A user asked in reply "So how about Nexus 4?" And he said "already given up, I think Stock is better for Nexus 4"
And another user replied subsequently "Why you think Nexus 4 better stay stock? Is it because you want to reduce competition of Xiaomi MI-2?" he replied "If you don't think stock rom is good, why do you buy Nexus 4?"
and he also said in another post:
"Adoptation of MIUI on third party devices are based on their active user count within China. We believe stats from Baidu and Taobao. And we also support some local brand quality phone with fewer user base because of our love on Chinese local phone. They may not buy Xiaomi for some purpose, but as far as they buy quality Chinese phone, they are user of MIUI. MIUI 4 ran pretty bad but on Galaxy Nexus
Miui is smoother than stock AOSP 4. anything to me. Just try it out it's crazy how smooth the transitions are comparably

Well, if you ask me, this thread is insignificant. No offence at all.
MIUIAndroid mako builds are being taken seriously by Mark. He never abandons anything that he has already started and so is in the case of N4.
We don't need to worry, once Mark sets out the word that his builds are stable enough with every App and feature working, Xiaomi will surely consider it in :good:
The nexus 4 beta roms are being posted at miui along with 48 other devices, so its not completely unsupported. My personal experience is the ROM is very smooth and performs really well. And there are a number of efforts on this from itself, at last count 3 threads in the dev forum on miui roms.
The latest 3.6.13 posted gets around 17250 on antutu stock and is buttery smooth. The one by Soul_Raider on this forum is also excellent and extremely smooth. Most of the bugs have been fixed. Its definitely worth trying.

Same thoughts here. But only thing I'm really missing - full working miui camera app. Stock google cam, kinda out of overall design(

Can anyone elaborate more on the work of individual developers regarding this rom?
I do not understand the players in this game. what does Xiomi develope? and what does Mark and others developing? how do they use Xiomi work?
I really love MIUI (back from the days of S1) but i want to know development is not going to stop on this before i install it.

that was from a month ago. at the 8th post here last week: http://miuiandroid.com/community/threads/xiaomi-in-2013.19134/ one of their staff said to vote so I don't think its guaranteed yet.

It's a source device so I have no doubt that n4 will get miui official support.
MIUI gave new life to my old HTC Desire when I got tired of Sense.
I doubt I'll be using MIUI on my new N4, but if the time comes when I want to have MIUI, I'd like it to be as polished and as stable as the one on my HTC Desire.
So better start development early.

Nice to have more ROMs and I actually like the MIUI design but I'd rather stick to a more open ROM with my Nexus.

Voted. I used MIUI on my SGS2 and found that it had some really cool and innovative features not found on other ROMs. I also liked the overall design. A bit iOS like, but more minimal. I'm excited to see what they'll do in the future and I'll probably try it again sometime, although I'm a fan of the pure Google experience.
This isn't going anywhere. Kinda disappointing actually.

Wich chinese holiday are we talking about..? there are many.. And if it was the January one.. we shouldve have MIUI by now. If they mean after the "Spring Festival"... we are not gonna see this before 10th of Febuary.

Go for mi-2 if you want to be stuck with miui, as xiaomi didn't released kernel sources. S3 will give you more freedom in roms to choose from
But level performance the mi2 is more strong than the Samsung galaxy s3, and more low level of price.

maybe it is, but you can't install anything else than miui on it, because there is no other rom for this phone... why don't you try nexus 4? it have really great dev support (better than s3) and is cheaper than s3

Yeah true, The development for Nexus , S3 etc. is much more vast and great ROMs like Parandroid, MIUI, CM10 everything is available. :thumbup:

I think 3-4 months is still early for Nexus 5. AFAIK Google's been always keeping about 11 months time gap b/w new Nexus....so in my view it'll take some time.
But still who knows what's Google planning.
I'm also in mood of buying Nexus ( 4 ) but part of me wants to wait for Nexus 5.

The best reasons why i prefer the Xiaomi MI2S is the ration price/performance/quality and the xiaomi is the best after what i saw.

Yeah, but it's really closed source. I like MI2S is because the price, you can overclock a Nexus 4 to get processor performance like MI2S.

but with no tweak you get better performance as a nexus 4 overclocked, which can be broked.
So if i compare the Nexus 4 and the Xiaomi MI2-S without hesitation i take xiaomi.

I'd like to see this working, but the last phone I owned that had a fully functional, non-buggy MIUI rom was the Samsung Fascinate back in 2011. Every other phone I've owned since then (roughly 6-7 devices) have had buggy, incomplete and/or barely usable MIUI roms. As much as I hate to say it, I feel like MIUI's time has come and gone.

Hmm I never really ran into crazy bugs. The biggest issue is lack of device support, it can be a major pain the ass to get them to work on new devices.
It took forever for them to release for the nexus 4 but when they did it was pretty solid.
I hope they do release a build just so i can give it a shot, probably not a daily driver.

I'm a Chinese and I have talked with one of MIUI's employers this morning.
MIUI will officially support Nexus7(2013) running 4.4.X in the future but it will take a few months before official release. (I guess it's because of their MiPad)
Nexus 5 is not on the support list right now. (Sun Peng is always bluffing on Weibo) (And Nexus4's MIUI is supported by developers rather than MIUI)
MIUI will not release 4.4.x patchrom in the near future because only few devices running KitKat now.
So, I don't think there will be a MIUI patchrom for 4.4.X before Feb.

Yep, same here. I think the last bug free version of MIUI I ever experienced was the Virgin Mobile LG Optimus V, lol!
Then again, this is the first Nexus device I've owned after owning the S2 and S4, and I must say that this device is so much easier to mod than any other device, so we'll see.

True. Honestly though, even a perfect MIUI rom isn't going to have a place on my phone. It was great back in the Gingerbread days since stock Android wasn't really "there" yet, but I don't see what kind of advantage it could really offer over stock KitKat. In particular, I see the lack of an app drawer as a major hindrance at this point. My homescreen setup has gotten more and more efficient over the years (I'm down to 2 home screens + GNow). The last thing I want now is to have all of my apps puked out on a zillion homescreens and then try to organize it all. I realize I can use another launcher, but to me that kind of defeats the purpose of flashing MIUI in the first place.

MIUI was amazing when everything was working and fully stable. I loved it to death on my HTC Evo 4g a couple years ago. It'll be a good multiboot rom

I had it on my s4 too but it was laggy and gps didnt work right and also some other stuff i dont remember but if the dev fixed them, then my bad

With note 2 miui was the only ROM that was lag free, especially when turning off the screen with CRT animation, it was the only ROM that was smooth...but not even comparable with stock n5

I'm wondering if there's any aosp roms in development for the note been eagerly waiting for like a cm 12 rom or something but nothing yet. I'm seeing the galaxy s4,5 and note 3 getting their cm 12 roms so maybe the note 4 one soon comes?
Practically every device has it except us.
Developers are waiting until we get the Official 5.0 update to do any CM, AOSP, etc.
Aosp is booting on our device already. Its being fine tuned. Soon

I have a oneplus one right now... A little afraid to leave it behind and go to the note 4. I love having CM12 or AOSP on my phone... Don't know if I can go to touchwiz. lol!

And of course camera will just be basic, it's just the point of having the option to flash it is what I dig about samsung. I'm the minority Samsung fanboy, but doesn't mean I don't like some cm or aosp based Roms just to mix it up.
Ok - I'm not a big camera guy anyway... But it's a toss up between this or a nexus 6... But I love having a removable battery... The 1+1 just isn't cutting it for me right now...

Or just get a new phone seeing as the Nexus 4 is over 3 years old now...I'd wait until 5.1 comes out and then see how it goes but there is always going to be issues supporting old hardware with new OS's

Least expensive solution is to clean flash the 4.3 factory image and profit! And don't even move to kitkat. Seriously, not kidding.

Why don't you post your problems in the thread that already exists for discussing Android 5.x?
Official 5.1 will make our beloved Nexus 4 fly like never before. Battery life may also improve some of course. Can't wait!
