Firstly, the title rhymes. I could be a poet.
Secondly, I was just wondering if there are any other DJs on XDA. It'd be cool to share tracks and stuff.
So here's my DJ introduction. I go by the name, DJ Ra1n. I spin Happy Hardcore and UK Hardcore. But I sometimes do electro house, house, trance and Dubstep. I currently own 2 Pioneer CDJ-1000s, a Pioneer DJM-800 along with a Rane SL 1 along with Serato Scratch Live and Pioneer HDJ-1000s.
Hopefully I get some replies. I'll post some links to my mixes once I get 10 posts (sadly enough)
I am DJ Tentoes.... why? Because I have ten toes
"I didn't slap you, I high fived your face"
I'm DJ edZup..... Progressive House and Trance is my flavour!
Just a bedroom DJ..... for the love of music and mixsets.
Generally, my sound is Progressive House & Trance with Vocal elements though I sometimes like to experiment with other genres. I play more uplifting progressive house late in my sets and throwing in some electro and the occasional classic from time to time.
Can't post links, but google "DJ edZup house-mixes" you will find my mixes.
Peace n Beatz
Forgot to add, do post your setup! Mine's already in the first post.
I have a turntable and some old reggae and punk vinyls...

Me too I've seen all but one of those bands playing live. Metallica twice, Monsters Of Rock @ Donington being the best one. That was an awesome concert, the 'One' intro alone, going on for 5 minutes, was like standing in the middle of a battlefield!
My favourite genre is Rock. Surprise!
In December I set out to make a track using just my 1985 vintage Roland JX8P synthesizer and Roland TR707 drum machine. Because of the nature of the synth (the JX8P is monotimbral - it can only play one sound at one time) I had to record each part separately and multi-track it. The result was a spacey italodisco tune some of you may have listened to on another thread. Anyway, Matt loved the tune wrote the first verse and part of the chorus and we recorded it just in time for Christmas break. Although I'd been listening to it a lot, only this week did I get around to juggling the arrangement and Matt spent the last few days completing the vocal. We are quite pleased with the overall result.
Hope you like it.

As you may notice that as this is totally synth track, we are going to have to be quite creative to fit this in a live set with guitar etc. Watch this space.
I like it!
It reminded me my old years dancing new wave stuff
Kinda 1st albums of human league and soft cell and depeche mode!
Congrats!
Thanks duder. Glad you like it. I am pretty pleased with it. Need to play it loud!

It's an awesome music and art festival to go and relax or get up and dance. 4 stages of music. Free admission. Bring your blankets and coolers. I know there are a few of you in the area. We don't have to meet up or anything, just letting you guys in OT know it's coming this weekend. Great acts always play. CTM this is where I saw Buddy Guy and Double Trouble perform. The vibe is amazing. I was rolling a cigg one year and an old lady asked if she could hit it. Thought it was a joint. Welcome to Denton, hippies and college kids. PM me if you need directions or suggestion on where to park as it does go quickly. Also seating. I'll throw out a couple blankets so plenty of room if you show up late and have no where to sit. I'm there all day. Have fun people.
Bumps for the blues
The purpose of this thread is to both provide others with ideas of what to watch and perhaps build interest in shows that you may have not previously considered.
List (in your own words):
The shows that you are currently watching
What the are about
Why you like them
Black Mirror (Contains profanity)
About: A dystopian future drama/sci-fi series in which humanity has become enslaved in itself. Each episode is basically it's own show and has some sort of bizarre twist.
Why I like it: It's bizarre, you don't really know the twist until the end and it is a fresh take at TV. Nothing is outside the realm of possibility on this show. (Netflix is renewing this one)
The Transporter (Contains nudity)
About: Based on the movies, it a series of mini-stories of Frank's life as the transporter
Why I like it While it isn't the same actor as the movie (Jason Statham), it is entertaining never the less. It's a bit cheesy but the plot lines are interesting and the special effects aren't bad.
X-Files
About: Mystery stories about the bizarre and aliens.
Why I like it: Really really cheesy by todays standards but its nostalgia.
Hemlock Grove (Contains profanity)
About: To be honest I have no fricken clue but see below
Why I like it It has a bizarre feel to it, almost like American Horror story'ish but better
LillyHammer (Contains profanity & Nudity)
About: A comedy mob story about a mobster who goes into hiding in Norway and tries to live a quite life but don't go as planned.
Why I like it It's got Steven Van Zandt from the Sopranos and it is just a funny awkward humors show.
Marco Polo (Contains profanity & Nudity)
About: Netflix's verison of Game of Thrones but taking place in Asia. That about sums it up.
Why I like it It's a different take on Game of Thrones (which I have never seen because I don't have HBO)
Orange is the New Black (Contains profanity & Nudity)
About: A girl who made all the right choices to live the high life find that they were wrong once she's grown up. Goes to prison and learns that life is very different.
Why I like it It's interesting to see how different interaction is on the inside and the characters she encounters. Crazy Eyes is hilarious too.
House of Cards
I just binge watched all 3 seasons of House of Cards this Labor Day weekend. It was pretty good and I recommend it. Political drama with scandals, getting ahead, etc etc
Very reflective of our current political scene with the lack of ethics etc, but holds your attention with amazing acting, especially by Kevin Spacey who was an awesome actor in his own right before the show.
Definitely recommend, and you can get all 3 seasons on Netflix, with season 4 coming in 2016 (filming now)
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
This show is funny as hell. And not that lame humor you see in most shows like Big Bang Theory and Friends etc (no offense if you like those shows) but more subtle and "intelligent" humor, somewhat like 30 Rock but even a bit different and better I think.
The plot doesn't matter too much, but it's some girl who was in a bunker for years while some dude had them in there because they thought the end of the world happened, then she comes out to see the world etc, but it's really funny and definitely recommended. Season 1 is on Netflix to binge watch, season 2 coming in 2016.

Both shows I mention are actually owned by Netflix, who in my opinion has hit home runs with their original broadcasting.
@SyCoREAPER - you've got me interested in Black Mirror now, never even heard of it and have been looking for a new binge watching show to compliment my Sunday NFL couch sitting!
I watch very little TV, I will go a month without watching literally anything then spend 3 days literally do nothing but binge watching a show, so these Netflix shows are really good for that purpose.

Not really on topic for this thread, but I think you can only do it with a VPN possibly... probably better to discuss it in another thread though.
Specially in the quarantine days, and many of us work with music on the background for that matter.
Nosferatu by Bloodbound
Jazz
Space Truckin' - Deep Purple
The Strokes
uhh, LOOΠΔ.
Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars - David Bowie (Mick Ronson lead guitar)
Amiga Music-Project X
arch enemy
Okay please don’t judge but I listen to musical soundtracks and classical music all the time. I listen to musical soundtracks because all the songs are so inspirational and I feel that it really helps with character development because I am an actress. I listen to classical because there is nothing more satisfying than hearing a whole symphony in your ears.
Purple Haze live at Woodstock - Jimi Hendrix
bebe Rexha.
I love hip hop and rap music. I usually listen to Mac Miller rap songs. He was a great rapper but unfortunately left us too early. I used to have his special swimming summer hoodie when this song was released. He made his name in such a short span of time in the rap industry.
wow this is one of my favorite songs
Jazz !
Jazz has all the elements that other music has: It has melody; that's the tune of the song, the part you're most likely to remember.
Guitar based Jazz-Rock Fusion, Larry Carlton, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Johnny A. John Petrucci/ Dream Theater.
Edit: I am indeed truly amazed at just how good my taste in music really is..............
All anime ops
Jazz, Because no matter what I always feel good with Jazz music
I'm a music lover and I don't have a favorite song or genre. My playlist can include African folk songs, Polish rap, Miley Cyrus, Ramstein and Vivaldi. I don't understand how it can be that I like so many different compositions, but that's the reality. I try not to show anyone my musical tastes, especially its dark sides. So when I'm asked to turn on songs on my phone at parties, I say that my battery is running low, or that I have nothing, or that I've deleted everything. I come up with excuses so that only people don't look at me like I'm crazy.
Rolling Stones live, Gimme Shelter, Sympathy for the Devil
