[POLL]Should I port JellyBean?

Hello everyone,
I am quite a noob at android development but I would like to try
to port JB on our phones. I won't be fixing any bugs as I really have
no experience in this but this is for those who can't wait for nAa to
make a JB ROM and would like to try an alternative.
So what say you?
P.S. It will take some time to download repo so I might take a few days. And
I cannot be sure if it will work so I'm sorry if I'm giving people false hope

Nah you wont succed... I have a port but only bootloops all time

A soft brick at most lol. Maybe Xmaster is getting bootloops because we dont have a jb kernel yet?

Not about JB kernel.. Its was port from nexus so alot of methods in framework were missing or were wrong for our device...

You must use ics device tree and change it coresponding to new android version

why does everyone want to be a developer here?
you are saying you are new at android developing(what does this mean?, does this mean that you have soft mod an existing rom for your personal use?,does this means that you flash some custom roms?lol) and you want to port jb?! sure go ahead and try, why are you coming here and open a new thread, to ask for what? we all know that you are not gonna succed(reality hits you hard)....

No i'm not kidding you. If he wants to learn and try something, why would you stop him provided that he follows the rules? Last i read, xda is a place for learning. Not saying he can do it, but he can certainly try.

Wow, the attitudes in here are quite appalling. While it is true that the OP shouldn't have started a new thread, or even asked, other users shouldn't write him off straight away just because he is not a known developer. Remember, X8gesture (fake dt for synaptics) came out of the blue from doixanh, who was quite unknown by the X8 community at that time.
Furthermore, just because some of you have done some development work doesn't mean that you are entitled to judge that development newbies cannot port JB, on the basis that you yourselves failed at porting JB.
Just my 2 cents as the OP doesn't deserve such criticism.

Did you say everything in chinese? 2nd min thought, i passed a line saying it has English too ?

mmm, I feel that it lags around all the ROM specially when scrolling, touch input isn't always precise, and sometimes unmounts sdcard without telling. It's nowhere near as fast as Zeus though it feels very stable and customizable. Has it's pros and cons, but other roms to date are just better. However, I see a lot of future in this ROM lol

is echo and bad sound in call really fixed????

I have no idea. I guess because it was ported for the Phoenix/thrive, but it should work on the 500. all I do to get 500 roms to work on my Phoenix is to use a kernel for my device. I dunno why it doesn't want to cooperate for you.

I can't speak for Thrive/506 users but I use Arjens ics-190612 kernel as I think it was made for the 505/506. No blackscreen bug and brings wifi to gb roms.

I had issues with camera crashing gallery...already fixed it with camera 4.2 patched v2..its runing fast and blazing hard.... I'm definetly impressed...

Our rom has 1000+ views in a few seconds afters release when we first published for Galaxy S. Can't say same for here. But Nexus S users are our brother & sisters. We have a common enemy: Broken antenne lovers (apple users).

Go to gallery, open camera from there. You will forget about it. Sorry for camera fcs. It's a cyanogenmod bug. I fixed it on my repo. Tomorrows release will fix it officially. This rom is very stable. We have our own source build machine and we know what we doing.

Hehe love your description of Apple's broken antennae ... downloading now. Keep in mind we Nexi users are fortunate to have a lot of ROMS available to us, could be why you haven't seen an overwhelming demand. Every time I see a new ROM posted I grin a bit wider and download the sucker....flasha-holicism is alive and well in this forum!

Thank you for supporting our device. it is indeed really snappy experience for a 4.2 ROM on our crespo.
As for the kernel : Matrix

will definitely give it a shot after finished downloading..
since I'm a bit game freak on my Crespo.. LOL

IMHO, Matr1x, Marmite & Trinity are awesome kernel for our crespo here.
But for my device, Matr1x is the stable one.
