Stamina Mode in Xperia T - shame on u Sony - Sony Xperia T, TL, TX, V

so after update to JB Xperia P has got Stamina mode like in Xperia Z and Xperia T still doesnt?

I don't understand why people are so butt hurt over not having stamina mode.
We have the exact same thing 'extended standby mode' except it's not a fancy graphic... Just a gimmick anyway nothing is different.

I dont really miss it either. Extended standby is great enough, when i dont have my charger with me at night i use extended standby and my battery only goes down 1-2%.

Turn your 3G off, same result. Jesus there are much worse issues, random reboots, bootloaders permanently locked for some unlucky users (me). Every high end phone I use I see a shame on devs who worked hard for months on strict guidelines and crap pay thread wah wah. There will be minor issues with any phone. When you get a bigger fault like my rebooting or the partition error that causes some iconia b1s to brick themselves after software upgrade then complain. Until then buy an iPhone and shut up

yes, there are wakelocks from google services and android system, which you can not get rid off (at least I was desperately trying...)..you get it with all Sony Custom ROMs and all kernels, but also with CM and its derivates like MIUI...
It is mainly Alarm Manager (nothing to do with clock!) and Event Log Service...there are dozens of threads around the forums here, but nothing helped to solve the issues...maybe someone knows a solution

Google can be reduced by turning off "backup my data" and auto sync. As for android system those are necessary functions and it will always be there, the amount it drains depends on the efficiency of both the ROM and the parts (radio etc) in the device. Same goes for mobile standby, except this can be reduced by having 3G off. Basically don't use functions/apps you don't need, that's the only way to save battery

that's not the issue - I know how to save battery. My point: even if you stop all syncs, delete all data-apps, which might be rogue, stop all backup data stuff, maps connecting to Inet, etc. you still have draining the battery by these wakelocks! That's the first and only device I use (besides 2 Sammy Phones and one HTC device), where you can not stop wakelocks!

Same with the galaxy mini. Its just that cheap designs have parts that don't perform as well, but performance demands juice so the armv6 single core qvga/hvga designs with weak radios inherently use less power anyway, plus the roms are less bloated because of space issues. And yeah, way off topic, even if it does have some relevance

Is samsung gonna fix the bug on 4.0.4 or what?

Hi fellas,
Im just wondering is there any fix on 4.0.4?
I mean the battery issues and overheated device? Cuz im thinking of rooting my device in the end to just giving it a try. But it will void the warrany for sure. So, just wanna know if any of ya all just happen to know if thers any fix coming out real soon. So that i can wait.
It seems that my device is now consider as useless piece of s...t just wondering why would i want to use this so called smartphone if i cant use live wallpaper, push email, screen brightness for my luvly super amoled screen and so on if it drains the battery like thirsty camel. It just a thought tho.... U guy might be thinking the same. So, i did all the the things like calibrating the batt, installed cpuspy, take out the batt on plane mode trick and so on.. , yes it did help the device to sleep. But it drains when im using it for 3 hrs with a lil bit of surfing, emails and sketching .it just doesnt make any sense at all.
Dont you guy think that samsung is trying to lure us to change to s3? Or note 2? Well it did cross my mind. Lol. i might not consider samsung in the near future. I guess, htc x one is my choice cuz it offers 6hrs batt. Hehehe

dude battery life with screen on in clean condition, without fancy stuff is only 3.5 hours. Some with other kernels/roms have reported 4 or even 5 hours, but that's really max
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
It is a power hungry phone,
Large screen - If you've got your brightness all the way up will use more power
Live Wallpaper - Pretty - Battery drainer
Games - Power hungry
etc
As mentioned - you cannot expect to use a phone like this for 8/9/10 hours with constant use, At 3 hours constant use, screen on, probs wi-fi / data, Gaming, listening to music.. you will see the battery drain quicker..
Could alsways pick up a one of those larger Mugen Power Batteries / second stock battery if your usage demands it... I've got two stock batteries but the actual amount of times I've need to call on the backup one is rare, I keep it handy as both me and my girlfriend have GNote's.

Well then there are ways to analyse, as posted above for abnomal battery drain in deepsleep, when not using phone. That is one option.
Best guess is to do a full clean install of 404 by going to gb through pc odin, root it, get on cwm recovery, wipe cache, dalvik cache, backup efs, save pictures on computer, backup messages with app from play, sync contacts to gmail and then backbin recovery format everything in mounts, except efs, ofcourse.
Then phone wont boot, but is truly squicky clean. Then go into download mode and flash throught oc odin a stock 404 rom.
Do not recover apps/data, just manually redownload them.
Dont ever on unsafe kernel from stock ics do these steps. EVER!
Then download cwm. zip which is temp and flash speedmod k3-11 from recovery. I bet your battery life will improve and you will get 4 hours screen on time. Not as good as on gb,but still better then now
there are threads for every single step here, start in dr ketans thread in sticky section of development. Then tool thread of dr ketan in general section.
disclaimer: you can and will lose data and possibly warrantee

Anyways, those six hours is not with screen on all the time.
Doing the steps I mentioned however will force a full clean install. Then test without restoring apps battery, you will be amazed. Then install in batches or one by bone to eliminate possible culprit that impacts battery life.
Perhaps even better to go to samsung/shop where you bought and ask them to fix it If it is battery they will catch it and replace Less risk for you

Obtained this info from another thread:
about the alarm_rtc wakelock;
install terminal emulator from market and type these commands:

- dumpsys alarm ( followed by ENTER )
it will dump some info on your screen
scroll upwards a bit and search for 'Alarm Stats'
here you can find the processes that keep your phone from deep sleep

Battery burning super fast?

Whilst I have been having the screen on, it shouldn't be burning this fast and it certainly didn't use to. 23 minutes on battery and 20% burned?
Did you install a new rom or new kernel? You can install an app like BetterBatteryStats to check out what might be causing this battery drain.

Stock ROM 4.0.4 and have never rooted or flashed anything on before. It is completely stock and unaltered in every way. All I've done is install apps. It just seems to have been a little bad recently. I have BetterBatteryStats on, but the it isn't wakelocks. As I said, I've got the screen on consistently so the phone will always be awake. It is just that 20% in that amount of time seems really high, even for constant use, and I swear it didn't use to be that bad. I've installed Juice Defender because it tends to be good in how it managers network and WiFi. So far, things seem to be stabilising. But, I still want to know what can cause such sharp drainage...
Do you have a lot of apps running in the background? This is most likely the cause. Brightness is a big issue also. Flash a kernal!

Check that you have Auto-brightness enabled. Also, I found that certain apps can drain battery big time. I agree with checking via a battery stats program. Maybe an APP is running in the background causing the cpu to stay at max speed?

Totally agree. Before I root my Note to delete some unuse apps from stock 4.0.4, the battery drains very fast. The most reason is some apps running in the background.
Did you change your sim recently? Sometimes the culprit is sim card.

Not fixes, but suggestions:
- An app like Green Power will stop data usage when screen off
- As others said, look into your display. My favourite app is Display Brightness as it adds an invisible slider on your screen
- For some reason, Chrome in the last week began to EAT my phone. I uninstalled it and I'm back to a blessed 1% an hour drain

You may have to check your battery. Will it be hot when you are using it? Look at your battery, does it look "fat"? It happened once to me before, after changing a new battery. It's fine now. It was caused by overcharging it during the night.
I experienced it on my previous phone, now im going to prove it again in my note because i changed my sim recently and now i cannot achieved the 5 hrs i had before that my original sim card, best phone can do now is 3.5 hrs. xperia z battery issues

Hi all
I'm new to android and am having some major issues with my Sony New xperia z.
First off stamina mode is simply not working. It did to start but it's now not changing the expected battery life when toggled on and off. That's just the start though.
Battery life had been absolutely terrible. I have been deliberately stopping myself from using the handset just so I can make it through the day.
I have come from an iPhone 4 and am quite a heavy user normally, my battery always lasted well beyond one day. New I know the screen and processor on this are awesome but I'm literally not going to be able to use any apps or anything if this is the true battery life.:crying:
I noticed that android os was taking the majority of my battery for just if today, screen has since taken over since I got in because I've been searching the net for potential answers.
Android services is up there as well. I installed a battery checker to see if my phone is but going into deep sleep for some reason and found that there had been something like 3000 wakelocks since last charge (unplugged this morning). I'm now down to 3% after about 13.5 hours since unplugged.
Screenshot was from before I started writing this post.
Any help please. If this isn't some sort of bug/fixable errorI might have to see about returning this phone!
Is this amount of wake locks normal? How can I tell what's stopping my phone from sleeping? I'm new to android other than my nexus 7 which had always been amazing in terms of battery.
Thanks all
John

I have downloaded gsam - its how I knew there were over 3000 wakelocks but to be honest I've found it all a bit baffling. I'm pretty sure something's happening in the background when it shouldn't be but its like trying to find a needle in a haystack - I'm not sure what processes are what, and what parts of the system should be doing certain things anyway... Does that make sense?
Its dead now, so using my nexus 7 instead. I'll charge tonight, use as normal and monitor it tomorrow. Is there anything I could post from gsam up here that you genius's could help me out with? I bow to your mightier wisdom and plead for help!!! I love my new handset but this is leaving a real sour taste and my excitement and joy of leaving iOS behind me is waning!
Should I use it without stamina mode tomorrow and see if that improved things? Or should I use it as I did today?!
Thanks again everyone for your help.
Maybe you can upload app usage screen and kernel wakelocks.
Reboot ur phone 2 3 times ant Try it tomorrow without stamina mode

Xperia V - Huge battery drain (Google Services)

My Xperia V was draining much battery while sleeping, so yesterday I flashed cm-10.1.3-RC2 hoping it could get better.
But it's still draining almost 30% in a period of 8 hours, while I'm sleeping.
I can notice a huge drain caused by Google Services and have already greenified some apps.
It can't be normal, right?! Could someone help me?
Despite this problem, now I have a really better smartphone... So, thank FXP and, please, keep supporting Xperia V.

Not sure if this question belongs to be an own thread...but ok. here we go.
from my experience with Cm i can tell you, if you want better battery life, then you maybe should use a stock firmware!
I used CM and AOKP some weeks before, but the battery drain wasnt normal, not to say horrible.
But this is my experience. You should ask in your CM-Rom Thread, or CM Q/A Thread i think.
I'm a new member and I couldn't ask this in CM thread
I understood what you've said, but even using stock rom I was having that percentage of draining at night...
Do you have a Xperia V?
Could you (or someone else) tell me how much draining is considered normal in the period I've mentioned before?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
30% in 8 hours means that on average your battery will last a day.
That is perfectly normal.
Also, if you keep flashing stuff and installing apps then it drains battery quicker. Leave it alone for a week and see if it settles down.
Sorry, i have a Xperia T.
in the xperia T thread of tilals unofficial CM build (development section) someone mentions also such problems:

Omg, my Galaxy s3 loses only 2% in the same period while sleeping, it's a BIG difference
I had been facing this problem since I bought this phone (2 months ago), that's why I tried to flash CM yesterday... So, I think that nothing will change if I just wait...
Anyway, thank you guys...

apologies, I didn't see that it was 8 hours while you were asleep. That is not right. But it may be because its working hard after a flash. Please leave it for a while and it should settle, or install better battery stats app (Free on xda) and see whats keeping the phone awake.

are u using Xperia V?
my XV drain ~ 30% in the stock firmware
Mavhia, can you notice an unusual consume from google services?
Good to know that this isn't happening only with my phone.

Some screenshots.
The graphs show another problem: it is like the phone just know that lost some battery when I turn on the screen.
For example: if I leave the phone with 95%, it pass the hole night "thinking" it has this value, but when I turn on the screen the battery instantly loses around 15%, this "fast drain" stabilizes when it reaches the "real percentage".
Could it be a hardware problem? The battery itself...
Has already someone noticed something similar?

Can be the MSM_HSIC_HOST kernel wakelock that is causing your battery drain..
im using 3g all the time and i dont have problems i think u were using your phone differently so you cant compare battery life
There is some strange issue with 4.3 firmware. I've incredible battery drain too.
In early versions i get full one day usege with 3g only network and 3 exchange mail account on push mail settings. Now, nearly 6 hr, and battery low alert.
Realized fast dormacy, disabled for my network, did not solved. Totally uninstalled fast dormacy stiil same. Exchange servise drains all the time.
There is no much wake lock in battery log, there is no special application that drains, but still, like phone does not get in deep sleep state. I dont have and horizontal line in battery stats.
Most of people says, battery is better then before, but most of them do not use phone like me.
Seriously, i consider to revert back 4.2.2
Ps, i even tried to factory default. That was pain in my a.s. because of installing applications and made settings. Still i dont have proper solution.

Stock kernel is so simple developed and doesn't have any real power saving functions at all. Just like Sony throwed some kernel coding together and didn't really test it at all on anything else than stability..
My opinion is this.. Using stock / Advanced stock kernel is like demanding battery issues for free.

can you help me with rooting and installing a new kernel ? ive 4.3 as i said and i don't know the status of my boot-loader either
Well I've noticed that after a rather short amount of time, a lot of ram is being used and the battery drain is enormous!
Never had so heavy battery issues, even.with different kernels and Roms.
Now.completely on stock and wow.. @ work.for 12 hours, no usage at all, battery dropped from 100% to 36% and energy options telling me that ANDROID OS used 59% THE WHOLE TIME

If you don't know your status of bootloader, most likely it's locked. You can unlock it if your bootloader unlock is allowed. And there's no custom kernel for 4.3 yet.

Better go back to 4.2.2 until Sony got time to fix their disaster of 4.3 release!
