if you go to the service menu on your z, the customization is listed as row (as opposed to jp). No idea what this stands for. Assumedly its something to do with the generic US version
yes it is real. Created from SUS package and flashtool

Er... which "service menu" do you mean? How do I get there?
And by the way: This firmware has not the added feature of a NSA backdoor, hasn't it?

In the contacts option page, hold down the blank space abpve the status bar for about five seconds. A button will appear. This will lead to a dialer. In the dialer, enter *#*#7378423#*#*. You'll then enter the service menu.
And no. Lol

Downgraded to .344, flashing with Flashtool 0.9.11.0, rooted with this, kept root with OTA RootKeeper (just in case, don't know if needed) and upgraded via OTA from tablet to .370.
Thank you all!

Great! by the way i didn't use OTA RootKeeper, also try to mount /system as RW that's the only one with problems, in my case the tablet reboots. I found a way to bypass this a little lol, but before to post the solution i want to see if you have the issue.

Hi, this is a stock 4.0.2.A.0.42 global generic rom. This rom is only for people with locked bootloader facing the 0% battery issue!. There is absolutely no reason to use it in other circumstances.
The battery workaround used is 100% compatibile with Bazoocaze's fix - you can use apks, debug entries and all. Don't forget to thank him for the great work.
This package is for Linux only!. If you know how to create .bat files or manually use adb, you sholdn't have problems using it in Windows too. If anyone's willing to prepare Windows package, feel free to do so
HOWTO:
Download and unpack the ROM files.
Step1 Flash Arc_step1_step1.ftf via Flashtool. Turn on the phone afterwards.
Step2 Phone will get stuck on green SE logo - it's okay! Open a console and execute ./step2 which roots the phone and installs battery hack. If there are errors, killall adb and try again. Turn off the phone.
Step3 Flash Arc_step3_step3.ftf via Flashtool. Turn on the phone.
LT15i_4.0.2.A.0.42_lockedBL_battery.7z
Cheers,
z
and the great one is back from hibernation
this time in Xperia 2011 territory!!!
oh boy good times ahead!!!
thank you Z!
@ALL
you will still need to download the complete package from z's post...
attached is a windows version for STEP2:

i have just modified my EasyRootingToolkit package to make it push the additional files for this workaround...
i havent checked it so it would be great if someone can test it out on windows and let me know...
download the attached file and at STEP2
(the device should be in USB debugging mode for this to work)
just execute the runme.bat and follow the instructions
the device will reboot but just turn off the device after its rebooted
And hope more
Good to see you here Z

Working great on Xperia arc build 4.0.2.A.0.42
Thanks a lot man, for the work and all !!
Thank you Zdzihu, Bazoocaze and DooMLoRD for your efforts. Thanks to your combined work my arc is back from its box where I have left it since October.
what about Xperia Neo ? There is a patch for locked bootloaders?
hi, when i am going to use the doomlord .bat the console told me that the adb is out of date and can't change anything
EDIT: found the error, just need to close the flashtool before step2
I did it on windows.Solved the 0% issue. After locking bootlander and flashing step 1 do not try the step 2 root.Instead do the step 3 flashing. Then boot phone turn on DEBUGGING and tick UNKNOWN SOURSES.Then install the step2-DooMLoRD_v4_ROOT-zergRush-busybox-su-batterydriver (1).zip and leave the cmd window on as u switch on the phone and press any key with cmd window on .Rooting takes place as the phone turns on.If u root after the phone has turned on fully, the phone dies in the middle of the root. After that install FuelGaugeFixV16.apk and u will start seeing the actual battery % too.U R DONE.ENSOI-----FROM MAK.Please reply and tell me if it has worked

Also if you could possibly pull the update that'd be great. Have to be rooted to pull it though.

I give up now I will get a update one day. 1 way or another my RAZR I will be updated.
And truth is that although I have moaned about the update the RAZR I on 4.0.4 is still very fast and smooth and the only thing I don't like about the RAZR I is no toggle switches in the notification drop down as a result I always have to go to my home screen. Network doesn't matter. It's a rolling update going by whatever Motorola pleases.
Wiping data was the best way to make sure you lose whatever was pushed to your device. Not going to find it again until its pushed to everyone.

I don't think you can add traditional speed-dials to dialling keys by long-pressing - it doesn't work for me - but surely "Starred Contacts" (one swipe to the right of the dialler) makes speed dial redundant? If you want one-touch dialling to specific numbers, you can always add direct dial shortcuts to your homescreen or in a folder via Homescreen Longpress>Apps>Shortcuts>Direct dial.

For some ppl this is disabled inside the phonebook.apk (that is the one responsible for the dialer, semcphone.apk comes in after you push the green 'dial' button).
Anyways, if this is still important to the OP and others, pls post the phonebook.apk from system/app and i will uplode a mod of it with the enabled speeddial thing, it will take under 10 mins to do =)

Hey guys, so I need help in gaining root access on my phone.
I followed this guys guide to getting to rooting ( under 10 posts, but yeah I followed a youtuber by the name of Qbking77 ), and it was good!,,, Until I used 2 root checkers and they said I don't actually have root access!
Right now I have twrp installed, an unlocked bootloader, and a phone sim locked to sprint and my main goal is to unlock it for a canadian carrier and root it to run custom roms.
I'm even willing to fork out some coffee money if someone can help me out here!
Feel free to ask me questions if you need to know more about my phone, and thanks in advance guys !

Does anyone know what update this is? System preferences doesn't have any updates available, but I woke up to it this morning. Running 4.4 rooted via slapmymoto and wondering if it's safe to take.

had to change your link to http. Otherwise there isn't very much info to go on. What phone do you have exactly? Moto x gsm, carrier version?
Edit: Ok, verizon version. I have exact same system build and kernel, except i have an extra "Verizon" in system version.
I would take the update if it was me. What could it hurt?

Pull the ota and uploaded to gdrive or drop box share link. Follow instructions on this thread to find ota since you have root. But don't take the ota because you will lose root and might not get it back.

I guess it might be a false notification. Since there's no file in your cache. Thanks for trying, if you find anything please keep us updated.
