GS3 Just like Glass Screen Protector on HTC one help - Sprint HTC One (M7)

I have a "new" Just like Glass Screen protector for a GS3 that was stuffed away on my desk. Now that I have the HTC one as of this weekend I want to use it for temp protection until I find and order something else.
Now my question is, can I cover the soft keys with this or do i need to cut it so its covers just above the soft key?. Asking becuase I saw another thread where some other screen protecters (Sgp GLASt) were not working with the soft keys. And as said.... this is just a temp protection for my construction trade before I order the correct fitting SP. I need to place the SP on now before work tomorrow

You can cover the whole screen the buttons will work

Thanks. Thats All I need to know :good:
Thread can be closed and sunk to the bottom of the sea

The reports of the capacitive buttons not working where for devices before the update. My One is covered with the sp that came with my otter box and I think it had even enhanced the sensitivity. BTW I work for UPS like you I also needed the extra protection.

Let me answer your question this way ...
I never put any display protection foil on the X8.
Since I'm a Android user, and now allow me to pull a analogy to a iPhone related story, I'm not brain-dead enough to stuff my phone into the pockets of my pants together with the car-/house keys (was actually a story about Steve Jobs doing exactly that and then throwing a fit at the engineers because - lo-and-behold! - his iPhone had scratches; who would've thought that!?).
I only used a pouch for the X8 while I had it in any of my pockets - and the same goes for my SGS Galaxy S II ... inside a fitting pouch when running around with it.
Not a single scratch on the X8, not a single scratch on the SGS S2, not a single scratch on my tablets.
I have been using the same proctection sticker that came on it from the box and always kept it in a lether pouch witch I bought in the same place and time where I bought my phone. its been a year - only the red cover seems to loose it shining.
I used a screen protector for a month, but when it became dirty and whit that air blebs, I remove it and then I realise.. oh my screen is awesome and never back to screen protectros. My right pocket is own by my X8, nothing else.
Surpirisingly, I put my X8 in my pocket with coins and it doesn't get scratched! xD
And do you use protective foil cover?

I have a gel case for my x8. I used to have screen protector. But I took it off and realised that my phone looks better without screen protector. It is in my pocket with my wallet my keys (may I remind you I am a kid not an adult its just I got my house keys cuz I went to secondly school and I come home earlier) and maybe some coins. I don't have a scratch. I don't use any foil either

Screen protector covering front camera

Hi guys
My front facing camera always looks very fuzzy and I suspect its bcos my screen protector is covering it. Just wondering if anyone else has the same problem and/or knows how to cut a hole in the screen protector specially for the camera?
Thanks in advance
Sent from my LG-P970 using xda app-developers app
woot~ maybe look for one with the hole already? I bought it that way for like 5 dlls at a local store, it has the hole for camera and another one like "L" for the sensors
I already checked if a clear screen protector interrupts the front camera and the answer is no. But I found out that a mirror/matte screen protector really interrupts the front camera..
You can find on ebay many good screen protectors for a few dollars.
Thks gonna go search for it now

Actl you don't need one...the gorilla glass is holding out well for me since I removed the screen protector few weeks ago. Everything on the screen seems much crisper too
Sent from my LG-KU5900 using xda premium
Oh actually gorilla glass is quite weak against sand and coins, anyway I got the matte one but had to cut out the hole for the camera myself. ..

But I don't go to the beach nor put my coins in the same pocket lol. And btw doesn't the matte screen protector make everything on the screen look fuzzy?

Otterbox defender screen protector!

We all know it's defective, I removed, I put my own, but now the case is a little too flexible? Anybody have a fix for this? And when revision 2 ever comes out, will we get a chance to exchange ours?

Where the protector was actually glued to the plastic top housing piece, use a thin strip of foam tape (preferably 3m) all the way around about a 1/10th of an inch from the edge. The foam will sit between the top piece of the case and your phone.
Basically you are replacing the thickness of the glue + screen protector that helped keep the case nice and tight. It also helps to keep dust out of the case.
Even if the foam tape is 1/4 of a inch thick, it has a lot of give when pressed.
Thanks for help, appreciate it!

What is the cutting down the button nonsense? Mine works fine.
The screen protector works no differently than they did before or than that on the lifeproof...not getting all of the complaints. ..if one chooses to remove it so be it.. not really validation for the complaint imo

some users report the button sticking and to fix it you can cut down the material, probably isnt a problem with everyone.
My power button was fine. I just didn't like the gap between the screen protector. Felt weird. I had the phantom case for the s3 and it didn't have that. But we all can't get what we want.

I wouldn't remove the screen protector on the Otterbox Defender, although the pressure sensitivity of the S-pen is highly questionable.

A new screen...but seriously, the only way I know of requires power tools and buffing out the scratches. Essentially ya gotta polish the glass until it is smooth. Unless you're skilled with your hands or can get a new screen if you screw up, you're better off just getting a new screen and getting a screen protector.
You might be able to hide it with a screen protector. It really depends on the size of the scratch.
I know ghost armor screen protectors hide most scratches unless it's real bad. And you can't even tell you have one.

G2 quickwindow cases on clearance for 14.99 @ best buy

Went into best buy mobile yesterday at our mall and they had the quickwindow cases down to 14.99, from 49.99. Picked one up, nice and thin and protects the front too. The window apps are nice too. Just a heads up in case you're looking for one.

I remembering reading once that the silver trim of the quickwindow would sit directly on the screen and overtime scratch it. Could you observe if this is true?

I heard that too but my friend has the quickwindow case and put a screen protector on the main screen which solved any scratching problems.

I purchased a used G2 off of criaglist that came with the quickwindow case. Upon first glance, you don't notice it. But after going outside and turning the screen at certain angles, you can definitely see some very fine surface scratching on the screen where the trim meets the glass. No matter how much I cleaned the screen, it didn't go away. So yes, it definitely scratches the screen over time. Now, I put a screen protector on it (which the previous owner didnt), and you can't see the scratches anymore. However, the silver trim started scratching the screen protector too. So now I just use a completely different case.
I can confirm that, bought mine for 3-5€ on ebay (because I wanted the blue one) and after a month I noticed tiny scratches when holding the phone under the sun. I'm not using the case anymore, well I should have, shattered the screen a week ago :silly:, but when I return it from repair
I try to fix the case by sticking something more smooth on the metal rim, but I still don't have any idea what would do the trick without looking too bad.
i don't recommend it. scratched my screen..
