Dolphin Browser and Flash (Solved. See post #8) - Sprint HTC One (M7)

Hello,
Has anyone been successful in getting flash player to work with Dolphin Browser. I have flash enabled always and it still doesn't work. I have both installed on my Asus Infinity Tablet at the same versions and it works fine on there. The Infinity is at 4.2.1

I stopped using Dolphin when they stopped supporting flash
Sent from my HTC ONE using xda app-developers app

I hear boat browser still supports flash

Maxthon Has much improved and when jelly bean was released flash was dismissed in favor of HTML5 from what I've read regarding this issue.
Dolphin is one my favorite browsers ATM but it is choppy for me on my HTC ONE . Right now I would recommend Maxthon for flash and chrome for speed.
My preferred Windows browser is Firefox but not on my HTC ONE.
Hope that helps.

Puffin supports flash (video at least. Not sure about games). Not free though.

Anyone know how to get dolphin to open youtube/maps apps instead of in browser ?

I am not using this modded Dolphin but just ran across this post which reminded me of your post.
Modded the Dolphin Browser to ALLOW flash support!
EDIT; OH I SEE,the newly released dolphin 10.0 supports flash again.

Finally found out how to get Flash player working in Dolphin Browser on the Htc One.
1. Flash has to be installed. (You can get the latest version doing a search on Google)
2. Open Dolphin. Go to settings. Go to Web Content. Turn Flash player Always on.
3. Then go to the phone settings. Go to apps. Go to Dolphin Browser. Click force stop. Then check Force GPU rendering.
It works great.

[Q] [Help] Unable to watch flash video on browsers!

Since flashing to a Miui.us 1.7.29 rom none of my browsers are able to support video playback. I tried on both dolphin browser and the miui default browser neither work. Videos from the browser that uses a external player to play, youtube app and videos from sd card still works. I tried to solve it but nothing helps. Changed rom to miui. us later version 1.7.22 with data wipe and all the other wipes plus factory reset.Permission fix. Installed and uninstalled flash player 10.3. And have been searching through google but still no solution.
So please help!!!!
Forgot to mention there is still sound but just a black screen comes out during playback.
I have the same problem. I found that the opera browser works
Sent from my Incredible S using XDA Premium App
sounds more of a miui specific problem ... so questioning this in their thread will probably get u an answer faster...

Well surprisingly that seems to work ! Thanks!
But still I would really want to know what is the main cause of all this? The rom maybe?
Till then opera browser would be my default browser.

what browser r u using for KFHD?

I've tried some browsers but not i could not find perfect one.
Silk, firefox : somewhat slow laggy and i do not like the interface.
Chrome, opera beta, etc : when scrolling down, the screen is not scrolling down, but just jump and stop to down
Scrolling up is fine. I donno why it happens.
Boat, uc, and some others : when i open a page which is kind long, it shows from the middle.
I have to scroll up for reading from the top.
What browser r u guys using without problems?

Thank you guys for the suggestion.
I tried Dolphin and Tint, but none of them works properly.
Same issue, I open a page, then it shows on the middle (or sometimes end) of the page. I always scroll up to the top for reading.
Do you guys have same issue with Dolphin or Tint?
Or only I have the problem?

Well i used to have the same problems as you so i had chrome for daily use because it syncs bookmarks with my PC, It's main downside is that it doesn't support flash which is a big deal to me so i also had firefox installed for if i needed flash player.
But then hashcode released CM10.1 and WOW, JUST WOW, it has an AOSP browser and god this browser is GREAT, it's basically exactly like Chrome for Android and syncs bookmarks too but runs noticeably smoother in every way. It even lets you choose a user agent so you can fool websites into thinking you are browsing from desktop PC, Android, iPhone or iPad, It also supports flash and you can play youtube videos directly from the website instead of launching your video player app.
I pulled it for you from system/app, But i don't know if it's compatible with stock ROM
Give it a try.

It won't work. Since amazon's stock ROM is ICS, Jellybean system apps won't work.

flash player working on 4.4 kitkat (instructions)

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2548001
confirmed working on my nexus 4, 4.4 stock kitkat.
all you need to do is download the modified flash player installer from XDA, and use your favourite browser (i'm using dolphin and dolphin jetpack).
credit goes to user surviveland on XDA.
http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ to test and see the version.
dolphin's faq was also updated with this info today https://dolphinbrowser.desk.com/customer/portal/articles/1365883
Working here with stock 4.4 and Dolphin, not working on Firefox.
Does it need jet pack to be installed?

Just use MX Player to play your flash files. Dolphin is just for embedded flash. Don't follow....
Thanks for posting this works perfectly. Only thing is I can't get hulu to work in desktop mode, but it didn't work right with 4.3 either for me.

i tried that before, but it seems it can't open my swf files, on 4.3 i open those files by accessing the local files on firefox, and it's working. i don't know why any swf players (mx player, etc) can't open my files...
sorry for my bad english

That is an issue with your MX player install then. It worked just fine for me. Have you tried just firing up MX player and opening the file? If you dont see the file then go to settings, list, video folders. Also consider just a swf player app.

I'm on 4.4.2 and yes. "works" in that it is a little buggy but that's not due to really to this hack, Flash on Android has been dodgy for a long time, sites crash etc, but its not 4.4.2 fault but that the version of flash is many versions behind, the most recent available on Android is 11.1.115.87 whilst the most recent 11.9.900.170.
Hulu isn't working as it checks the platform and decides to reject. I use BBC for HD and its very dodgy reliability, works best on my N10 and won't work on my N7 2012.

Not only dolphin browser but also Boat and default Android 4.0 browser supports. If you use Dolphin then you will have to download Dolphin Jetpack app as well from the Play Store.

I used to be able to sync Firefox across MSwin Ubuntu Nook Tablet stock ROM and HD+ CM 10.1.3
which was nice but I stopped updating MSWin version because of removal of Java support

Same, I used to use Chrome on stock Nook ROM but didn't really like it. Nowhere near as good as desktop versions.
Quick question though for anyone using Cyanogenmod etc. Does your browser playback flash content? Before installing Cyanogenmod I backed up the flash apk downloaded from Nook store (think it's called "browser addon"), I then installed it in Cm and can view YouTube videos etc in the stock browser.

Firefox and flash are possible with cm 10.1, 10.2, and 11.
Don't know about chrome or aosp browser nor any other way.
kitkat is not as good for flash as older versions due to changes in the os and current hacks... but it will work.
I don't think I saw anyone else mention it but I really like UC browser HD. Give it a try.

flash player

I've been trying to get flash player to work with the stock browser. It looks like it's disabled within the browser itself. I've got it working in Firefox (beta). Does anyone else have it working in Firefox as well?
Just no stock or chrome. I know I can do other 3rd party browser workarounds. I might just switch to using FF as my primary.

I don't use Firefox, but from what I read there are some things missing in the stock browser after the kit Kat update that is needed for flash to work.

I have flash working on firefox beta, when content is flash capable, firefox asks to activate flash and plugin content (could be set to always on/off/ask). Some pages do not recognize the version of flash but most load fine.
