[Q] unlocked xperia but still doesn't work - XPERIA X8 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I have unlocked xperia x8 but it won't work with other sim cards. S1 tools shows "2r small as it should show as phone unlocked, but if i try insert new card it cant connect to the network. anyone can help ? :crying: i used msm7227 to unlock and if i try semtools it shows it is allready unlocked, I want apologize if it is already answered but i searched forum and nothing helped.

msm7227? is it the bootloader you've unlocked?
Just because i don't doesn't mean i can't.

Flash stock 2.1 and lock bootloader, everything will be fine.. You have probably used wrong file or you have simlock.

[Q] Did it work for you - X8 sim unlock?

Ok, I saw many people asking how to unlock our X8 on all networks and I tried it on four Xperia X8 phone's and it's true, bootloader unlock succesfully unlocked X8 on all SIM cards. Yes, it asks for SIM Unlock code but I've just pressed dismiss button and it connected succesfully on other networks. I've unlocked bootloader with Flashtool v 0.5.3 and it worked on all (2.1, 2.2 &2.3) ROM's. Please try it and answer if you've succesfully unlocked your phone.

I have T-mobile locked X8.
I try to put VIP SIM card but it just won't connect to network. when I manually select VIP I get some massage. don't remember what exactly, but about forbidden network or something like that.
So I guess you are just lucky, cause it doesn't work for me.

The only time i have ever seen this is on phones that already have sim unlock. When you turn on your phone on a sim free phone which already had been unlocked it asks (EVERY TIME) to enter your network unlock code even do its already unlocked to all networks. The flash tool doesn't unlock your network

I l 'I unlocked the flashtool but I signal with a single operator ... why?
Oh,
I just realized what you wanted to say.
Bootloader can be unlocked with flashtool and, if done so, SIM unlocks too.
That's a huge thing, and should be made sticky, if so.
and what about us that unlocked bootloader before?
do we have to reflash stock kernel and relock bootloader? or can we just try to unlock with flashtool already unlocked bootloader?
I don't need my SIM unlocked now, but it would be nice to know. So, if somebody tries it please post how you did it.
I unlocked my bootloader (With msm7227), but its not sim unlocked. I have a custom kernel and custom rom, but still can't use my phone.
Any ideas?
sorry If I open this thread lot of months later, How can i unlock bootloader of this x8 with flashtool? these are the features of flashtool
Flash original Images (Android 1.6, 2.1, 2.3 Images)
Root your phone
Install Recovery, Busybox, custom kernels
Clean your Rom (remove /system/apps apps of your choice) (Be careful, unless you really know what you do, do not modify the default list. This can make your phone stuck at the SE Logo)
Clear dalvik cache
Optimize (install of JIT v2) (Disabled in 0.4, will readd it as a plugin for 2.1 phones only)
Customize (installs apps found in the custom/apps folder of the flashtool)
Clean uninstalled (remove any references to system apps removed in the Clean (root needed) step)
Edit any text file on the device
Rebrand your device

Which one is for me? Thank you!
1. connect phone to pc
2. enable debugging
3. you must have latest flashtool
4.launch flashtool
5. go to "Plugins" at top and click unlock bootloader.
Good luck!
Or you can go on yt and search for 2011matej in channels and find my profile. There is my video how to unlock bootloader with flashtool:good:

[Q] bootloader unlocked or not?

First sorry for some bad english...
A few months ago i unlocked my x8 bootloader and used custom kernels / roms without any problem... Now I have the need to have my x8 sim unlocked... I tried another SIM and he run but without network signal. I used then SE Pc companion to restore it to factory in order to use PLASMA S TOOL to unlock it. It went good. Now, after a few days I cant wait to use custom kernels again, but i have some questions...
S1 tool gives the information "RUNNING S1_EROM VER "r8A029"", but in the end "NOT RECOGNIZED SIM LOCK CERTIFICATE".
Is bootloader unlocked?
Is there a chance of the phone become SIM locked again?
Thanks in advance...

There is no way to install cm with locked bl. If ur sim is loocked, u will have to buy the unlock code and unlock it. You cannot unlock bl wit h sim locked. You can buy code here. If you dont want to buy the code, you can install custom roms based on original sony firmware.
