[Q] Stock Sense Lockscreen - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I installed Trickdroid 7.5 and was a bit disappointed that I couldn't install lockscreen widgets (near as I could tell) like I thought you could in 4.2. I thought maybe the stock AOSP lockscreen would let me, so I installed it in the tweaks. It did not and now I'd like to get back to the Sense lockscreen.
So my question is, if I have a nandroid backup and titanium backup from before I installed the AOSP lockscreen is it possible to reinstall the sense lockscreen without reflashing the entire rom? When I try and restore "HTC Lock Screen 5.0..." in Titanium it just hangs (spinning circle) and doesn't do anything.
Also, once I have the sense lockscreen back (or on the AOSP lockscreen) is there something I'm missing to install the lockscreen widgets on 4.2.2?
Thanks in advance.

I answered my own question. Reflashed the rom without wiping and it reinstalled the lock screen.

I just flashed the vanilla lock with menu-menu disabled from geekfor.me over the deodexed fresh 2.1.1 and all seems to be working.
I did not clear my ext3. I just flashed over odexed 2.1.1 with the deodexed, then booted. Then I went into recovery and flashed the zip to install vanilla lockscreen with no menu unlock.
From geekfor.me:
# Fix the lock screen, install vanilla clock, uninstall HTC’s world clock, and disable menu to unlock: http://link.geekfor.me/vanillalock6
i honestly dont understand what deodexed means..i just flashed the version of fresh 2.1.1 thats on the thread..i downloaded the vanilla lock you linked me and it still doesnt work, the lock and silent ringer button are out of wack and menu button still unlocks..

In non-techical terms, consider deodexed as unsigned or unencrypted. There is another Fresh ROM that has been deodexed in the hero development category. I don't have the exact thread since I'm over Tapatalk.

Yep that's exactly what I had to do to get the rotary lock screen to work.
Thank you for the update. It was much appreciated.

htc hero fresh rom 2.3.3 question

on the fresh updater i applied the vanilla lock + vanilla apps + world clock 2 n when i applied it it took away the htc music away & i want it back because i dont like the vanilla music app. i tried to apply the vanilla lock enable to see is that would take it away but i didnt. what can i do thanks
I gave up on fresh 2.3.3 too many issues. No offense to flipz but ill stick to 2.1.2.
im not having that many of issues it runs pretty good to me does anybody else know what to do thanks
After reading one of fresh's release notes on his earlier builds like 2.1.2 or something, i noticed that he had 3 update zips that did different things to sense and vanilla lock screen. You will have to reinstall the rom and choose the basic vanilla lock screen because the other lock screens have issues with sense. Thats why certian sense items are not working. The update zip you choose to run which was the vanilla lock screen plus clock + apps. That paticular update zip deletes parts of sense that are incompatible with the lockscreen.
Hope this helps
ok it makes sense ya ill just reinstall the rom thanks
i tried to back up both nandroid & bart & they both said (error : run nandroid-mobile.sh via adb! & error : run bart via adb!) whats causing that

[Q] Install HTC Sense without installing a ROM

I know I could download the Desire port and flash it via recovery to get the sense ui, but that would erase everything, and I don't want to do that.
I want to know if I could just download a sense ui app or mod or something and install it over my current existing ROM without having to erase everything? Right now I have stock froyo, and would like to try sense, but I find flashing that desire rom, and installing 250 apps and restoring settings daunting. I have searched everywhere, and aside from installing the desire ROM, I can't find any answers.

The Sense framework requires total replacement.
What you can do is:
- take a nandroid backup of your current config in case you want to revert
- take a Titanium backup as well
From a clean install of the Sense ROM, you can restore 95% of the apps and app data with Titanium. If you have the paid version you can even restore Market links for those apps. You'll have to redo the home screens and some system settings, but it's not all that bad.

RCADSmix v2.2 Lockscreen Icons

Hi guys:
I'm running RCADSmix v2.2, with the Sense 3.0 lockscreen. However, I do not see any of the lockscreen icons that are supposed to show up, just the ring. If I change the lockscreen type through "Personalize", I see it briefly for the first time I lock my screen, then it disappears forever, including the widget in the middle. Does anyone have this issue?
I did a full wipe before flashing the rom, including Dalvik, batt stats, rotation. Using Amon Ra 2.2.1, with HBOOT-0.35.0017, 5.12 radio. 1 GB SD-EXT (ext3). The same issue occurs for me with v2.1 of the ROM. I was hoping flashing v2.2 would resolve the issue, but it doesn't appear to.

Custom ROM backup/restore

Hello;
I am about to switch from stock sammy rom to a custom rom but would like to avoid reinstalling all my apps / touchwiz shortcuts etc. Is it possible? I have TWRP and have taken a backup of each partition but I am not sure if i can flash a new rom then restore things or if I need to accept setting everything up from scratch with each new rom i try?
Thanks;
andy
It would appear I'm not the only one struggling with this: 50 views and no replies.
Is everyone still starting from scratch every time they flash a rom?
