So I've had no problems up until a few days ago when if I try and take a photo on the camera it appears to work but the gallery icon in the corner of the camera still shows the last taken photo and opening the gallery also only shows the old photos. I also had an issue where I was receiving text messages and I could read them in the notification bar but when I opened the text to reply the new one wasn't there, I deleted a bunch of other messages but this didn't work but when i deleted the thread for the specific contact when a new one arrived it worked fine.
I've tried turning the phone off and one and I have a reasonable amount of space on the SD, so I'm baffled why I can't take any new photos!
Any help would be great, cheers!

I had a near identical issue where I would take a photo, the gallery icon would not update, and the photo was never saved. Also if I opened gallery no camera photos were there.
I backed up my DCIM folder, deleted all the images in 100MEDIA, updated my rom (ARHD), and it started working again.
I would try deleting all images in 100MEDIA then rebooting first.

No never touched it. I think the root of my problem was after upgrading from a 4.2 to 4.3 rom I manually moved my pictures to the new directory structure. The sense camera app does not appear to like that it did not write those files itself.

So i've been using my mytouch 3g fine the past few weeks with cyanogen mod 5 but recently i flashed cyanogen mod 6 and i didnt like the progress on it yet so i did complete system wipe and i restored my nandroid backup of cyanmod5. The problem i noticed was that when i turn on my camera app (the default one) it works fine until you take a picture. after the picture is taken there should be a little preview box with the picture on the top right hand corner but it's just black there and when i press it nothing happens. so then i put my sd card in my computer and the picture didnt save either. So i downloaded two other camera apps FxCamera and cameramagic and both of them forceclosed when trying to save. so i go into my gallery and it crashes without even giving me the message. So im guessing this problem has to do with the gallery app right? and if so how can i fix it?
help please?
Hmmm.... Haven't had any problems with mine. Have u tried wiping and reflashing?

Which version of cm5 are you using? The first roms of the cm5.0.7-test series had problems with the camara previews. Make sure you are using the latest cm5.0.8.
Also you don't need to wipe prior to a nandroid =p
Has anyone noticed this bug with JPY?:
When you first boot and open Gallery it is super fast with all the thumbnails preloaded. After a couple of hours when you open it again it says "Loading images" and re caches the thumbnails again taking some time. This is especially evident in folders with a lot of images. It would be ok for an hour and then bam! Loading images slowly when i open it again.
Clicking on a folder opens it with the first four pics showing and then scrolling you have to wait a few seconds for the thumbnails to appear whereas when it initially booted all the thumbnails were already there. Its like it deletes the thumbnails after a while and has to generate them again which takes some time especially if you have a lot of folders and pics.
Is this normal, I don't remember this in my old firmware? Its the only thing that is bugging me. Maybe they force close Gallery after a certain time avoid the sensor draining bug that was there with the previous firmware?
Can you please check a see if yours is the same so i dont have to do a factory reset
you can download SGS tools from the markup and upgrade your gallary app.. that's what i did and i don't have any problems with the gallery anymore..
goodluck
The gallery app in SGS tool is not compatible with JPY because of the new feature of selecting wall paper for lock screen. I gave it a try but it would force close everytime i wanted to select a wallpaper.

Absolutely the same and even more.... I have my picasa account connected to the gallery too, after an hour mainly picassa the gallery crashes - black screen, but no force close. Actually this one, the battery (not 100% after disconnecting) and the contacts app not closing, made me go back to JPP.

The contacts bug can be solved by uninstalling the task manager's update.

Press your menu button and choose Manage Apps. From there find the Media Storage app, and select the Clear Data option. Reboot your phone, and the problem should be fixed

Yeah, it was a pretty common problem for most people flashing to early versions of ICS roms, I think its a one time fix though - so you won't see it happen as you flash any other ROMs.
Glad to help
Also noticed another problem. Using the stock camera as it saves to SD is fine but if you use a 3rd party camera in my case camera FX so as to save to emmc you can't delete pictures/videos, they will remove from gallery but not the card and will pop back up again in the gallery unless deleted through file explorer.

hi all
i've formatted my completely stock HTC ONE after upgrading to 4.3 and i found 2 issues:
1. when i transferred my pictures and videos from laptop to the phone all photos and videos were showing the same date of transfer and when i view them in gallery the videos appear all one after another , not like how i took them...few photos, one video and one zoe...etc. Its like showing all photos and when scrolling down all videos...
is there a way to fix this? i have a lot of photos from my travel and i would like to keep them in the correct order.
2. my apps where automatically re installed cz i backed everything up on my google account ( an option in the phone ) so i found some of the apps have those old three dots in the lower side of the screen for the settings, the ones cancelled by the 4.2.2 upgrade. anybody knows how i got those back??? shall uninstall and re install again?
any help is appreciated
Thank you
Jamel

Hello everyone,
I have 2 note 4s from T-mobile and recently started to have issues with images.
On my rooted note 4, i cannot seem to save any photos from from text messages into the gallery.
On my non-rooter note 4, i cannot save any pictures from text messages or anywhere else. Also I cleared the cache of the media storage and that wiped everything out and I thought after restarting, it would all come back, but it has not. I have checked using Root Explorer, all my photos are in the DCIM/Camera folder but the items are not in the gallery app.
Can someone please advise what can be done in order to get this fixed because it has been going on for over a month now.
Anyone???
Check if there in not ".nomedia" file in your picture folder. Delete it if you have one. Another trick you may try. Move your pictures to another folder, open gallery and let it rebuilt tumbnails. Close gallery and move pictures back. It did help me once.
