still get the emergency calls message on the lock screen.
Also, I AM connected to the T-Mobile network, but it just won't recognize my phone.
I was wondering if anyone else had any insight...
Which radio are you using? Has it done this since upgrading from stock rom?
Yes I just had this similar issue yesterday and I'm on at&t. Also, everything on my N1 is stock.

I had the froyo radio but then I flashed the new Korean radio and it didn't help.
I did, however, pull out the old trusty G1 to have a working phone again. But when I started it up, it reported not having a sim card. Im going to go to tombile tomorrow to get them to test it. I'll report back in case someone else has the same issue.

You might try cleaning the SIM card contacts, they might be the culprit.
I went to T-Mobile and he confirmed it was the sim card. Actually he said it was fairly common for them to go bad. No charge and I'm working 100% now. Thanks!

I have not in my life seen a dead SIM card, it was a month ago that somebody was asking around the forums what and why. I was shocked
And T-Mobile says it's common.. lol wut?
Maybe the Nexus One eats them lol

Alright guys, I've had my Nexus One for about a week. It's running stock 2.3.4, but had same problem on 2.1 stock. If I try to do anything on my phone it does the damn reboot. But only on cell service. If I'm on wifi, I can't make it crash, reboot, or anything. It only does it when not on wifi. It's never been rooted or anything. Sometimes I even have to pull battery to get phone back. I've searched everywhere......
does a full data wipe solve your problem? //but whatever backup first before ever trying this.
Have you tried a new SIM card?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1203937
I have done several full wipes, cleared cache and data. Still same problem. My sim card is only a couple weeks old, and worked fine in my previous phone.
Stopped by AT&T and got a new sim card. Didn't change problem at all.

Have you been able to pull a log cat?
Been doing all kinds of trial and error. If sim card isn't in phone, no reboots at all. WTF??

Hi Everybody.
Well, i bought my Samsung Galaxy 6 months ago and it's a awesome phone, but now I've got some issues.
4 Months ago - My phone comes with froyo 2.2.1 so I decided to update it using kies to Gingerbread 2.3.3, after that, My phone starts to had some issues, first when I press the home button the phone didn't response, the screen was in black but I could get calls, messages and lisening to music, this was solved after reboot the phone but in any time could happen again.
Now - because the issue before, I decided to use Darky's rom 10.1 and the issue suddenly dissapear.
After 1 moth and a half I decided to flash Gingerbread 2.3.4 stock rom and a new issue appears and since there, I can't solve it.
Sometimes, my phone get lost its signal and when to "Network Selection" a message comes out "Insert Sim Card to access network services", I can't do any call o use 3g, the only way to solve it temporarily is rebooting the phone.
I use many versions (JVP, JVQ, JVR, even MIUI) but the issue still happen.
Please, I'd aprecciate if you can give some help to solve my problem.
Regards.

That's what I thought, but I changed my sim card when the problem began.
Should I change my sim card again?
Regards.
I think he meant changing a new sim card with the phone company?
Yes you should replace that sim card from your company.

ok, I'm going to chanche my NEW SIM CARD (becase it's new) for another one.
I hope this will solve my problem, I'll let you know if everything is ok or not.
Thanks.
I have just solved a similar problem with my Samsung Galaxy S I9003.
The reason was software unrelated but seemed to be a hardware connection problem. The phone was unable to access the mobile network showing a "No Service" status, also the IMEI number was unknown on the phone settings. The mobile wasn't even requesting the SIM Card code when it was turned on. But the rest of the services were working properly (wifi, bluetooth, etc).
Although i tried everything such as re-flashing, re-rooting and even IMEI restoration techniques such as in youtube "Samsung Galaxy S (IMEI Restoration Techniques)", I was unable to fix it.
The solution was to open the phone and just adjust the sim card slot connectors. I will keep the phone on testing to see if that happens again.
A couple of times a day I get a message saying "No SIM Card" and I lose all signal. It happens randomly and I need to go into airplane mode a few times for the phone to recognise the SIM again.
Is this a common problem? Is there a fix?

I used to get this on my hox, it turned out to be a hardware problem: improper fit of simtray, together with unibody flex. I would first get a new SIM and if the problems persist go for warranty
So I lost all info on my SIM card. No MEID, carrier info, phone number...everything. I kept getting a "no Sim card" "cannot connect to LTE". So I started messing around in my phone pushed buttons I shouldn't have and now I'm forced to do the one thing I don't ever do...ask you guys for help. I have been able to answer every question I've had by searching posts. Not this time. Can I pull the info for my sim card from a previous backup of my phone? If so, where would I find it and how and where would I place it in my phone to restore what I am missing?

Is it a sprint HTC one? If so, and your phone is running besides the SIM no detecting, I'd call into sprint and see if reprovisioning on their end would help...the SIM is strictly for the lye connection, it may have failed which if it did I believe you'd have to get a new one from sprint and have it linked to your account/phone in their system...I had similar situation except my issue was that a different SIM was linked to my account/phone which caused me to not have lte data til sprint changed to the CCID (a tech support rep will know what to do, it's a pain but it can be done) that was currently in my phone. Hope that helps. Let me know if that got ya somewhere.

Yes it is a sprint HTC One. I am going in tomorrow for a new SIM. I wonder if being rooted will be an issue? Guess we'll find out. I'll let you know if that fixed the issue.

New SIM card is in. My phone still will not connect. I am going to remove root flash back to stock and see what happens then...any suggestions? I was getting a process error (not responding) when I was trying to activate the phone.
